“Thank you,” Ally smiled as Lyall left the kitchen and straight to his father’s office. When he entered, Alpha was already positioned behind his desk with Alpha Mother sitting nervously in one of the opposite facing chairs. All she could do was stare at the back of the open computer and wait for Alpha Jon to answer the video call. The ringing sounded four more times after Lyall placed his father’s coffee on the desk before it pinged and the black screen lightened to reveal a foreign face.“Greetings!” Alpha Jon seemed more chipper than Lyall would imagine an Alpha to be. Lyall watched his father tap his finger on the edge of the desk while glaring at a loading bar screen. It reminded Lyall of when Alpha had finally consented to getting a computer instead of just using a filing system alone. Alpha still used the ancient, paper files, always afraid the computer system would crash. Now, Alpha could easily download, track and access any file he wanted to with ease as if he were head of the FBI. Not even Lyall was as tech-savvy as his old man. Alpha Mother still sat in her seat, squirming whilst examining her own copy of Draugluin ’s prep sheet. Lyall picked up Alpha's copy. He was surprised at the amount of detail Draugluin had put into a pre-interrogation paper. There weren’t just well-organized questions but follow up questions and types of answers that should be given if the conversation went in one of two or three different directions. “That was great!” Alpha Jon clapped, knocking me out of my stupor. “Is that one way you train your wolves in combat back in America?” His question threw me off and I exchanged glances with Draugluin , neither of us saying a word. “Hurry and get dressed,” Alpha Jon urged, “we have a big day ahead of us.”“Big day?” I was puzzled. Draugluin was shaking his head. I couldn’t tell if it was disapproval or disbelief. Whichever it was, he didn’t hesitate to break up the conversation by stepping on the treadmill and changing the setting. Julianna quickly restarted her stopwatch as Draugluin started running.The show-off didn’t follow my plan at all. Instead he ran at a steady jog for fifteen minutes. than expected, Alpha had to bribe the few construction workers and carpenters of the pack that, if they could create a new, large extension of the house in the back left side before the pups were six months old, the workers wouldn't have to pay their monthly pack contribution for an entire year.
