Chapter 55

“Thank you,” Ally smiled as Lyall left the kitchen and straight to his father’s office. When he entered, Alpha was already positioned behind his desk with Alpha Mother sitting nervously in one of the opposite facing chairs. All she could do was stare at the back of the open computer and wait for Alpha Jon to answer the video call. The ringing sounded four more times after Lyall placed his father’s coffee on the desk before it pinged and the black screen lightened to reveal a foreign face.

“Greetings!” Alpha Jon seemed more chipper than Lyall would imagine an Alpha to be. He also looked older than he sounded. “You must be Draugluin ’s Alpha. How are you?”

“Please cut the pleasantries. I find them meaningless and a waste of breath when you’re about to have a business chat.” Alpha grunted, grabbing his coffee as a distraction to once again review Draugluin ’s sheet of paper that held all the answers Alpha needed. It lay in front of the computer, hidden from Alpha Jon's view.
