Chapter 10: Meeting The Envoys

After clothing himself up, Shi Yan still couldn't get over the event that happened to him.

His brain is still wrecking him with a painful feeling like hundreds of needles kept scratching at it repeatedly.

"Master, the envoys are about to arrive," Yana spoke and broke his silence.

Shi Yan nodded his head: "But... I still can't think properly."

Yana smiled: "That's even better, you just have to wear your armor and sit at the hall."

"Okay... wait, what do you mean even better?" Shi Yan asked.

"Don't worry about the small stuff, here'." Yana smiled and handed him a set of black armor with crimson leather and a cape, it's also together with a dragon helmet covering everything but the eyes.

Yana smiled and continued once more: "Well, you could rest and appear in the grand hall, no need to talk, you can leave the rest to me."

"Also, if you find anything that I've said not to your liking, you can tell us after the meeting with the envoys is done."

"We want you to act as mysterious as you can until you are familiar with this world, you understand me, master?" Yana smiled after finishing her words.

"This... you sound more like the master than me..." Shi Yan couldn't help but utter.

Yana chuckled: "Master, we've had been with your family since the beginning of it, hence, we have at least this much."

"To groom you until you're ready, to shoulder your responsibilities until you can meet its end, and to carry the Shi Family until you can shoulder it yourself."

Shi Yan hearing this sighed, pausing for a bit, he nodded his head: "Okay, thanks."

Yana smiled: "Of course it's nothing, it's our responsibility to see you grow up."

Shi Yan wore all of his armor and followed them: "I feel like I'm still weak though, how can I do things with my current strength?"

Garun smiled at him: "Master, don't worry about such things, I heard that you will attain your power after your next visit, sadly, it's only a power you can use in this world, but I think it's fine."

Shi Yan nodded his head: "I just hope that it'll be great."

"Oh right, I learned so many things but don't know what to do with it."

Yana replied: "As things should be, it'll probably depend on the situation, but at the very least, you'll know almost everything to deal with most of the situations."

Shi Yan nodded once more.

Yana nodded her head seeing Shi Yan understood, the two of them started walking: "Please follow us to your grand hall."

Shi Yan immediately followed as he wore the armor completely.

To his surprise, he could see clearly even when the mask is over his face.

As he arrived, Yana pointed at a throne and uttered: "Sit there as we wait for their arrival."

"Un." Shi Yan nodded his head and sat. The two, Garun and Yana stood beside him waiting patiently.

He thought it'll be hot, but it was quite a great temperature, soothing breeze keeps circulating around his body making him comfortable.

"They have arrived!" A servant shouted.

And soon, the door of the grand hall's massive door opened.

A tall woman walked to the front, followed by a woman whose face is covered by a veil.

Thirty pairs of soldiers followed the two of them carrying massive chests.

"We've brought our goodwill again this time again." The woman smiled and waved her hand.

The soldiers started placing the chests aside in a line.

Yana nodded and walked forward.

"Welcome, Envoy Clarise." She said.

The envoy named Clarise nodded her head: "Is the sovereign still not present? It's already the 315th visit, I think the sovereign isn't intereste-"

She couldn't finish her words as she noticed a pair of mysterious gaze looking at her from afar.

Subconsciously, she glanced at the throne.

A person is there gazing at them.

"S-sovereign!" Clarise immediately knelt down and bowed her head respectfully.

Hearing her, the woman behind her also bowed while the soldiers knelt on the ground immediately.

Clarise started sweating profusely after remembering what she had said earlier, she couldn't help but look at the woman behind her.

She's currently sweating as well, her face darkened, her body trembling.

"Sh*t!" She couldn't help but utter.

------------Earlier-------------

Inside the carriage, a woman with a veil peeked out of the window: "Clarise, how do you think it'll go?"

Clarise riding a horse smiled at her: "Princess, it's been hundreds of years since the last offering was accepted, truthfully, the number of princesses sent to the Supreme Dragon Manor is no less than three hundred already, yet, only one had been accepted since then."

"After the first one, no other princess was accepted."

"Why is that?" The veiled woman asked.

Clarise chuckled: "Because, the sovereign married that princess, and after 50 years, the second princess arrived again, but there are no sovereign present, hence, other than the offering, the escorts and the princess returned."

"Since then, every year or two, once a princess had reached a certain age, they will be sent to this place."

"But yeah, it had been hundreds of years since that one was accepted."

The princess asked then: "So, why are we offering ourselves to the sovereign?"

Clarise smiled: "Because... the kingdom of the princess that that person had accepted.... became the True Dawn Empire of today."

"The strongest empire in the continent?" The princess asked.

Clarise nodded her head: "Yes, it's not that the sovereign helped them, it's that, nobody dared to do anything to the True Dawn Kingdom until it became an Empire."

"So yeah, the surrounding kingdoms get into war with each other, but never touched the True Dawn Empire unless they are attacked first."

"It's all due to that person's influence."

"Is that man really strong?" The princess asked.

"Yeah, I mean, hundreds of years ago, this continent was suddenly invaded by a 6th race, it was a tyrant race that harmed the world, without any mercy."

"He then arrived, destroyed the race, and settled in the center of the continent to be its protector."

Clarise nodded her head: "But yeah, after hundreds of years, it just became a tradition now, hence, princesses will just go to pay a visit and look at the manor."

The princess smiled then nodded her head: "So... it's just going to be a visit?"

Clarise nodded her head: "Yes, just a visit."

The two of them continued to chat as the princess became excited to see the hero's manor.

Based on their words, the hero was probably around 400 years old or more now if he's still alive.

But then...

----Present-----

They are staring at a dragon masked hero that they deemed to have completely vanished.
