Henry stood there, dumbfounded, as Irene created a clear boundary between them, 'stranger-zoning' him, if there was even a word like that.

She didn't even give him a chance to say a word as immediately a taxi came, she hopped into it and left instantly.

He suddenly felt guilty and frustrated for misjudging her without even wanting to hear from her side. But the way it was, he couldn't help it. Everything felt too suspicious, from the way she came into his life like a good girl without insulting him like others, the way she was too kind, and the way she peeped back into the car.

He almost forgot these were just normal human characteristics.
