He was poisoned

"What's happening to my father?"

"What's wrong?" Everyone in the room began to panic, except Nathan. He kept his eyes on the Carbin's Lord.

"Everyone, calm down," He yelled just to get their attention, "Mr. Carbin will be fine," Nathan added. He turned to look at the faces of everyone in the room. He scoffed after sewing the expression on the doctor's face.

"Please, I don't want to lose my husband. Tell me what we need to do," Mrs. Carbin begged. Nathan didn't utter a word. He noticed the terrified look on Isabella's face before he took a few steps closer to the Lord, who was unconscious on the bed.

"He was poisoned," Nathan said as he took out a powder from his pocket. This spec powder can cure any poison in the world and it was invented by Nathan. He's the only one who knows its recipe. In the black market, one gram of the powder is worth half a million. People usually call it a magic drug because it works like magic.

The room became pin-drop silent and everyone watched Nathan. No one dared to say a word and the only thing that Mrs. Carbin wanted was for her husband to get better by any means.

The look on Doctor Tony's face instantly changed, he was filled with envy. Everyone in the room trusted him at that moment, and it made Doctor Tony's blood boil in both envy and anger.

"Stop!" Doctor Tony yelled, and everyone turned to him. 

"Don't let him give the Lord anything, the powder he holds is a poison and it'll kill the Lord," He said, but they all seemed calm, and no one reacted to his words.

"Listen to me Mrs. Carbin, I'm the doctor here, I know what he's holding, it's a poison, don't let him give it to the lord." 

"Please stop, maybe there's another way," Mrs. Carbin hesitated, but she had no choice but to listen to Doctor Tony

"Doctor Tony," she called

"Yes, ma" He answered with a satisfactory smile on his face, "I've finally put him where he belongs," He thought

"What do we do now" Mrs. Carbin asked without shifting her gaze away from her husband, she was scared that if she blinked her eyes or looked away from him, he'd stop breathing. Fear engulfed all the members of the Carbin family.

Nathan, who stood next to the lord noticed the Lord's condition "Mrs. Carbin, your husband only has a few minutes left," Nathan said in a cold voice. He raised his head to look her in the eyes.

"I can't watch the Lord die so if you want, try to stop me from giving him this medicine," Nathan said and before anyone could protest, he poured a little of the powder into the Lord's mouth, causing Doctor Tony to scream

"No, you have no right to do that" He yelled and dragged the powder from him, causing the rest of it to fall on the ground, but luckily a little of it had already entered the Lord's mouth

Doctor Tony turned to Nathan in a rage and said, "What have you done?" He said and swiftly turned to Mrs. Carbin and said, "If anything happens to the Lord, I won't take responsibility for it"

Nathan's blood boiled after hearing Doctor Tony's words. "But you almost killed him with the injection you injected into his body," Nathan said as he picked up one of the medications that Doctor Tony injected into the Lord's body

"See..." He said pointing the two bottle empty bottles of medicine to the Carbin family and Lily instantly gasped after seeing the name of the medication

"You can't give those injections to someone who was poisoned," she uttered and furrowed her eyebrow

"How can a doctor possibly inject these two injections into his patient?" Nathan said, throwing the little bottles to the ground. 

"Let's be honest with ourselves, Doctor Tony or should I say, Mr. Tony," Nathan said, taking a few steps closer to Doctor Tony, who was terrified

"It's either you're trying to kill the Lord of the Carbin family yourself or..."

"No, I won't ever try to kill him. I wasn't aware that he was poisoned," Doctor Tony said and hurried to the bedside table where Mr. Carbin's file was placed.

"Here, it wasn't stated here that he was poisoned," Doctor Tony said. His hands began to shake, and it became evident to everyone present in the room that he was scared.

Nathan's eyes scanned through the reports, and he was right. He swiftly turned to Lily. "I believe that the poison was hidden. Even after doing a thorough check, we couldn't find a trace of poison," Lily said, taking a few steps closer to Nathan, who stood by the bedside. He glared at Doctor Tony and swiftly handed the files back to him. He held the Lord of the Carbin family's hand, trying to check his pulse. 

His face turned red from pale, and his heartbeat went back to normal. The Carbin family heaved a sigh of relief and Mrs. Carbin finally sat down back on the chair after seeing for the first time in weeks that his condition was getting better.

Doctor Tony heaved a long sigh of relief after seeing this. He briskly walked towards the bedside table and placed his files back on the table.

"Dad, Dad!" the first daughter of the family said the minute she saw him open his eyes. 

"W.. wa... water" He stuttered, and she rushed to get him water. The joy that filled the faces of the Carbin's family was unexplainable. 

"Thank Goodness," Mrs. Carbin said with a wide smile on her face

"All this was because of the injection I gave him," Doctor Tony said, and adjusted the cloth properly. Everyone in the room swiftly turned to look at him and scoff.

"Thank you, Nathan" Lily whispered. She couldn't imagine what would have happened if the Lord of the Carbin family had died.

"So you planned to kill my father?" The first son of the family turned to the doctor and took a few steps closer to him, causing the doctor to step backward in fear.
