Chapter 14: Status Window

He sits down on his bed.

On his bed, there is a comforter and everything. Even though the bed itself is made of bamboo, the other things on the bed seems like a pillow from the modern world.

Sometimes, the system store sells a few things in the store that is not martial art related

These things are usually necessities like this. When the system store refreshed they would usually be erased

Li Xin was lucky one night when he was looking at the system store and the system store was selling few comforter and pillows.

He had a lot of money so he simply bought it from the system store

He bought a few comforters and because of that his bed is very fluffy.

It is quite weird when one thinks about it. He is in the middle of forest where nobody lives but his bed is probably more comfortable than the bed in the Imperial Palace.

His house itself has charm of a house that no house in this era possess. It is very clean and while he made this house with bamboo, he pays attention to the details.

It looks like the house of a reclusive immortal, possessing that kind of detached but elegant. It is a hut to him but to the people of this era, this might look like a house.

Even though Li Xin knows that he would only use it for a few weeks, he did not skimp on many things.

Li Xin believes that since he has the abilities, there is no need to force himself to live in shabby hut or making things hard on himself.

‘Home sweet home’ he said to himself. He had finished bathing and he feel refreshed right now. Today there is a lot of things he needs to do

He takes a deep breath first.

By now, all of his inner energy has been restored. He then thought of the security and shakes his head

‘I don’t think that he would follow me. I do not sense anyone’

He doesn't think that whoever that attacked him follows him.

he had uses his Spiritual Perception all the way back home. If someone had followed him home, he would have known.

Li Xin is quite confident that the person who had attacked him is not stronger than him. Only someone that is stronger than him could hide from his Spiritual Perception.

The reason why he is so confident that the attacker is not stronger than him was the fact that if the attacker was stronger than him, then there is no need to simply attack him with a poison needle and then disappear

The attacker could have attacked him in that moment after throwing the poison needle and engage with him.

 The fact that the attacker did not shows that the attacker might not have full confidence to fight against him

‘Even resting in my own home requires too much calculation’ Of course, this did not mean that Li Xin lower down his guard. After all, just because the attacker didn’t follow him home did not mean that the attacker didn’t know where it is.

The attacker might have come to this area before and notice that there is now a hut here. Li Xin did not let go of any possibilities.

But, he thinks he could rest easy now. Even though there is still some soreness on his body because of his fight, most of the pain had been washed away.

Only then he could follow his plan. Without strength, any plans that he wants to do would be hard

And of course, he needs to survive. He thought about it and if he dies here, Li Xin don’t think that he would get revived like it was a game

And he is not sure that by dying he would get back to his world. And it is not a memory or thoughts that he wants to revisits.

He fears that he would do the unthinkable if he keeps thinking like that

Since this is not a game, certain strategy could not be used.

In the past, even when he is a weak disciple of some martial art school, he did not hesitate to sacrifice himself to fight against people who are more powerful than him.

His back straight, his head held up high. The reason is simply because it is a game and when he dies he would be revived

So, he could do the trial and error method wantonly.

 But he could not do things like this anymore.

He had to judge whether the person he wants to fight is stronger than him, could the opponent kill him and what to do, whether to fight or to run…and all of this things

He needs to be more cautious and more thoughtful in each of his action. He also believes that if he does die, the system that he had might find another host

Li Xin had been thinking about it for a few days. Since this is a real world, and everything he had seen and experience pointed to that, then there must be a reason why he got the system.

Was it just because he was unfortunate and play that game?

Or is it because of the lightning that strikes him. Could it be so coincidental that he plays a game and suddenly lightning strikes and he was transported to this world?

Or is there another reason for all of this? he doubts that he was transported to this world so that he could simply just enjoy this world.

Li Xin of course intends to enjoy himself.

After all, if he accumulates to much stress, then what if he had that kind of dark thoughts again? But he believes that the system might also have an objective.

Li Xin always believed that good things, especially this kind of good things must have certain price that needs to be paid.

He had certain ideas of course but some of it is too farfetched.

But when he thinks about his situation again, nothing is that farfetched compared to what he is experiencing right now

‘I need to calm down’ he said to himself. And then he takes a deep breath, inhales and exhaling it

He shakes his head

He knows he needs to take it one step at a time. Maybe, if he explores this world and become stronger he would unravel the mystery of this system.

Or maybe he is wrong.

Maybe it is simply some bad luck or good luck depending on who you ask, to have a system that easily let you learns martial arts.

Maybe, he is overthinking it and the fact that he was here is random and this system is some kind of simulation system by some kind of alien civilization.

But right now, he is running on maybe. And “maybe” is not good enough. Unless he has enough facts, it is better to walk step by step
