Alec greeted his dad who is making dinner in the kitchen
"Hi, dad"
He headed towards the kitchen.
"Hi, Dad" he greeted the second time and needed no soothsayer to tell him his dad was mad at him.
"Alexander Todd, Welcome back home" He turned to Alec "Young man, you've got lot and lot of explaining to do"
"I'm sorry, dad, I went job hunting" He lied. He doesn't have the courage to tell him about the things that happened, he doesn't want his father freaking out or getting very worried.
"Job hunting? Job hunt....." Alec's dad trailed off and scoffed "For two days Alexander? two fucki...freaking days?"
Alec smiled at his dad's effort not to use a curse word.
"I had to check everywhere in the city since I was desperate and I finished up with everything very late at night so I slept at a friend's place" Alec explained in lies.
"Is that why you could not send a single text or give me a phone call?" He narrowed his eyes at his son "You look different"
"Yeahhhh, I feel happy"
"Obviously"
"I got the job" Alec grinned "I got a new job, dad, I'll be able to assist you" His dad smiled, and opened his mouth to talk, but before he could utter a single word, Alec spoke up.
"I need to go, I have assignments" He lied again. He only wants to avoid his dad's numerous questions.
When he got to his room, he took off his shirt and began to inspect his body in the mirror.
"Oh, man, look at my abs" He mumbled, grazing his fingers over the lines in his stomach. His eyes slide to his arms, and he could see the change in his biceps also. He began to flex his muscles with a grin.
"System" Alec called, still grinning "I really changed fast, I hope it's a good thing"
"Yes. Getting binded with the system comes with changes in the body"
"Hmm. So, the system gave me six packs?" He asked, sounding amused.
"No. Your super powers did"
"My superpowers" Alec laughed shortly "Cool" He pressed his palm on his chest to feel its hardness. "You said we are binded, yeah?"
"Yes"
Alec stood akimbo "Does that mean we are connected? Like, really connected?"
"Yes"
Alec's body isn't the only one undergoing fast changes, but also his life.

The next morning, Jeremy was kind enough to stop by Alec's house to pick him up with his car for school. Alec's dad was happy his son finally started to make friends, a nice friend at that."Have a nice day in school, boys" Alec's dad said, waving at the boys as they got into the car.
When the car zoomed off, the man sighed. The changes in Alec was a good one, he was happy with it, but he was worried the changes are too fast too to be true and lasting.
At school, Jeremy and Alec walked side by side, getting stares of surprise and curiosity. The gawks didn't stop even in classes. Alec got many inquisitive eyes staring at him. He became the centre of attention.
During lunch, Alec had gone to the cafeteria to wait for Jeremy so they could discuss more about yesterday's event.
He felt many eyes on him as he sat alone, quietly drinking his milkshake, until a girl waved to him and joined him. She was the same girl that waved to him days ago at the hall way.
She is a pretty girl with curly rose gold hair and good body shape. Anytime she passes by, guys turn their heads for a glance at her. Almost every single guy in the school wants her because of her beauty.
"I'm Jenny" She introduced herself cheerfully to Alec, showing her white teeth.
Alec observed she's got a good smile too. He could get a slight view of the bullies hard face from the corner of his eyes. He sensed danger.
"Hello?" Jenny waved her hands across his face. "You look lost"
"Oh, sorry, hi" Alec greeted her nervously, trying hard to match her cheerfulness "Hi, Jenny"
Jenny smiled at him "I hope you don't mind my presence here. You always stay alone and might not really like...."
"No. No, I don't mind" Alex replied, then a deep voice boomed in the cafeteria.
"Actually, I mind" Kevin materialized right in front of them. "Jenny, What are you doing with this poor brat!?"
His friends laughed mockingly at Alec.
Jenny frowned at Kevin. "Do not call him a poor brat"
Kevin laughed. "Really?"
"Yes" Jenny answered boldly.
Unknown to Alec, Jeremy had arrived and was watching from where he stood at the entrance of the cafe.
Kevin turned his attention to Alec. "Get out!"
Alec ignored him, drinking his milkshake."I said, get out!" Kevin thundered, but Alec didn't move an inch.
Kevin grabbed Alec's milkshake and flinged it across the cafe. Alec rose to his feet to get another milkshake, then his eyes caught Kevin trying to give a straight punch, he ducked it quickly by bending his head backwards.
The cafeteria went silent.
Kevin blinked twice, trying to comprehend what just happened. He tried to strike again, but Alec was swift enough to move aside in other to avoid the attack.
Kevin was puzzled, wondering what hell is happening. Few days ago he could beat up Alec, easily, but now Alec suddenly grew strong? In anger, he attempted to drag Alec by his shirt, but Alec quickly stepped back and pushed a chair towards him, making him stumble, then Alec grabbed the opportunity to throw a hard punch which sent Kevin flying to the entrance of the cafeteria right at Jeremy's feet.
Alec inspected his hands in amazement. Just few days ago, he was beaten up brutally by this same guy, but today he is the champion.
Jenny laughed mockingly at Kevin "Ooops. The mighty has finally fallen"
The screen appeared in front of Alec.
"Task two successfully completed"
Alec tried to think about what the second task could be, then he recalled he could not complete a task from trainings only, but also from fights.
"New super power unlocked: Super vision"
Alec smiled at himself, he felt excitement surging through his body, and felt tempted to communicate with the system right in front of everyone, but he had to control his urges. Jeremy grinned at Alec, and gave him a thumbs up, while the other students mummured among themselves. "How did he grow so strong?" A guy asked his friend who simply shrugged and replied. "That is a mystery" "He looks hotter than before" A girl observed, squinting her eyes at Alec. Some of the girls stared at Alec with a new found admiration while some students threw him curious looks, trying to study him. ***Alec sat in Jeremy's car, patiently waiting for him to finish with his works, and drive them home afterwards. They were not able to talk about yesterday's events during lunch hour. They talked about the fight along with Jenny. "System" Alec called slowly "Are you there?" "Yes, Alexander Todd" The system's loud voice came through his head. Alec sighed, shaking his head and simultaneously rolling h
Jeremy walked over to the computer systems with Heidi by his side. The other members also got busy getting weapons and some of them planning with Heidi and Jeremy on how to take down the new threat, while Alec stood on a spot watching everyone. Jeremy's eyes were hard with concentration as he operated on the computer system with fast fingers. "Okay, let's see who we're gonna be dealing with"He zoomed in on the super human so everyone could get a clear view of it. "Alright. It's just a small guy, he doesn't even looks like he's got enough fighting skills. At least, he shouldn't be as strong and swift as Alec, and..." Jeremy paused and typed rapidly on the keyboard and narrowed his eyes "The guy destroyed mainly vehicles""But why?" Alec asked. "That's a good question" Jeremy said, standing straight "Heidi, please keep your eyes on the screen, check up other things you can about this little guy, okay? I'm going with Alec to deal with the superhuman" "You want me to go out there wi
The moment Jeremy left, the iron man materialized right in front of Alec, and raised his arm to go for a direct face hit. The hand action was sluggish to Alec, giving him time to lower his head in other to prevent the punch from hitting him. "Xander, are you there?" He quickly contacted the system. It beeped and said a yes. Alec saw another jab coming from the iron man, but he held the iron man's fist and tried to push him backwards, but his opponent was too strong. Alec grunted, exerting more power to the push. He recalled Xander studied Jeremy's strength and weaknesses during their first fight, Alec decided to ask Xander about the iron man's weakness. "I hope you've got a weakness, Xander?" "No"Alec blinked, getting distracted "What do you mean, no?"The iron man grabbed Alec by the arm and easily threw him to the other side of the road with violence. Alec groaned "Xander, what have you been doing? I need this guy's weakness ASAP" "Processing weakness and strength" Xander
Jeremy and Alec stood in front of the brick cell with a transparent thick glass door. It was built in the past for superhumans like the iron man. They watched him from the monitor fixed at the side of the brick to display whatever the cameras in his cell had captured. The iron man was screaming and throwing his arms out like a maniac, but everything was pointless. "There is no iron for you to feed off from, little boy" Jeremy taunted. The veins in his neck popped out "I am not a little boy!""Yes, you are" Jeremy mouthed, shaking his head. "Why don't you tell us what you want with Prof Smith"The iron man simpered "I thought you were smart enough to know that, but it turned out you are all dummies""Well, the dummies took you down" Alec remarked.Jeremy laughed pressing a button to whine down a tinted glass over the transparent one, then he began to walk away with Alec. "You can't keep me here, forever!" He vociferated. Jeremy rolled his eyes. "Isn't that what all prisoners say?
Alec met the superhuman down the hallway while Jeremy and Heidi walked closely behind him, their eyes focused on the superhuman. The superhuman is quite tall and built. Alec knew from a glance that he was the definition of trouble. Some students were hanging in the hallway, shaking in fear at the frightening sight of the superhuman. They knew he was capable of hurting them, and was scared to take a step away. The superhuman sighted Alec and his friends. He glanced at the pens in the hands of the trembling students. His eyes rolled and glowed to control the pens. The pens disappeared from their hands and hung in the air. He directed the sharp mouth of the pens towards Alec and his friends. Alec was the first to notice where the direction of the pens were going, and how it was going to hurt them. The sharp tip of the pen is going towards their eyes with speed. "Holy fuck" He quickly stood in front of his friends to protect them and with his speed he was able to grab the pens befo
Alec and Jeremy glared at the iron guy from the monitor that displayed the face of the iron man. He laughed mockingly at Alec and Jeremy. "You really think you can get a word outta me?" The guy laughed harder, then suddenly stopped and clenched his jaw "Hell no!" "Oh, this guy is not okay upstairs, he needs medical attention, badly" Jeremy insulted, watching him with observing eyes. "You are happy with the way things are turning out, aren't you?" Alec asked the iron guy, the baritone of his voice very evident. "You're happy that someone is also out there trying to hurt people, destroy the city, just like you did. You are fucking happy!" "You got that right, pretty boy" He sneered at them "I'll be outta here very soon and I'm gonna make sure I beat both of your asses up" A muscle in Jeremy's neck twitched. "Son of a bitch" He jammed his hand on the button at the side to pull down the thick tinted glass. "He's gonna rot in there" Jeremy and Alec both started to walk away at th
Ever since the discovery of Alec's genetic makeup, Jeremy had always viewed him in a different way, like maybe one day, he would feel too powerful and torment people the way other superhuman does. He made it part of his routine to observe Alec closely in case he develops a bad character that comes along with being a superhuman. Jeremy knows Alec is a good person and would not change his personality, but there are some bad vibes these superpowers bring, Jeremy doesn't want that for Alec. Alec never knew Heidi and Jeremy knows about his gene alteration, and he doesn't know about Jeremy studying him. "Oohh" Alec squealed throwing his arms up as he entered the training room "Thank God it's Friday!" "I thought I was the only one that love Fridays" Jeremy remarked with a smirk, studying Alec's reaction. Alec took off his shirt for his training session, giving Heidi a nice view of his attractive chest. "It means end of school troubles""Temporarily" Jeremy added, quoting with his finger
Alec observed the hallway, glancing at the rooms at each sides of the hall, but he couldn't point the exact room Movement was hiding. He knows if he luckily barges into the room Movement is, he might be walking straight into a trap set down for him, but if he treads carefully, Movement might be the one falling into a trap. "Movement got away from Alec, I'm shutting down the building. The telekinetic asshole is not escaping this time" Jeremy soliloquized, moving his fingers on the keyboard to automatically lock all doors and pull down an iron cover for all windows. "Let's hope he doesn't unlock it telekinetically" He said. "Do you think Alec will be able to find Movement? He has not familiarized himself with all the rooms here" Heidi said, keeping her worried eyes on the monitor. "I need to go out there to help him" Jeremy mumbled taking a step away but Heidi held his arm tightly to stop him. "No, Jeremy. That's like suicide, Movement is gonna kill you if he finds you" Heidi told
