Chapter 5 Prison

Lawrence POV

I felt that my body was burning as if it was melting by magma. My unconscious thoughts made it difficult for me to judge and know where I was. I just relied on my physical instinct and followed my favourite taste to find there.

I hugged and kissed the woman in my arms. I was still thinking about these days. I met Stella before I came to the apartment to look for Eleanor.

Since Stella made things worse, Logan was furious, resolutely divorced her, and moved out of their home.

When I went to find Stella, Stella had been sitting at the door waiting for several days. His husband didn't come back and wouldn't answer the phone, but she still waited stubbornly. The nearby neighbours were worried about her condition, so they tried to contact me.

Seeing me, Stella went a little crazy, "Lawrence, will you help me get Logan back? Logan was taken away by that woman again. You should bring him back to me as soon as possible."

Stella's hair was in a mess. She didn't rest for a few days, and her face was very tired. She looked flustered and lost her mind.

It felt very painful to see my sister become like this. I squatted down, hugged Stella, and asked again, "Stella, forget him. He's gone."

"No, it won't." Stella pushed me away, her eyes filled with tears. "He'll come back. That woman confused him and made him lose his mind temporarily. I believe he loves me, Lawrence. You know that Logan wanted to marry me, right? Then we own this house. This is our home. He promised that he won't leave it."

She kept holding my hand and begging, "Lawrence, do you remember when I was a child, my beloved teddy bear was lost. We went out to play together. We were playing hide and seek. I put the teddy bear in the hiding cabinet. Later, when I came home, I couldn't find it. It was late, but you still went out to help me find it." Stella's tears came down, "At that time, my brother said that he would do anything as long as I was happy."

I also remembered the incident. I remembered everything about Stella from childhood to that time.

As long as I could make Stella happy, I was willing to do anything for her and wanted her to be the happiest girl in the world.

I closed my eyes painfully and told Stella, "I am responsible for your happiness because I'm your brother."

I especially emphasized the word "brother" to reassure Stella and remind myself. Stella and I are just brothers and sisters. I am Stella's brother. I should make Stella feel happy always. Even if I did not give this happiness, as long as Stella liked it, I should do it.

Stella once told me that Logan is the one who can bring her happiness. Therefore, no matter how reluctant I was, I still chose to bless her and let Logan marry my sister, even if it was obvious that Logan could only bring pain to Stella.

Then, everything was ruined.

From Stella's eyes, I only saw madness and pain. My sister shouldn't be like this.

Stella asked, "My brother, you'll protect me, won't you?"

I nodded, "Of course, I'll guard you forever."

I told myself in my heart that even as a brother, I would not let anyone hurt my sister again.

Stella held me on my knees. "So, can you help me get him back?"

I frowned. "Stella, I don't want to make you sad, but there's one thing I have to remind you again. It is about Logan. He doesn't love you at all. He married you because of our Alpha. He's a Beta and doesn't dare to disobey us. That's not love, okay?"

Stella still stubbornly said, "No! He must love me. It's all because of that woman. Just please help me find him back. He will come back sooner or later, but I need him now."

Stella closed the door. She didn't seem to want to see me except Logan.

I had to help her find Logan. But that day, I was in a bad mood, just like the clouds in the sky. Then I thought of that woman, that woman named Eleanor. 'Has she left?'

I didn't understand the magic of that woman. After all, Logan used to obey us and didn't dare to disobey us, but then Logan would rather risk offending us than divorce Stella to stay with that woman.

As Stella said, that woman confused Logan.

However, the experience in the underground parking lot made it clear to me that the woman had never had anything with Logan. She was still a virgin.

With this feeling, I looked around for Logan's whereabouts. I learned from my subordinates that Logan often went in and out of a cheap apartment. It was easy to speculate that the woman named Eleanor must live here. Sure enough, when I came here, I smelled the woman.

It was weak, but it was enough for me to find Eleanor.
