Chapter 4 Insane

Eleanor's POV

I returned to the company and stood in front of the company's stairs. Then, I looked at the empty company with some hesitation.

I could only carefully go up the stairs. I wished Stella and that insane man had gone.

"Eleanor!"

I was suddenly patted on the back. I was terrified. It reminded me of being forcibly taken away in the underground parking lot.

I turned in horror, but it was just my colleague, Harley Johnson.

"Harley?" When I saw my colleague's face, I was a little relieved. "Why are you still here?"

It was not working time, and he was the warehouse dispatcher of our company. Generally, he should have gone home from work long ago.

Well, Harley was a very warm-hearted man with golden hair. He was still in his twenties. People in our company liked him very much.

Harley answered my question calmly, "Mr. Buster said that the company has some discarded cartons for me to take away. He asked me to wait for him here. So, why are you still here, Eleanor?"

I hesitated but still explained, "So, I've come home late, but I found that I left the key to the apartment on my desk in the office. I can't enter my house without the key, right?"

Harley asked, "So Eleanor, are you going into the office?" He pulled me aside and whispered, "I'm sorry, I just saw Mr. Christopher's wife coming, but isn't Mr. Christopher, your boyfriend? Oh! And his wife looks terrible. She smashed a lot of things in Mr. Christopher's office. Although I don't know what happened, I suggest you don't go there first to avoid any trouble."

I didn't know how to explain it to Harley. But I thanked him so much for telling me that fact, "Oh my God, Harley, thanks for your consideration. But, how about my key?"

Harley looked in the direction upstairs and said, "I think that woman should still be in Mr. Christopher's office. But it's on the sixth floor, and our office is on the fourth floor, right? In my opinion, she shouldn't find us that easy. I'll go with you to find the key. It's just that we have to hurry up. That woman seems to be a werewolf. You know, werewolves are born with good hearing and smell."

I felt blessed, "Thanks, Harley. But no matter what happens later, you should remember to protect yourself first, okay?"

Harley and I came to the office, and he saw the papers that had been on the desk were scattered because of the conflict between Stella and me. Harley exclaimed, "My God, has this been robbed?"

I looked around for the key, and soon, I saw it under my desk. I had to kneel and stretch out my hand to get the key because the key fell in a tricky position.

At that time, Stella's voice rang out at the office door, "Shameless bitch, what are you coming back? Are you looking for death?"

I grabbed the key hurriedly and stood up. "Stella, I'm sorry, I just came back to get my key."

Stella rushed up, grabbed my hand, and asked, "I just went to Logan's office, but he didn't there. He went to your house, didn't he?"

I dare not lie to her, so I could only say the hurtful truth, "Yeah, but he left. I didn't let him stay."

Stella looked like she was going insane, which made me very nervous and scared. I tried to tell her, "I've broken up with Logan. I won't see him again. I'm sorry to hurt you because of our business, but I didn't know that Mr. Christopher was married."

I held my hand carefully and touched Stella's arm to calm her down, "Stella, let everything pass, okay?"

She seemed to be stimulated and suddenly threw me aside.

My stomach hit the edge of my desk. It was excruciating and made me cry out.

Stella rushed up to me, "Are you showing off to me? What did you say? Did you confess to me that Logan had come to you? Do you think Logan will come back to me after you broke up with him?"

Stella was obviously out of control now. No matter what I said, she would be angry with that.

She grabbed my neck and even tried to kill me. I could only pull her hand desperately.

I couldn't speak clearly because she choked my neck, "Stella... Please... don't do... this..."

Frightened by the sudden conflict, Harley stood at the office door and quickly recovered. He came forward and grabbed Stella, "Madam, please let go of her first. "I think you need to calm down and have a good talk. It's not good to recover the problem in this violent way."

Harley tried to hold Stella, but she was thrown away by Stella. The power of werewolves was not comparable to that of ordinary humans like us.

Harley hit the cabinet behind him. The glass on the cabinet was broken. He fell to his knees and looked very painful because of the pain.

At this time, a figure rushed in. It was the man who had been in the underground parking lot before. He grabbed Stella and told her to let go of me, "Stella, calm down. This is the company."

Stella cried, "Lawrence, I can't live without Logan. If he leaves me, I'll die." She grabbed Lawrence and begged, "Would you help me kill her so Logan won't leave me again?"

Harley couldn't believe Stella's confession, "Hey, are you insane? This is our company. I don't allow you to do anything to my colleagues."

Lawrence looked at me sarcastically, and his voice cooled down, "It seems that you know how to control men to be fascinated by you and do anything for you, Eleanor. That's how you pretend to be weak and force Logan to divorce Stella, isn't it?"

Lawrence's words hurt my heart. Although I explained it many times, he refused to believe me.

In the next scene, Stella threw Lawrence away and attacked me. I was so scared that I subconsciously picked up the glass decorations on the table and threw them at her.

Lawrence acted quickly.

Harley and I, who seemed to be hit by some force, fell out. I hit the display board in the office, and the glass fragment scratched my arm.

As I struggled to get up, Lawrence's figure flashed in front of me. He grabbed my neck with one hand and directly lifted me. "I said you were not allowed to hurt Stella."

I thought I was going to suffocate. This breathless feeling reminded me of the experience of drowning when I was a child.

Harley got up from the ground, picked up the chair by the wall, and threw it at Lawrence. Lawrence let me go and avoided Harley's attack.

Harley stood in front of me. He was hurt and had blood on his face. "Please get out of here, or I'll call the police."

Lawrence's blue-gray eyes looked at me, full of sarcasm and ridicule, "Killing a shameless woman as you will only stain my hands with dirt." He hugged Stella and walked out. "This is the last warning. Don't let me see you again."

Seeing him leave with Stella, I was finally relieved. I knelt and lost my strength.

Harley came up and tried to help me up. "Eleanor, are you okay? What's going on? Does Mr. Christopher know about it?"

I shook my head and apologized to him, "I'm sorry, Harley, I'm the one who bothered you."

Harley said, "No, Eleanor, you're hurt. I'll take you back."

I declined, "That's all right now, Harley. I don't want to trouble you anymore and put you in danger just now." I picked up the key on the ground and said, "I can do it myself. Please believe it, and..." I smiled bitterly and said, "I'm leaving here. Please apologize to me. I would never see you and the other again start from today."

I returned to my rented apartment, began to pack up my belongings, and returned the house to the landlord.

I had planned to return to Bristol tomorrow, but unfortunately, I soon received terrible news. Due to a strong typhoon disaster in a city on the way, the flight was attacked by airflow, and the plane broke down. It needed maintenance for a few days to take off again, which meant that my trip to Bristol had to be delayed for a few more days.

In the past few days, I stayed in my room and dared not go out, trying to create the illusion that I had left.

That night, my cell phone suddenly rang.

I was terrified. I thought it was Logan, but it turned out that my good friend, Madison Penelope, wanted to do a video call.

Seeing my face on the phone made me very scared and thought of the underground parking lot instantly.

What should I do next to that man?

I clicked on the video call, and Madison's voice came out. "Hi, Eleanor, how are you doing?"

I smiled at her reluctantly and said, "I'm fine, just like before."

Madison was a friend I had known since childhood. We grew up together. She was always enthusiastic and full of a sense of justice.

Even if my situation was chaotic enough now, I needed to calm down and shouldn't make any more trouble at that time. So, I tried to calm down and acted as everything was okay.

Those two werewolves didn't look easy to mess with. I didn't want Madison to meet them and be in danger.

In the video, Madison was running at home. She wore very tight and sexy sportswear, showing her very healthy muscles. She smiled and asked, "I'm curious about the kind of man that Uncle Peter said. Bring him back sometime, and let's meet each other."

I was trying to find an excuse to refuse Madison when a familiar voice suddenly sounded behind me, "Who are you talking to?"
