The duo found themselves in a sticky situation. Their way back had a large blockage and their way forward carried a big risk. Taeyang looked at the centipede and then at the family of rats. Yinyue - What do we do?Taeyang heard her whisper, from her tone she didn’t sound worried. As if she didn’t find the situation dangerous in the slightest. He didn’t know if he should consider it a good thing or a bad thing. ‘The centipede is… is blind. Then it’s the one I fought before,’ Taeyang thought. Taeyang - You can sense the presence around you, can you also sense or gauge their strength? Yinyue - Yeah, I can, can’t you?Taeyang - Not really. Yinyue frowned at Taeyang, she found it weird that he couldn’t determine their strength. He scratched his head and gave a her a wry smile.Yinyue - Most of those horned rats are as strong as you. There’s only one as strong as I am. That worm is almost as strong as me, but I think because of an error in its growth or some eternal force it is weaker.
Yinyue - I see light at the end of this tunnel.Taeyang - Be careful, we don’t know what’s out there. Yinyue - Okay. After several hours, the duo finally made it out of the mine. They stood at the exit (entrance) of the tunnel and received the greetings of the sky. It greeted them with heavy snowfall. They found four huts just outside the tunnel and beyond the huts stood a forest of trees with snow as leaves. ??? - Who goes there? A crude voice sounded beside them. They turned and found an old man seated on the ground. If he had not spoken they would not have noticed him. ??? - Outsiders!Another voice came from their front. Dozens of people stepped out of the hut, and each of them bared hostility towards them. Each clad in thick clothing made from white animal fur and possessed at least one weapon. The men had a black cross on their right cheek and the women had a crescent moon on their left cheek. Taeyang grabbed Yinyue by the hand, and pulled her behind him. Instinctively, h
*****A few hours later, a knock on the front door interrupted Taeyang’s cultivation. Yinyue lay by his side, still sound asleep. He got up quietly, and made his way to the front door. “Greetings sir.”The sun seemed to be setting, and Taeyang found four villagers at the door; three of them ladies, and one, a bald young man. The four bowed and greeted when they saw him. “I’m Mo Yu. The chieftain sent us here,” the young man said. “These are Gu Lan and Gu Yan; they will serve as your maids.”Two of the ladies bowed while Mo Yu spoke. They shared similar facial features, with their only distinctive features being their eyes and hair style. One had yellow-colored eyes and wore pigtails, the other had green-colored eyes and her hair fell freely down her shoulders. Mo Yu - This is my younger sister, Mo Ying. We are both responsible for your protection. The third lady hissed at his words, and Taeyang could tell from the look in her brown eyes, she didn’t like him. Like her brother, she
The morning came in a flash, and a knock on the door interrupted Taeyang. Yinyue opened her eyes as soon as the knock sounded. Her eyes were clear as if she had not just woken up.“Excuse me sir and ma. This is Gu Yan, the chieftain is here to see you,” a voice sounded from behind the door.Yinyue got up, her sudden movements surprised Taeyang, who didn’t know she had woken up. She stretched her body; the bones in her arms, and back cracked. Taeyang - We’ll be there in a minute. Taeyang replied Gu Yan, while he watched Yinyue stretched. When she found him looking, she flashed him a smile.Yinyue - Good morning!Taeyang - Good morning, did you sleep well. Yinyue nodded. Although she had been on guard, she did sleep well. She didn’t let Taeyang know of the killing intent she sensed last night because it had not been directed to them. And because she didn’t want to worry him.Taeyang - Let’s go. She nodded, and the duo made their way out of the room. With her yellow-colored eyes and
“To think he actually chose that?”“That’s the cursed sword, right? Haha.”“I can’t believe this.”“He really must be unlucky.”“Haha, seriously though is it really okay to have him in our village?”Everyone laughed to their heart content and made fun of him. Taeyang understood from the comments they made the sword he chose had a curse on it. Old Shen - That’s enough. Bian Hong, spar with him.Old Shen spoke and the compound returned to its initial silence. Everyone kept their mouth shut and dared not utter a word. A young man stood up; he held a sword in his left hand. Not much taller Taeyang, nevertheless he had a better physique than Taeyang. He walked up to Taeyang, took a bow and raised his sword at him. The gaze he gave Taeyang had been one of a predator up on its prey. Taeyang had seen this gaze before; the village children always tried to bully him and some adults had picked on him, and in their eyes he had seen the same gaze. So he knew Bian Hong wanted to hurt him bad. Ol
Taeyang - What the hell?He yelled in confusion. ‘What is this?’ he thought. Everyone around had their eyes wide open. Some had the look of confusion while others had a look of fear on their faces. Old Shen - Haha, after so long something interesting finally happened. Unlike everyone else, old Shen laughed his heart out. His lips curved to his ears, and his eyes twinkled like bright stars. Without a doubt everyone could see how extremely happy he looked.Old Shen - You all should leave. Someone get Bian Hong out of the tree. ??? - Yes sir. The group chorused and got to their feet. They bowed at old Shen before they headed toward the gate. A few of them walked up to Bian Hong. Old Shen walked up Taeyang; the smile still evident on his face.Old Shen - Interesting! He examined Taeyang’s hands and exclaimed. Taeyang could only wonder what exactly made him so happy. Yinyue walked over to them reluctantly, and Taeyang could see the fear on her face. Old Shen - Come with me.Old Shen
Old Shen - Huh? What’s going on? Old Shen halted when he found the serpent on Taeyang’s body moving. Taeyang’s breathing had relaxed; he no longer gasped for air. Old Shen - Interesting, it seems I don’t have to do anything. Taeyang lay quiet and at eased. The pain had subsided, his blood no longer boiled, and both his vision and hearing returned back. He never wants to experience again. Old Shen - Are you alright? Taeyang - Yeah, I am. He took a deep breath and exhaled. The pain had reduced, nonetheless it hurt bad. He struggled to a seated position, and faced old Shen. His brows corrugated when he saw the compound. Large holes and footprints, collapsed building and several tress fallen. Taeyang looked at old Shen and then at Yinyue. Taeyang - What’s going on? Yinyue - Taeyang! Taeyang let out an “ah!” as Yinyue dived him. She hugged him tight and buried her face in his chest. Taeyang looked at old Shen then at his surroundings. It felt weird seeing the change that
Taeyang stared at the cave entrance that old Shen had led him to. He had followed without a question and curiosity ate him from within. They stopped before the cave but old Shen turned around.Old Shen - You don’t need to follow us anymore. “Yes sir,” Mo Ying’s voice sounded. Taeyang turned but found no one. He saw no signs of being followed. He found just the setting sun behind, the grasses and a few trees that witness their arrival. Old Shen - Let’s go.He walked in and clapped his hands and the dark cave lit up. On the ceiling laid several stones that glowed bright. Similar stones to the ones Taeyang saw in the weapon’s room. Though much bigger and brighter. Old Shen led the way for them and after five minutes walk and a few bends, they arrived at a large room. ‘This is the largest cave room have seen,’ Taeyang thought. Almost as large as old Shen’s compound, the cave room possessed a large, milky pool at the center. Above the pool the sky could be seen. The sun had almost set.
*Three Weeks Later*“Yes! Yes!” Mitsubishi yelled as he got on his feet. “Yang Xiao, I’ve reached the peak like you. Huh?” To his surprised Yang Xiao stood at a far end of the cave studying the array. Too focused, he had not heard a word Mitsubishi had said. He muttered some words to himself as he jolts than on a book with an ink brush. Mitsubishi walked up to him. “What are you doing?”“My goodness!” Yang Xiao yelled. “You scared me.”“What are you doing?” Mitsubishi asked again while glancing at the book.“Huh? Oh, I’m studying the array,” Yang Xiao replied.“Why not cultivate and get to…”“With the amount of Qi here I can break through to the Core formation, but it’s not safe here. If I end up attracting others that won’t be good,” Yang Xiao said. “That’s true.”“Besides, with a good material like this my attainment in the dao of arrays will increase by leaps and bounds,” said Yang Xiao with a big smile and great joy in his heart. “I just need to understand it, that’s the hard p
‘What’s on your mind?’ Taeyang asked. ‘Your mood is affecting mine.’ He brushed Yinyue’s hair while staring at the vortex before him. His ticket out of here stared at him in the face, yet he had no way of getting to it. ‘Ah,’ Hiroshi sighed. ‘I’m wondering how powerful is the one who turned the Lost world into a prison.’ Taeyang brushed Yinyue’s hair in silence as Hiroshi continued. ‘He/she must be powerful and well versed in the law of space.’ ‘Law of space?’ Taeyang asked. ‘Don’t worry about it for now. You are far too early for laws,’ replied Hiroshi. ‘Okay.’ ‘By the way can you feel that pulling force around you?’ Hiroshi asked. ‘Pulling force?’ ‘Yeah, the one that’s been pulling energy towards you.’ ‘I don’t sense it,’ Taeyang said as he closed his eyes. For a few minutes he sensed his surroundings. ‘I don’t sense anything.’ ‘I see. That space is pulling energy towards you. It’s a good thing but it could be dangerous,’ Hiroshi said. ‘We’ll let it be until m
*Unknown Location* “How the hell did you guys know?” yelled a man, grabbing Mitsubishi’s collar with both hands. “Yang Xiao’s gut,” Mitsubishi replied. “He has a very good gut when it comes to danger.” “Do you expect us to believe that?” yelled the man again. “Tell us are you a spy?” “You are a dumbass. We saved your live, all your lives and you question if we are a spy?” Mitsubishi asked with a frown. Dozens of people around kept quiet as he continued. “Tell me, do you even understand what happened there? Do any of you?” No one responded. They couldn’t comprehend what happened. Was it a trap? If so why did their enemies get caught in it? It just didn’t add up. Mitsubishi forcefully freed himself from the man’s grip. With a sigh he faced Yang Xiao who laid unconscious on the floor. ‘Don’t worry, I’ll protect you,’ he said in his head. “In any case we are alive,” a feminine voice said. Everyone turned to the owner of the voice, a red hair lady sitting on a large rock. “L
*Unknown Location* The dark sky roared as it cried. Its tears washed everything beneath it. Today, it plan on cleanse everything, from the grasses to the trees, to the insects that crawls, to the creatures of the land and the creatures of the sky. In a valley between two hills, the clanking of metals rang out. The sky’s roar couldn’t fully overshadow it. Yells and screams of agony could be heard as two groups fought an intensive battle. Members of each drew blood while putting their life on the line. Behind one of the groups, a black flag stood tall. On it a red moon stood above an howling wolf. The characters, ‘SCARLET MOON’ was written boldly on the flag. Five people stood beside it, three old men, one woman and a young man. The down pour did not bother their focus. They watched the battle ready to act at any moment. Stalemate was the best word to describe the current flow of the battle. Neither sides were winning nor losing. “Who knew bandits could put up a fight like
“Felt it right?” Old Shen asked. “That lad was lying to us about something.” He stood beside the chieftain who sat down on a cliff. The sun was at its peak and the sky as clear as it could be. “Whether he lied or not, we have to be careful. If that ancient beasts really resides in his body, then using him as a sacrifice for our curse will be hard,” the chieftain said. “Hard not impossible?” Old Shen asked. “Hard,” the chieftain replied. “That ancient beast may be powerful, but it can be restricted after all its just a soul residue.” “What should be our next move then?” “We’ll allow him cultivate in there for three months. With his talent and the resources there, he should reach the low-tier core formation realm.” “Is it really alright to leave him in there?” Old Shen asked. “What if he finds that thing?”“He won’t. Only Nascent soul masters can sense it,” the chieftain replied. “Tell the people to start preparing, we leave this realm in three months.”“Alright.”****Two Weeks L
The lizard jumped out of the water. It wiggled its head from side to side to get rid of the water. After a while the duo came out completely dry.“How did I do?” Yinyue asked with a big smile on her face. “Great,” Taeyang said as he pat her on the head. She closed her, curved her lips into a smile and enjoyed it. He turned to the lizard and said. {You may go back.}The lizard let out a cry before it jumped into the water. Taeyang turned and found Yinyue’s fixed gaze on him. She said no words and just stared at him.“What?” he asked. “Hmm, how can you speak to it?”“Oh, I met someone who taught me how,” Taeyang replied with a smile. “Though, the person is gone now.”“That’s bad.”“Yeah. Come on, let’s go.” Taeyang stretched his hand out and she took it. Together they made their way out of the cave. Taeyang turned to the sky. The moon stood proudly up high in the dark sky, while the stars complemented it. “Can you take us to the chief?” he asked. “Alright,” Yinyue replied. An ice pla
+Author Here+First, I want to thank you all for your support. I really appreciate everything you do. Second, Due to some reasons, I’ll be changing the writing style/pattern. The current writing style has proven difficult for me.Third, I want to thank you all again. +++*Three Weeks Plus* “Come on,” Yinyue called out while she held the two swords made of ice.The lizard replied with a roar even though it didn’t understand her. For the past weeks, Yinyue attacked it from time to time. In the first week, it only defended itself because of Taeyang’s instruction. It didn’t want to harm her in anyways. However, by the second week, it got infuriated and fought back. Though it didn’t attack seriously, it did its best to frighten Yinyue. It made sure not to harm and gave her time to dodge. Yinyue on the other hand didn’t back down. She kept fighting day by day, until she was tired.By the third week it understood her intentions. It fought more seriously and didn’t mind hurting her a bit.
*Meanwhile* “Why did you let him go there?” Old Shen drank his tea while he listened to the chieftain. As always, her eyes were closed but her expression unfriendly. He let out a sigh after taking a very deep breath. She had come to see him in his place and met him drinking tea underneath a tree. When she asked about Taeyang he told her everything without hiding anything. He understood why she was worried but— Old Shen - In the future you saw, he took us out, right? So why are you scared? Chieftain - The people may not know but you and I know the future I see can change. It isn’t fixed. Old Shen - Nine out of ten it doesn’t change. So why are you afraid? Besides, he has the marking of an ancient beast. Chieftain - I really hope he doesn’t di—— The chieftain paused, her eyes opened and her breathing halted. From afar she sensed something she had never sensed before. Old Shen - What’s wrong? She didn’t reply, rather she faced the right. Old Shen smiled and
??? - You want me to teach you? Under the bright full moon, Yinyue stood before the chieftain, head bowed. The chieftain, who wondered how Yinyue found her place, faced the little girl with her eyes closed. A humble home in a small-sized compound. Two tree stood on either side of the building; one of which had white leaves and the other black leaves from top to bottom. Both of which gave Yinyue a weird feeling. Yinyue stood before her home, pleading to be taught. Chieftain - I can’t. Her clear voice hit Yinyue hard. She bit her lips, got on her knees, and bowed on the ground. She didn’t plan on taking no for an answer, definitely not. Chieftain - Even if you roll on the floor I can’t. Yinyue’s fingers dug into the ground then tightened into a fist. Longing to protect what was precious to her, she had rushed over to the strongest in the village. Yet she had been rejected. She felt and knew, no other person in the village could teach her for they had something in com
