Chapter 10
The person waiting outside the door was naturally the president of Fantastic Group, Stellar Walker.

How could he be negligent to the order of the Great One?

After giving a response, Stellar immediately stepped away and did not show up again.

Everyone would have frozen to the spot if they learned that Stellar had become Fred's errand boy.

However, the Cadman family did not see his face, so...

"What did he just say? Did you guys hear that? In ten minutes, all the doctors of Ph.D. level and above in Sea City would come here to give a consultation. What a joke!"

One of the Cadmans laughed in a teasing tone. "Fred, in these five years, it's the first time I found you so good at acting! Do you want all the professors and higher-ups in Sea City to come here? Who do you think you are? Why don't you just say you'll have the best hospital in Sea City moved here directly instead?"

"If needed, it's not impossible!" Fred said blandly.

"Listen to him! He's engrossed in his delusions!"

The Cadman family member directly criticized Fred and recklessly mocked him.

"Oh, maybe he's actually a young man from a wealthy family, and he's come to our Cadman family by proxy!"

"Him? If he was, how could he remain a loser in our family for five years?"

"He's just a loser that has achieved nothing, what else can he do but pretend and daydream? You expect him to do great things?"

The other people at this moment also mocked him, with faces of disdain, not believing Fred's words.

Getting those doctors with high qualifications in Sea City to come over in ten minutes?

The people he was talking about all had great achievements in the medical field, and most of them were the head of their own hospitals!

Even the Hanks and Grahams families would have to show great courtesy when inviting these people over.

However, Fred, who was known as a wimp and a loser in Sea City, thought he could get them to come over with just one word.

What else could this be called other than daydreaming?

"Fred!!!"

Valerie, who had not intervened because of her previous sense of guilt, finally spoke up this time.

She walked up, shoved Fred, and said indignantly. "Do you know what you are saying?"

"Whatever there was between you and me, I can pretend it never happened! But that's my dad lying in there! Today...I had to beg so hard in front of Mr. Hanks to get the best treatment for my dad. Do you want to ruin it all for him?

"I hate you! I hate you so much! Before this, even if we were to divorce, I would still think you are an honest person, but now...just for the sake of putting up an act...you put my father's life at risk. Do you even have a heart?"

"Well, Valerie, it's not like you don't know what type of person he is, so why bother!" Karen, who was at the side, immediately stepped forward to pull Valerie back, while disdainfully glancing at Fred.

Taking a deep breath, Valerie stabilized her emotions, then reached out to the door and said, "Get out! Now, right now! I never want to see you again!"

When these words came out, the expressions on the faces of the people instantly became joyous.

In fact, everyone knew that over the past five years, they had called Fred out time and time again for being a useless loser. Fred was probably already numb to it.

Otherwise, how could there not have been so much as a half-hearted response from him in those five years?

Valerie, however, was different!

As Fred's wife, even if they did not have the proper bond as a couple, they have been married for five years!

After the Graham family came knocking on their door, Valerie humiliated Fred in front of everyone, even mentioning divorce.

When he arrived, Fred had gone straight to Valerie and asked who Yousef was. Anyone could tell that Fred still cared about Valerie.

As the saying went, the more you cared, the deeper the pain will be.

They thought wrong, however. Fred still could feel some disappointment toward his wife, Valerie, before this. However, when he saw Valerie in Yousef's arms, even the disappointment had disappeared.

In its place, there was only indifference.

"Are you done?"

Fred, who had not spoken but waited for Valerie to finish her sentence, finally spoke coldly. "Letting you finish your sentence is a sign of my respect for you, my nominal wife. But asking me to leave is not up to you!"

"It's not up to me? Then who is it up to?" Valerie immediately shot back.

"I'm here to see my father-in-law, so naturally it's up to him!” Fred said indifferently.

As soon as the words left his mouth, the Cadman family instantly showed contemptuous looks.

Father-in-law?

Eric was critically ill at the moment—they did not know whether he could even wake up from it.

What did Fred mean by saying that only Eric could make the decision?

In their view, that seemed like a deadbeat refusal to leave!

"Fred, have you no shame?"

His mother-in-law, Karen, did not give Fred any respect at all and scolded him in front of everyone. "In the past five years, your clothing, housing, transportation, and food were all covered by the Cadman family. Even a dog knows how to repay a favor. Because of you, not only was our family's crisis not averted, the Graham family even came knocking on our door. Today, Mr. Hanks had just taken care of Valerie's father's treatment. You spoiled things here, and now you still have the gall to remain?"

"Oh, I told you all from the beginning that even if Fred was raised by our family, he will still be a dog that can’t be tamed! It seems I'm right!"

"A dog? To compare him to a dog is simply an insult to other canines. Fred is simply worse than a dog!"

"Get out! Get out of here! We can't even hold up their heads up in Sea City because of a loser like you!"

The Cadman family's disdain and mockery of Fred seemed like an endless stream, and Fred's gaze grew colder and colder.

He was here because of a promise and to return a favor!

He spent five whole years sheltering the Cadman family from the wind and rain, taking care of the entire Cadman family.

In their eyes, however, he was worse than a dog?

This was the last straw!

The coldness in Fred's eyes grew stronger and stronger, but it flickered away the moment it reached its peak and there was no outburst.

After all, they had already decided to divorce, so why bother with them at all?

Besides, today was the day that the five-year period was expiring. It was only a few hours compared to the timespan of five years.

Thinking of this, Fred slowly turned around and made to leave.

Yousef, who had been assaulted, saw this and did not want to leave things as they were!

"You want to leave?"

Yousef coughed lightly, which instantly made everyone quiet, and then he sneered. "Fred, thinking of leaving already? You just said you would call all the qualified doctors over, and you're going to pretend it didn't happen? Oh, I was watching the time, ten minutes is almost up!"

"Mr. Hanks, he's just pretending and is lost in his daydreams. Did you really believe it?"

One of the Cadmans immediately said ingratiatingly. "I know what sort of person Fred is. If a Ph.D. level doctor were to come over, I'll drink all the water in the toilet bowl from the washroom behind us..."

Knock knock knock!

Before the sentence was finished, a knock on the door suddenly drew the crowd’s attention.

They saw a middle-aged man with a big belly, drenched in sweat, who walked in and asked, “Excuse me...which one of you is Mr. Hoffman?”
