Chapter 8
"You...you..."

Looking at Fred who slowly stood up in front of him, Three was even more surprised than when Fred caught the baseball bat with one hand just now.

Three was the Graham family's head mercenary, and the younger Mr. Graham had always coveted Valerie.

So to please Mr. Graham, his understanding of Fred's background was not inferior to anyone else's. He even had more in-depth knowledge compared to the rest.

Because of this, Three knew that Fred had been in a wheelchair since he became the infamous son-in-law of the Cadman family five years ago.

However, Fred was now...he actually got up from his wheelchair?

How was this possible?

Could it be that Fred was just pretending before?

This act...was five years long!

How much perseverance did it take for someone to pretend for five years that his legs were disabled and that he could not get himself up to the ground?

Soon, Three controlled his inner amazement, gritted his teeth, and said fiercely, "Whether you were faking it or not, Mr. Graham has instructed that you should be bedridden for the rest of your life. Even if you are pretending, I will help you break both legs for real!"

The first thing Three had to do was take back the baseball bat that Fred grabbed, so that he could continue to give Fred a beating.

However...

The next second, Three's expression changed.

The bat did not budge at all!

Indeed, the baseball bat was essentially stuck to Fred's hands. No matter how much force or strength he used, it did not move at all and could not be taken back.

Three suddenly exclaimed. "Fred, you...what witchcraft is this?"

Fred's face was expressionless, and he said indifferently, "You want this? You can have it!"

As the words fell, Fred suddenly let go. A fluttering sound was heard and Three's forehead suffered a hit from the backlash, but he finally got his baseball bat back.

"You f*cking..."

His rage was so strong that Three got up and started to curse.

However, before the words left his mouth, he felt as if his gaze was in a trance, seeing Fred's body flashing in front of him. The image of a palm appeared in front of his eyes and got bigger as it approached him.

Slap!

A slap was heard, crisp and loud.

Three's body was sent flying like a cannonball and fell headlong tens of meters away. He twitched twice and did not move after that.

"I was going to pull my punches...I haven't fought in five years, maybe my control has gotten rusty?"

Fred muttered to himself, without looking at Three—it was unknown if he was alive or dead. He then slowly raised his eyes and looked at the remaining people.

The others that were looking on were frightened.

A slap that sent a grown man flying tens of meters?

Was he still human?

Only superheroes on TV could do something like this!

Without another word, these people dropped their baseball bats and fled into the distance.

Alan's orders or whatnot, they did not care. They did not stop to think about Three, who they were not sure was even still alive.

Screech!

Right then, a black, luxurious but low-profile Maserati stopped ahead of Fred and its door was pulled open. Following that, a middle-aged man got down from the driver's seat and jogged until he was right in front of Fred.

"Were you the one who distracted Alan?" Fred spoke indifferently, not in a rush to leave

The middle-aged man was the same Mr. Walker who had been at the hotel. He immediately knelt respectfully and said, "Great One, your subordinate did not kill the younger Mr. Graham. I wanted him to have the most miserable end, but I didn't expect it would cause such an incident, please forgive me!"

"You had your own considerations, you are not in the wrong."

Fred waved his hand indifferently, indicating that Mr. Walker did not need to care, and then asked, "Which hospital did the Cadman family go to just now?"

"City North Center Hospital!" Mr. Walker immediately replied.

Fred nodded slightly and stepped into the car.

"Then let's go there!"

After the words fell, the vehicle started and slowly drove toward the north of the city...

...

Inside ward unit V9 on the fifth floor of City North Center Hospital

It should have been the moment for the Cadman family to surround Eric with worry.

At this moment, however, the Cadman family was like a crowd of fans wrapped around a young man, trying to please him with extreme flattery.

Valerie was gently snuggled in the man's arms at this moment, her attitude coquettish as she spoke words of thanks.

Because of the man's appearance, Valerie's father was immediately admitted to the V-alphabet VIP ward. A specialist from Center Hospital will come to diagnose his condition later as well.

More importantly, this man's identity was the youngest of the Hanks' family, Yousef. He was famous in Sea City, even to the extent of rivaling the Graham family!

"Mr. Hanks, you shouldn't have! Uncle Eric does not deserve such a luxurious ward!"

"Mr. Hanks has many thriving businesses, so this is nothing to him! I heard that Mr. Hanks has recently acquired a lot of properties for the Hanks family. I'm not wrong to assume that this hospital is owned by the Hanks family as well, right?"

"The youngest of the Hanks family is not only handsome, but also youthful and promising! If a lady could become Mr. Hanks' wife, she would definitely be blessed!"

The Cadman family's strong praise made Yousef's face incomparably smug. However, when he looked at Valerie beside him, he immediately laughed and said, "You must be joking, everyone! It's a pity that your Cadman family has already chosen a son-in-law for her, or else I would give up all my wealth just to win a smile from Valerie!"

A son-in-law?

Bullsh*t!

When they heard Mr. Hanks mention Fred, they all looked contemptuous.

Valerie's mother, Karen, said disdainfully, "Mr. Hanks, you must be joking. As they say, the shame of a family must not be disclosed.

"That's right! I don't know what kind of sins the Cadman family has committed in their past life to be dragged down by such a loser. It's really a disgrace to our family."

"If I may say so, isn't Valerie going to divorce that loser? They have been married for so many years, and Valerie has never let that good-for-nothing sleep with her even once. Mr. Hanks should take Valerie's hand in marriage."

The group of people listening to Karen's words immediately echoed the sentiment, actually trying to set up Valerie and Mr. Hanks.

For the Cadman family who had just offended the Graham family, Yousef's appearance was akin to a lifesaver.

Many people even felt that Eric's illness came at the best time. Otherwise, how could there be an opportunity for Yousef to encounter them?

As for Fred, Valerie's real husband, they chose to ignore his existence.

After all, he was a useless person who had offended the Graham family. How could he be compared to the famous young master of the Hanks family?

With these words from the Cadman family, the smile on Yousef's face grew even wider as he immediately looked at Valerie and asked, "Valerie, how about it? Are you willing to do it?"

"I..." Valerie's lips slightly opened as she was about to speak.

"I object!"

Bang!

The door of the room opened with a shout!
