Chapter Seventy-Nine – The Members

Pamela’s head snapped to his. “What?! Why?”

Lucas immediately interjected. “It’s not a mistake, Uncle Domi.” Did his uncle mean everything that happened was a mistake? The twins? Jake? “You liked Aunty Brielle.”

Dominic froze. Truly, he did but if he had left her alone, all the tragedies that happened to him wouldn’t have happened. He wouldn’t be full of trust issues now.

“Indeed, whether or not you married Brielle, things might still get to this.” Selene added. “At least, you’re a dad, and you had a chance to know Allen more.”

Pamela folded her arms. “It’s a good thing she divorced you or I’d have done it myself.”

Dominic chuckled nervously. He didn’t think his divorce was anything good but he didn’t refute. They left the lady with her son afterward.

Selene slapped her book closed. “She’s an emotional mess. I’d come back later by afternoon.”

“Where are you off to?” Dominic asked, since all the evidence she’d need were already in one
