ZILLIONAIRE’S COMEBACK.

CHAPTER SEVEN.

As Nick entered the house, April was typing away frantically on her laptop while Fedora was seated beside her and they both had serious looks on their faces.

“Nick, did you find anything?” Fedora asked when she saw him, even if she didn’t know the full story behind what was happening she knew her family was involved in what was happening.

“We have to get our hands on anything that Gregory have taken from the orphanage, it should be important” April chipped in, her eyes not leaving the screen of her laptop.

Just turn, Ashley rushed into the room and whispered something into Nicks ears and he rushed out with the same speed.

“The police will be able to decode the CCTV footage by tonight” he said to April who finally looked up from her laptop.

“Then we have to watch it before they do, the moment Gregory gets a wave of it we won’t be able to get it”

“Father already has people working for him at the station,” Fedora announced.

“Then we have only one choice left”Nick said looking at the two of them intently.

“We steal it,” April added as she smirked. She loved the life of adventure.

“That is very dangerous brother, what if you are caught?” Fedora asked, her voice was laced with fear.

“In this game Fedora” April began slowly as she turned to where fedora was seated, “ it is the survival of the fittest and it is even in the Bible that the violent taketh it by force”

“Don’t worry fedora, just stay home and don’t be stressed okay?”

“I want to help brother” she said after a while glancing at two of them simultaneously.

“Yes, you should help” April Chided but Nick nodded his head in the negative.

“I don’t want to put you in the middle of this battle fedora, just don’t worry and I take care of you like I promised”

“Nick” she called slowly, “I know exactly the kind of way I can help, let me help you please. You have my back right?no one can touch me”

April finally stood up from where she was sitting and walked towards Nick who had a disapproving look on his face,

“She can actually help Nick if you let her and you know what I mean”

“This is dangerous and I don’t want you getting involved Fedora”

“I got a bit strong after five years brother, just do what you want and I will help in the little way I can” she said with an air of finality before leaving the two of them to themselves.

“Just let her do what she want Nick, the Furgessons won’t hurt their own I can assure you”Nick finally sighed as he loosened his tie,

“Can you break into a place?” He asked after a while and she smirked.

“Let’s get that footage then” April added, the smile on her face was growing bigger by the minute.

The time was past eight in the evening when Nick strode into the station in all his majesty, his black suit made him more dignified and responsible.

“Good evening sir” the cop on duty greeted immediately he saw Nick, the aura emanating from him could not be ignored.

“ I am here to see the police commissioner, is he in?”

“Do you have an appointment sir?” The officer asked again.

“I am here in respect to the case of first degree arson, I am related to that orphanage”

“He is In his office now, but it is already late and I believe he will be planning to leave soon”

“Just let him know Nick Furgesson is here”

“Okay”

After dialing in the number, the person from the other end answered after two rings.

“Sir, Nick Furgesson is here to see you in regards to the case of arson”

“Let him in, he is the last person I will be attending to today”

“Okay sir” he replied and replaced the receiver, “you can go in sir”

Nick glanced at the entrance for a few seconds before he made his way to the commissioners office.

After a few minutes, a young lady entered the room. She was dressed in a pair of black suits and she had her fringe covering part of face.

“How may I help you?”

“My boss just entered inside and now his phone is ringing, I am not supposed to be disturbing him when he is in a meeting but the call is very important” her voice was meek and respectful.

“He is in the commissioner's office, take a left turn” he replied and focused on his work while she gave a smirk and looked around, he was the only person she was who was active, the rest were sitting and chitchatting. No one took notice of her at all, smirking as she walked off.

After walking for a few seconds, April stumbled upon the room she was looking for and it was boldly written evidence room.

As she made a move on the door, she heard some footsteps a few feet away and she quickly hid herself in a corner as two policemen came to pass without noticing her.

Looking left and right like a thief, she removed a hair pin from her hair and in a matter of a few seconds, the door was thrown open and she ventured inside.

The room was filled with a lot of evidence and all of them were labeled which made her work a little bit easier. After searching for some minutes, she finally got to what she was looking for.

“Decoded CCTV Footage, arson case” was boldly written on it.

“Bingo” she muttered to herself and quickly grabbed the piece and shoved it inside the suitcase she was holding, “all clear” she muttered into her earpiece and the person at the other end gave a silent “hmm”

Making sure no one was around, she ventured out of the room silently as she came in and finally walked towards the commissioner’s office like nothing happened.

The soft rap on the door made the man look away from Nick as he fixed his eyes on the door,

“Come in” came his deep husky voice, the commissioner was a man in his late fifties but he looked fit for the job, “how may I help you?” He asked immediately April’s disguised face came into view”

“She is my assistant” Nick replied professionally before turning to her.

“Sorry to bother you sir, Mr Khan has been calling you and he says it was urgent. I can’t keep him on hold any longer” came April’s meek voice again as she adjusted the goggles on her face.

“Give me a minute” Nick answered and turned back to the commissioner, “ I am afraid I have to leave now sir, an urgent work has come up. Like we have discussed, I want to know everything about this case and the criminals must be brought to justice. I grew up in that orphanage so it is just like my home, I will assist you in any way I can” he added before standing up.

“Rest assured Mr Furgesson, I will not let the perpetrators go unpunished”

“Thank you “

They shook hands and finally Nick and April found themselves going out of the station with the evidence neatly tucked away in the briefcase she was holding.

Immediately they got to the car, she hastily removed the wig she was wearing and heaved a sigh of relief. She was a world known hacker but this was actually the first time she was breaking into a place, especially the police station and it was adventurous.

“Are you okay?” Nick asked immediately as he boarded the car, “did anyone suspect something?”

“All clear Nick, we should get going before they suspect anything”

He nodded and the car zoomed out of the parking space.

Back in the office, immediately the commissioner saw that his car was no longer in the premises, he picked up his phone and dialed a number which was answered after three rings.

“Hello, Mr Furgesson” he greeted respectfully.

“Tell me” came from the man’s voice from the other end.

“Your son just left the station and he seems very interested in this case, he asked me not to show anyone the footage until he has watched it”

“Did you give him the footage?” The voice asked again, this time he sounded angry.

“I will have it delivered to your house tomorrow morning sir, I am strictly following your orders” he replied as a sly smile formed on his face.

“Good Gerald, very good. I will have the money deposited in your account now, you should buy yourself a new car”

“Thank you sir” the commissioner replied and ended the call before picking up his landline.

“Sir” came from an officer's voice.

“I want you to bring the CCTV footage of the arson case to me mow, I have to check it out”

“But sir, the team handling the case have not yet watched it, should I still go ahead?” The person asked again and Gerald flared up.

“Will you question me now?” He blurted.

“I am sorry sir, I will bring it now” he quickly replied and Gerald hissed before replacing the phone but after a few minutes, his office door flung open and the officer entered.

“Where is the footage?”

“I can’t find it in the evidence room sir” came his scared reply and the commissioner immediately flew up from the chair he was sitting on.

“What do you mean you can’t find it? I personally supervised the technical team and It was kept there in my presence”

“It seems it was taken sir”

Gerald flared again, how could someone enter the building and steal evidence without any one’s knowledge?That was warrantless nonsense.

“That is rubbish” he fumed as he stormed out of the office and the officer followed suit.
