Chapter 4

"Zachary, how is this? I know it's too hard." Naura looked at Zachary as he left the Harvey family home. Her eyes were glazed with helplessness.

After her return, she had hoped that she would get married to Zachary tomorrow, but her family had played a trick on Naura.

"Calm down, Naura. Your grandfather said we will get married." Zachary spoke calmly. He touched Naura's hand.

Naura's face looked glum. "We will fail because I know very well that my family's decision is not easy to be about. Especially when they impose such heavy requirements." She sounded desperate. "That sounds impossible for us, Zake."

Getting a partnership by signing a thirty million-dollar contract was a lot of work. She remembered her father's struggles, who went to great lengths to get a ten-million-dollar deal. Indeed, thirty million dollars would be much more difficult.

"We can try. We'll make it," Zachary replied, not changing his attitude.

Naura squeezed her hand, only she seemed to understand. "They're an international group of companies."

Amid her despair, Naura remembered something. She looked back at Zachary. "I remembered something. I have a friend in the international group. I'll contact him later." Naura looked excited.

"Okay, you can contact him." He noticed Naura, who looked more alive.

Then, they immediately left Harvey's family home to Naura's house, which was still in the same complex. The buildings here looked luxurious, although not as luxurious as in the central area.

When the two arrived at Naura's house, it was Naura's mother, Melani, who opened the door. "You can't come in."

"Mom, he is my future husband." Naura voiced that she wanted Zachary to be with her.

Melani looked at Naura angrily. "You ignorant child, you don't know anything. Come in." She pulled Naura in and then closed the door violently. Therefore, Zachary immediately left there.

"I'll come back and settle this," Zachary spoke in a low voice and left immediately.

After Naura entered, she got a scolding from her mother. Naura chose to immediately enter her room and lock herself in. All this time, her mother didn't care about her. Since she turned beautiful, her mother behaved differently.

"Calm down, Naura." Naura took a breath and then took her cell phone to immediately contact her friend.

Meanwhile, Zachary immediately went into his car. His expression looked calm, but his eyes flashed. He picked up his cell phone.

With quick finger movements, Zachary punched several numbers on his phone screen until the call was connected. "Hermes, I heard an international group is coming here and told the leader to contact me," Zachary spoke with a firm intonation.

The man who had just picked up the phone responded calmly. "Zeus, what is it?" Hermes ventured to ask his master.

The expression on Zachary's face was still stern. "I want to exercise the privilege of being a marshal." After saying that, Zachary turned off his cell phone. The call was enough to get Hermes moving. He drove his vehicle back to the manor.

A few tens of minutes later, at the manor in the Palace residence area where Zachary lived. The man named Jeremy hurriedly entered and met the man.

He was very nervous and faced Zeus, who had strong pressure. For him, it was a great honor to be invited by a marshal. Zeus's name in the military had been heard in some high circles, so he was happy to be able to meet Zeus.

He knew that Zeus was much younger than him, but that didn't make him refuse to respect Zeus.

Not long after, he arrived before Zachary, who was sitting. Jeremy immediately bowed his body to pay his respects. He even lowered his face when he met Zachary's gaze. "Mr. Marshal, I am Jeremy, the international leader. I am very pleased to meet you." Jeremy showed his admiration. Then he straightened up and spoke, "Sir, I have heard that you would like to meet me."

"I have been waiting for your arrival. Sit down." Zachary moved his hand, and the man gingerly sat on the sofa facing him.

Jeremy saw that Zachary looked charismatic. A second later, when he realized that he had acted boldly, Jeremy immediately averted his eyes.

"Mr. Jeremy, I invited you over because I want to sign a partnership with the company you lead," Zachary said clearly.

Jeremy flashed a smile. "Sir, is it serious? I'm thrilled if you want to cooperate with the company I lead. " Jeremy showed his excitement. And looked enthusiastic. "Sir, of course, I will give you that cooperation. And, of course, it's an honor for me to work with a great man like you, sir Marshal."

"Sir, even if you want it, I can do it now." Jeremy made a suggestion, and Zachary agreed.

"Fine, it's better to do it now," Zachary replied.

After half an hour of waiting, the documents they were waiting for were finally in Jeremy's hands.

After Jeremy examined the document, he immediately handed Zachary a cooperation agreement. "Sir, you can sign it now, right here." Jeremy pointed to several parts that needed to be signed until, finally, the cooperation contract had taken place.

"It's a pleasure working with you, Mr. Jeremy." Zachary extended his hand until they shook hands.

"I should have said that, Mr. Marshal. It's something I never even expected to work with a great man like you. Suppose you'll excuse me then. There are some important things I need to finalize for this contract." Jeremy stood up immediately. He gave a respectful salute before he finally left the manor.

After Jeremy's departure, Zachary also got up. He left his house and headed to another manor. Moments later, he arrived at the dilapidated, overgrown building where his family once lived. Ten years ago, all the family members except him had died in a massacre. And everything was destroyed by the great fire.

Zachary walked to the side yard and saw a grave. Immediately kneeling at the grave, Zachary rubbed the headstone and spoke, "Father, I have returned."

Zachary sighed. He thought about the past. It was many years ago, when his father was only sixteen years old that he married the daughter of an old man who would soon be celebrating a seventieth birthday party. And this was the beginning of destroying his family. And, of course, those memories and stories were still vivid in Zachary's mind.

The woman - Nora Pierson, deceived her father by taking the family's assets and saying that they belonged to the Pierson family from the beginning, so it was only natural that they were in Peter's hands. Zachary's father did not accept this because it was a family inheritance until Zachary's father wanted to take back the assets that Pierson had held. After all, the assets they carried were related to other assets. Knowing that Peter didn't like it because it could make the Pierson family weak. And that was the reason they destroyed Zachary's family.

Raindrops fell on the earth, but Zachary ignored them. He who remembered his past made tears fall down his cheeks. Zachary immediately wiped them away.

Zachary's gaze became sharp when he remembered about his stepmother. He knew that the death and destruction of his family was undoubtedly because of his stepmother. "I will take revenge." Zachary's hands clenched into fists. "And I swear it, in the name of our family, Father," Zachary said with a firm voice and gaze.

Another day passed, and it was the day Peter would have his seventieth birthday party. Meanwhile, Zachary prepared to surprise him at his birthday party. He had also prepared a bell for a birthday present. For whom the bell tolls, he will give a surprise that will make it hard to breathe.
