The Test
Both of us were filled with fear of being caught. We stood there, trying to control our breaths, our fingers intertwined.

I gazed up at his face, his contours illuminated by the faint light making its way through the restroom. With my eyes fixed at his face, I held onto his hands tightly.

For some reason, his presence brought me an overwhelming sense of relief that I hadn't experienced in a while.

Seeing him after such a long time made me genuinely happy.

After a few moments of complete silence, the sound of the flush broke our eye contact. I glanced down and smiled.

Once the restroom was empty again, we cautiously stepped out.

I was about to leave when his voice fell on my ears "I'm glad to see you, but I wish it was under different circumstances," he confessed.

I moved closer to him once more, locking my gaze with his. "What? Under what circumstances?" I asked, lost in his eyes.

He continued to gaze into my eyes, his eyes conveying emotions that words could not express. There
