7 – The Manipulator

Cody’s zombie fell, but Brigg didn’t continue his attack right away.

“Come on!” He shouted. “I want to have fun! Don’t fall so easily!”

Cody controlled his zombie to tackle that man, but Brigg could hold it and lifted that being and slammed it so hard on the ground.

Next, Brigg looks like he’s playing around. He laughed while giving punches and kicks to Cody’s zombie.

Cody didn’t even expect himself to win this fight. His zombie cannot defeat Brigg. He was still thinking of other ways to finish that man.

“You look for your sister, Gwen.” Cody hissed. “Let me distract Brigg.”

“After that, we will run away?” The blonde-haired woman replied.

Cody looked at that girl, silent for a moment. “No, you run away with your sister. I will try to kill him.”

Yes, Cody couldn’t just let a dangerous person like Brigg wander around.

“But…” Gwen looked hesitant.

“Go!” Cody made a firmer voice. He handed the rifle to her. “Look for another door to the house! Don’t go through the front door!”

Gwen held the rifle, looking like she was about to cry, but still followed Cody’s order. She ran to the other side of the house.

Cody turned his attention back to the fight. His zombies are getting overwhelmed, and Brigg is still playing around with it.

The young man’s brain tried to think about everything, like remembering the words of Brigg’s men at the luxury car warehouse. Maybe he could get some clues from them.

A few seconds later, a small smirk appeared on his face. There is one thing that might turn this situation around.

One of Brigg’s men mentioned their boss didn’t like living near large amounts of gasoline.

Perhaps Brigg wasn’t afraid of petrol, but of the fire it produced. That man’s weakness was fire.

Cody hurried to his car, opening the back door to retrieve the gasoline can he brought from the warehouse.

But he couldn’t use it without a proper strategy. To easily douse Brigg with fuel, he must restrain that man first.

Cody considered getting the zombies to hold Brigg’s body. However, he could only control two. He doubted he could restrain Brigg with just that number.

Then another idea popped into Cody’s head. He opened the system menu to check his leveling progress. His experience bar was almost full. Soon, he will advance to level 4.

He can add a new skill after that.

“Hey, give me more of a challenge!” Brigg yawned and kicked Cody’s zombie, that was running towards him. “He keeps doing this like a fool!”

“I will increase the number of zombies I control!” Cody started looking through the grass. “Hang in there, don’t kill my zombie yet! You still want to have fun, right!?”

“I take your word for it.” Brigg avoided his opponent with a face devoid of enthusiasm. “But hurry, or I’ll finish you.”

Cody picked up a handgun from the ground and checked it. Three bullets remained. He hoped that was enough. No time to look for another firearm.

The young man revives a corpse of one of Brigg’s men and shoots it in the head.

“What are you doing, dumb*ss!?” Brigg protested.

“This is necessary!” Cody brings back another dead body just to shoot it in the head again.

[Level up]

Yes, Cody killed those zombies he had just controlled to increase his experience points.

Next, he chose a new skill.

[Multiple Control x2: You can control 4 zombies at once]

“Good! This is going to get even more interesting!” Brigg laughed as three more zombies from Cody ran towards him.

Meanwhile, the young man got ready. A petrol can was near him, but he hid it behind that vehicle.

Brigg must not know about that thing.

Instead of attacking, all of Cody’s zombies - including the big ones - hugged and held Brigg’s body.

“Why are they acting this way!?” Brigg tried to get free, but had a lot of trouble. “Let me fight them! I….”

His jaw dropped as he watched Cody sprint towards him, clutching a massive can of gasoline.
