Those who have humiliated him would have to watch their backs because it was payback time.

What is the role of those third-rate villains in games or novels? I asked this question to myself quite a number of times. They don't have major screen time, but some of them have a huge effect on the storyline. And, if one of them hadn't played their role correctly, what would happen to the storyline?
