THE ANNIHILATION OF SERPENTS
After burying Zanzo deep inside the Bauthinian forests Klara and co went over to his house and ransacked it however their efforts proved to be fruitful because Klara was able to retrieve some coin although the money she found was not up to the amount he owed her. Luckily for her she was able to find some golden jewelry. She believed she could make enough coin from selling it moreover she planned to sell it here in Payan as taking it over to Pinkiland would be a waste because material things no longer had value there due to the fact that the plague had caused every inhabitant in Pinkiland to desire food and some subsidiary medicine that was meant to reduce the pain of the Skaezer.Lord Mordian and Romeo picked up some clothes, grain, honey, flour and some weapons too. Even though Lord Mordian was of Noble birth with royal blood running through his veins his service to the Elerian crown as a mercenary had already done the damage on him and the successful battles and raids he was part o

THE HEROES OF PAYAN
Tir Umihi and some of the Loa Mahte that survived the attack of the Payani warriors underwent trial at the Payani court in the presence of the Payani elders, some wealthy merchants of Payani origin, his father the chief and the governor of Nerdia which was one of Husavian states that the Payan village was part of. Romeo, Klara and Lord Mordian were also present at the court however Lord Mordian sat among the Payani elders putting on a fake beard and a long brown wig because he did not want to drag too much attention to himself because during the time when they were to plan for the attack on the Loa Mahte, he was surprised that he was known amongst some of the elders and some veteran fighters of the Payani. Now If he was famous among a few veteran fighters and elders, he believed that there was no way he would not be recognized by some of the wealthy merchants that were present at the court and no doubt they would want to get acquainted with him with the intention of boosting their tra

IMPOVERISHED BANDITS
"Why are you so eager to get to Merveilland Lord Mordian?" Klara asked looking curious as she rode Romeo's horse. She had swapped the wagon she was driving for Romeo's horse because she found it an uneasy task to bring two horses under control and the rough road they were travelling through caused her much discomfort when she was on the four wheeled vehicle."And when does the matters of men concern an elf." He answered coldly in defiance.Klara was surprised at his attitude and creased her eyebrows. "I do not know where this new attitude of yours is coming from but you need to smile a bit because you look ugly." She said.Lord Mordian frowned and turned away from her."Anyway firstly I am concerned because you saved me from being raped to death, second is because you helped me destroy the Loa Mahte and thirdly because I am the one that is leading you to Merveilland - so why Merveilland?"Lord Mordian remained silent."If you wish to journey to Merveilland for tourism I am afraid you

BLOODY HOMECOMING
The elves readied their weapons looking confidently at Lord Mordian and Romeo as if they were about to wipe them out from the realm of the living. "Romeo are you ready for this?" Lord Mordian asked.Romeo nodded at him."Another thing to note about veteran cohorts - is that they do not give in or surrender to thieves, bandits or saboteurs, death is a preferable option." Romeo creased his eyebrows. "Are we going to die Lord Mordian?"Lord Mordian grinned. "That I do not know. I pray that the gods have not designed today to be the day of our journey to the realm of the divine.""Let us kill them." The skinny elf hissed and after two heartbeats the three elves dashed towards Lord Mordian and young Romeo.Lord Mordian tightened his grip on his long silver hilted xiphos. "Oh great Oridon help us to be quick with these three before the others will be tempted to be part of the skirmish and we will be heavily outnumbered." He whispered to himself in prayer. The skinny elf was the first to l

WORRIES
Darkness was upon them and an inn was nowhere to be found anywhere around the places they had passed so they resorted to a grass land with some few trees which stood there.Lord Mordian and Klara put their luggages down reliving their horses of the load and Romeo unfastened the harness that connected the wagon from the two horses that pulled it. With the moonlight making things a bit visible Romeo took it upon himself to feed the horses with some hay so they could be strong and fit for the remaining journey that lay ahead. Klara began to cook some beef soup so they could combine it with some of the barley bread they had brought with them and pass the night.Lord Mordian took out some heavy cloth from his sack bag and spread it so he could have a comfortable place to lay until the beef soup was ready."Um Romeo fetch me some of dry wood inside the wagon." Klara pointed at the wagon as she requested of Romeo speaking with a bit of urgency."Okay." He hurried towards the wagon did as he

BEEF SOUP
In no time Klara was done dishing out the contents of the pot and food was ready to be served. The image of his bed ridden nephew filled his minds eye and at once his spirit plunged. "Do not give up Lauihnio - my boy, my soldier, uncle is coming back and he is going to fix the mess he brought on Bauthinia." Lord Mordian whispered strongly to himself while he stared at the pitch black sky. "I swear by Oridon's mace I will not rest until I bring the Badorna lotus to Bauthinia to the arch cytix priest so they will purge you of -""Lord Mordian, it is time to eat." Romeo bent down close to his side.Lord Mordian gasped in surprise instantly and seeing it was Romeo he heaved a sigh of relief. "Oh Romeo what again." He scowled at him."The food is ready - Klara says you should come over and have a bite. It is beef soup and some barley bread, I have tasted it, it is so delicious." He said satisfactorily, licking his fingers."I am not hungry, Thank you." He said dismissively rolling over to

HALF TRUTH
"No - far from that." He snorted then paused for a while. "Originally that was not my intention for my journey to Merveilland, it am no longer in search of power, fame and influence anymore, I had all of that when I was a mercenary during my service to the Elerian crown." "But I thought you are Bauthinian?""I am not just any other average Bauthinian, I am a Bauthinian prince, I am the second son of King Pannio Cascio Taz Lunserk." "Wow that is interesting - so where is your entourage?" Klara said jokingly."That is a long story however I am on a secret quest, a quest that no high born or low born citizen in Bauthinia is expected to have any idea about.""Okay what about this long story of yours, I will like to hear it, I will like to know why the second son of a king which I believe must be a very powerful king does not move with a entourage - no offense young Romeo here is too young to do some gruesome fighting when your life is at risk."Romeo's face did not show any signs that h

TRUST ISSUES
"Are you serious, that is good news, Romeo do you hear that?" He gave him a pat on his shoulder. "Here in Merveilland it is so easy to get the red feverfew plant - that means we will retrieve it without any fuss and with everything in place we will be back home in no time." Lord Mordian smiled feigning happiness.Romeo was not excited because he was aware that Lord Mordian was lying but he had to play along with his master, he put up a fake smile to cover up his disappointment towards Lord Mordian."I think you would have been less worried if you had talked to me about your need for the red feverfew plant." Said Klara."I am sorry Klara, the thing is that I have a problem with trusting people - I am sorry.""Apologies accepted Lord Mordian." She nodded gently. "Now let me leave you to your food, I am feeling sleepy, good night boys." Klara stood up from where she was sitting and moved to sleep behind the wagon which was distant from them.Lord Mordian was done with his beef soup but h

RISKY LIVING
It was dawn and all three of them were set for the journey having arranged their belongings properly on the horses and also inside the wagon however they did not take a bath due to the absence of a water body nearby but instead they put on new clothes. Their journey was smooth without the troubles of any brigands, they rode on the beasts and after about an hour the big tall gate to Pinkiland was now visible from afar. Apart from sighting the gate which was open The three travellers could see some elves walking in and out of the gate. At the sight of her fellow elves moving in and out of the gates she was filled with joy, she believed that with the gate open and her fellow elves moving in and out of the city things were not as bad as she thought because before she had travelled to Payan there was a lockdown in Pinkiland, it was a move to reduce the spread of the Skin rotter and that effort by the Pinkiland authorities were followed up strictly. "Look." She pointed towards the distant

FAMILY
Klara looked worried. "Why does the government allow these creatures from outside to come into our city when they are fully aware of what the Skaezer has done to their own cities." She snapped."Hey keep your voice low, you do not need to sound like a segregate here in the open, It is bad." Dejar motioned for Klara to calm down. "No one knows why the government allowed them to come into our city however by the order of prince Elrond the soldiers at the gate make sure that no one with the Skaezer uses the gate either coming in or going out.""You also make sure you cover your nose and mouth cause they say the disease is air borne." The third elf said with his crackling voice."Yes that is true."Klara shook her head in dismay. "This is so sad hear." She said. "How many elves have died due to Skaezer?"Dejar held his chin. "According to the government about a thousand six hundred." He replied.Klara's eyes were wide open. "A thousand six hundred." "Yes that is how bad it is.""Great Or
