Chapter 22 Marco spent some time getting to know his grandfather before he took him further into the house, at the living room was the whole family waiting for his arrival and introduction. “Your father was my only son, but I also adopted a few,” he spoke out in a warm voice, “Here is my first ever adopted daughter, and beside her is her husband. They’re finally expecting their first child, she’s four months pregnant.” Marco halted in front of the woman. His placid gaze colliding with her shady one, she curved a little smirk. “Welcome to the family, Marco.” She mouthed audibly, lowering her gaze as a different aura settled around her. Marco smiled at her, ignoring her greeting and shifting right to those standing next to her. It was a girl, around his age or a little older. “I’m Marie, who I am is complicated. But welcome, I’m glad you’re back and alive.” She also smiled, and through her voice, Marco deduced she wasn’t being fake and was actually sincere with her welcome. “Nice t

Chapter 23Marco was left to his thinking. Cassius allowed the pending silence dominated their conversation, leaving his grandson to flat out his thoughts. A minute ticked by, and a deep sigh emanated from Marco’s throat. He cleared his throat. “I have something very important to discuss with you about today,” Marco started, although conflicted on how he’d table the discussion. He commended his bravery for standing up against the hatred leveled against him down when he was introduced to the family, and how his idea of countering the enemies coming for him was to hide away and let someone else do the job. Doesn’t look very notable, but he was still going to say it. “So……..” Marco went on narrating to Cassius how it began, from himself visiting his new home and his encounter with the hired assassin. No detail was singled out, how he escaped the assassin and developed the idea of pursuing his lie to the assassin and drawing out his enemies. “Wow!” Cassius gasped, evident in his fe

Chapter 25 He might be a different man, but he wasn’t lying. He truly almost died for her, and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for her back when they were together. If she had request him to murder the president, he would do so in a heartbeat so long as it pleases her. “Fine. You want to make a murderer to prove my love for you, cool. I will do it, give me the knife?” She stretched out her palm, questing for the weapon. Marco grinned, tickled by the response. It’s nice to see that he wasn’t doting on a soul sucker like he thought he’d been all this while. Perhaps the romance was mutual. He handed her the knife, crossing his arms over his chest with his gaze gesturing for Gina to go do the deed. Gina stared at the knife, heaving a deep sigh before stalking away from Marco in cautious steady steps. She approached Dren on the floor, pure fear marred on his face. Chapter 27Theo’s point of view The door to my room opened, and the feminine figure sashayed into the room, a competent smile carved about her lips. I whistled at her aura, a bit curious on what calls the mood. If I had to guess, I’d say it’s the fulfillment of our plan bypassing the surfacing hindrance. The sudden presence of her mate, her coming to knowledge about my secret relationship. The plan was too manipulate Lynnette against her acclaimed mate, to get her back on my side since she caught my affair with her sister. But she proved that to be impossible, and so I had to stamp out the plan B. She came to where I was, leaned over the edge of a desk. I was going through some useless files before her scent reeled through my smelling organ. Chapter 28Lynnette’s point of view My system numbed to the pain, tears muddled above my cheeks. Lyra had claim she felt someone reaching out to us awhile ago but that could be her delusion. We’re damned, there’s no one coming to help us. The said presence she felt gave her the needed energy to clot the blood draining from the invented wound. Albeit the wolfsbane was out of our system, Lyra still complained about the effects still bothering her. She couldn’t heal me when she tried doing it. If it wasn’t for the imaginative presence she felt, she wouldn’t have acquired the energy to stop me from bleeding to death. Once the bleeding stopped, the torture lessened along. I struggled with the shackles straightening the injured leg. A sigh escaped my lips recalling to what obtained the physical pain. I stayed laid on the floor, pain searing from both the dislocated arm and a punched shoulder. Just a little more rest and Lyra would be in shape to heal. I glanced to my side, observing

Now I witness myself standing in darkness, a lifeless void filled with darkness. My visions navigated the darkness, able to sight my surroundings. I drifted further into the lifeless space, the sound of my feet tapping against the watery air beneath the floor. Each step I took suck me deep into the void, as if I was getting detached from my body. The darkness grew deeper, suffocating me more than anything, my feet drowned getting pulled by the water bodies beneath my feet. I struggled, unable to scream out for help. My entire body sucked into the water and I fell from a closed sky landing on a different surface, still pitch black but the water was gone. I got up on my feet, looking around where I was to see a figure many feet away from me. It was feminine figure that looks so much like mine, her head was down
