Julian had just left the window for the third time within ten minutes. It was past the time Raymond always returned, but he was yet to walk in through the door like he always did. She had called him several times, but he wasn't picking up her calls, so she thought he was choked up with work. Deep down, she was regretting why she went to meet her family for help. Instead of helping, they were punished. Angry, she kicked the couch so hard that her foot began to ache. “Ugh” she groaned as she lowered herself onto the same couch she had used to inflict pain on herself.
