Chapter 11. Shadow In The Stormy Night
Thunder rumbling, lightning was stripping across the gloomy and cloudy sky in a zig-zag form as it began to shower. Leaves were rustling as the whistling wind was blasting. Another boom of thunderbolt shook Lunasha's room such that her eyes shot open, beholding the terror of the dark. Although Lunasha was curled up in the strange lady's warm arms…if she wasn't mistaken, she couldn't help her uncertainty. She was still hurt. The girls trembled, gasped, and screamed in terror, astonished by what they saw. Simone was lying lifeless on the toilet floor with blood streaming out of her nostrils and mouth. Her eyes were gone and her left cheek was deeply injured and bleeding profusely. Sobbing, the girls covered their lips with their palms, feeling dumbfounded. In a couple of days, Lexie was apprehended the night she bumped into a sergeant in a supermarket. After the sergeants had asked her a few questions, she was led to an isolated detaining room so that they would carry out an intense interview the following day and deliberate on their judgment. They would also take her to the hospital where Leanna was admitted so that both girls would be properly interviewed. From the time Lexie bumped into that sergeant till now, she seemed to have been counting the number of beats her heart had skipped. Things were just at a fast pace and she felt like she was dreaming because she didn't expect to be arrested so soon and suddenly.
