Chapter 10: Rumors Aside
"Hen-Hen?" Heath arched a brow when he saw his cousin waiting for him as he reached the main road. "Yo!" the blond greeted before they both walked back to Henko's apartment. Their way home was rather uneventful, marked only by light chattering. This was how Henko perceived their trip. Meanwhile, Heath took advantage of the situation, attempting to glean more information about his parallel self's old daily life from his talkative cousin. Through his efforts, he did manage to gather some basic information and cross-referenced it with what he knew from his previous life. One noteworthy match was the names of his parents and a few others from his family tree. Despite differences in surname and social status, the core element aligned. This made him wonder if there were other similar facts that could be uncovered if he persisted in his inquiries. Before he knew it, they were back at the comfort of their humble abode, preparing a meal for their dinner. "So, do you feel at home in your ne

Chapter 11: Fixed Appearance
"Oi, Heath?" "Yes, Hen-Hen?" The brunet smiled innocently as the blond, annoyed with his companion, stared at him. "Where did you get that fedora?" "Oh, this?" Heath tipped the said item down, "I made it. Neat, isn't it~?" He grinned. Just like the birthday gift he made for his father figure, he recreated an exact copy to honor his mentor. "—NeAt iSn'T iT?" Henko mocked before sighing, "And just with what money did you use to buy the materials?" He won't even bother asking how this clumsy Kirby was even able to make something so high class without injuring himself. "Oh, I didn't need to buy anything. You already had an old, unused fedora in your drawer, gathering dust all alone in the sad corner. So I took it, used that as the base, and added some things here and there. Now, voila~!" "Voila, my ass! How the fuck did you make such a fancy hat so neatly?" Heath chuckled over his cousin’s freak outs, “Technically I didn’t make it, just reused it, but meh, Potato - Tomato, right?”

Chapter 12: Initial Notes
Heath hummed to himself as he flipped through more pages of the files in his current possession. In the name of collecting data about his new environment, Heath had observed their target the entire day before proceeding to ask both Perry and Lillian if they had any additional information on each and every student of I-9. After all, above all else, he was now a teacher. So, rather than focusing on his mutant co-worker, his primary attention should be on the students’ development. With that in mind, Heath carefully examined each file, paying close attention to every student's record. He reviewed their accomplishments, acknowledged their difficulties, and tried to understand what made each of them special. In his new role, Heath wasn't just keeping track of facts; he was also making initial notes on how to assist these young students in growing and succeeding in their futures. Regarding that, quite surprisingly, through the short observation, Heath discovered that the mutant had a few

Chapter 13: Class Time!
"Pfft— BAHAHAHAHA what's with that apron?" Kian laughed as he saw the brunet's newly added attire, which clashed with Heath's already-questionable choice of clothing. "Maa~ don't you think it's sort of cute, Kianichy? I made them myself~" Yet, instead of feeling offended, the former royalty just grinned, hand in hip after putting down the fourth tray on the table. The home economics teacher actually felt rather proud of this project he’s wearing. After all, the decoration on his apron, while it might look rather silly, was meaningful to him since he added it to honor his parents. His mother always loved to wear frilly dresses when she could, and an embroidery of a lion honored his father, who used to be called The Young Lion during his reign. He knew that it's not good to drown in sorrow. So at the very least, he wanted to keep the memories dear and wear things that would prevent him from ever forgetting his regret. “Now, now, before we can start the class, I made some treats for y

Chapter 14: Home Economics
Putting aside the initial shock caused by the uproar at the beginning of the class, everyone could now see how Heath was not only a prominent teacher but also an excellent cook.‘It’s quite amazing just how efficient Sensei is,’ Zane couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe. There wasn't a single wasted moment. Moreover, the brunet displayed the patience of a saint, as evidenced by his tolerance for Zara’s clumsiness, Lia’s never-ending questions, and even Perry’s constant disruptions. It was surprising how unflappable he remained.Actually, that last part left Zane slightly baffled. “I thought the class would end up in disaster…”“I know right? I’m just as surprised,” Jitsuo expressed his astonishment. After the previous incident, the brunet eventually approached the sulking homeroom teacher, presenting a fresh batch of cupcakes, ones that were still in the oven, as compensation for what had transpired. Perry dubbed this as the only correct way to apologize after such a tragic prank.

Chapter 15: Idle talk
"Enjoying yourself, Perry-sensei?" that brunet inquired as he walked towards the figure seated on the field, a gentle breeze brushed past them both. The said figure grinned in response, "Yep, as always~"With a stem of dandelion tucked behind his ear for some reason, Perry patted the ground next to him, inviting the home economic teacher to sit with him. The two were relaxing, and there was even this peaceful aura around the mutant."I was wondering why the kiddos were getting more energetic in the middle of their routine, well now I know why~" Heath chuckled as he glanced at the homeroom teacher while laying down a picnic carpet before lowering the basket he brought along."It's so hard to be such a motivational figure," Perry playfully complained.Heath shook his head, bemused, then took his seat. "I'm not even going to dispute that. The students adore you."To which, Perry replied with mirrored grace, "I can say the same with you, Heath-kun." That homeroom teacher was sincere howe

Chapter 16: sunshine
"Should we… be worried that those two are hitting it off this well?" Jitsuo sweatdropped. He was among the few students demoted to this class rank due to a drastic decline in his scores rather than bad behavior, just like some of his peers. By now, no one is even paying attention to the gym class or Lillian anymore, including Lia, who replied to their class rep with glee, "I don't know, man. But I'm preparing myself for something to happen." She was bemused by the sight of their Heath-sensei aggressively shoving the remaining contents of the food basket into their mutagenic Homeroom teacher's mouth. “Honestly, I’m not even sure what we’re witnessing right now, but shouldn't we interfere?” Zane sweatdropped at the rapid pace of their teachers’ bizarre and fast interactions. To him, observing these two felt like watching the personification of his last two brain cells at 2 am, counting down the hours to an exam. He found it both hilarious and concerning how, in one moment, the two a

Chapter 17: Creating The Lines
"Hey, you," calling out the dazed brunet, Henko waved his hand in front of Heath’s line of view to gain the younger’s attention since calling his name doesn’t seem to be so effective anymore, “you okay, dude?” “ah, yes? Sorry, you were saying?” Lips pursed into a line, Henko was clearly unimpressed with his masking, “Is there something the matter, Heath? You've been so distracted since dinner time.” And it’s morning now. A brand new day, yet his cousin looked like he hadn’t even had a wink of rest. Much to his dismay, his intuition was right. Ah, sorry, it’s nothing much. There’s just something on my mind.” Sheepishly scratching the back of his head, Heath offers another smile in hope it’ll make the other less worried. However, unfazed by any of that, Henko, who has seen the exhausted look that the other slips up a moment ago, poked him with another question, “Nothing serious, but consuming your waking hours?” He made a face at Heath, eyes staring straight at the pair of brown, sho

Chapter 18: The Prankster Hoyden
As soon as he reached the school ground, he noticed that only Perry was in the teacher room. The mutant was comically writing in his planner, like he usually does during his morning routine, when Heath greeted him before heading to class. A yawn escaped his lips as he made his way through the creaky hallway. "Damn, I'm tired," he thought. He knew that Henko had been pointing this out during breakfast, but by then, his mind was still running a mile away. Meanwhile, despite the buzzing alarm in his head, nothing seemed out of the ordinary right now. So, whatever his Enhanced Insight was trying to warn him about, it likely wouldn't happen yet. Probably somewhere around noon, or at the earliest, when his two other coworkers arrived at the school. According to Perry, they would arrive in three hours or so because they had a meeting with the chairman first. "Honestly, the fact that the chairman is agreeing to any of this is—" he paused, searching for the right word. "Sick? Icky?" Well, at

Chapter 19: Mr. Chameleon
"Sensei, are you okay?" A different voice chimed in, snapping him out of grief as he saw Lia and the two other students behind her, who earlier volunteered to help him clean up. "Hmm? Why yes, Lia-chan. A thought just crossed my mind, that's all," he smiled. "Really? You were so distracted, though," she dragged on, obviously curious but not wanting to make the other uncomfortable. "You can share with us so it wouldn't bother you too much, Heath-sensei," Zane added, looking just as concerned, in which the brunet smiled. 'They're such nice children indeed.' He can’t believe that there are adults with high power out there who dares to taint these children’s innocence just to keep their own hands clean. "Well, It might be a bit disturbing, but since you're asking so kindly~" Heath decided to humor them a bit. "What do you think of Perry-sensei as sushi?" The three students were dumbstruck while the redhead, who was standing behind all of them. "Probably doesn't taste as good as real
