Chapter 51
Karlow swung the broadsword like it was nothing. He jumped fast and high, leaving dust behind him, and in a flash, he slammed the huge sword into where Jake and Archris were. It created a huge and powerful impact and left a crater on the ground. Luckily, Jake and Archris were able to jump away from there in time, because if not, they must have already turned into hamburgers. The man with the lion tattoo, however, did not stop. He dashed over to Jake's location. He swung the sword again, but it was too fast, and Jake cast the mystic barrier a split second before the sword could strike him. “You’re too weak to be an archmagus maximus,” Karlow said while still pushing his sword to break the mystic barrier. “What the hell happened to you?” “Shut up! Just focus on me and die!” Jake screamed. Archris, on the other hand, sneaked behind Karlow and was about to stab the man with a magic rapier when Karlow spun together with his broadsword. That was to target his neck; fortunately, he wa

“Do you know each other?” Jake asked Lyca, then he looked at Karlow. Lyca moved forward in front of the knight and then glared at him. “Yes, he lived with my family on Mount Lenarc.” Jake suddenly teleported near Archris, and he healed him right away. “But nobody lives in that mountain range,” Jake replied while looking into Lyca’s eyes. He was trying to see if the woman was lying. “That was before our family was exiled from Eldramoria,” Lyca answered before glaring at Jake. Then he switched to Archris. “Archris, you may release this man now.” “No! Wait!” Jake disagreed. “He might attack us. Let him be like that.” “He won’t attack you anymore, right? Sir Karlow?” Lyca said, and then he looked at the knight. The man glared at Jake before nodding, and the swords in his hands disappeared. Archris then dispelled the magic, and Karlow was able to move again. “Lyca, how come you are here as well?” Karlow asked the lady. “This is not the right place for this, sir,” the woman replied,

That night. Jake, Karlow, Lyca, and Archris agreed that they would work together to stop and bring the Dragons down.Jake and Karlow decided to forget what happened in the past. However, Karlow said that he would not honor and consider Jake as the king of Eldramoria. And he insisted that he would just help because of Lyca and that he wanted to go back to Eldramoria so badly.Lyca declared that she would prepare her people for battle. Ten of them were from the Shafoor, the legendary and powerful shapeshifter clan from Eldramoria that Jake had only read about in books. She also stated that, if necessary, all of her six hundred companions would fight. The same goes with Archris and the Vipers. They pledged to fight alongside Jake no matter what.“We also want to live freely in this world,” Lyca said as she stood in front of Jake. “But we can’t kill just for us to be accepted. I hated Eldramoria for exiling my family and my clan. I wanted to destroy that world as well, but my hopes came b

News and documentaries about what happened in Jake's city and the magical wielders who did it flooded all social media platforms, as well as television and radio. It even spread to other countries, and the national government began to form a task force to combat these so-called terrorists. However, Jake told their city mayor that the military force was powerless to stop the Dragons, that they were not necessarily needed, and that they would just die in the fight if ever. He also asked the mayor to alert the national government to the fact that the Dragon had infiltrated and was now controlling some of their men and departments. Then he went to the mayor’s office and asked the mayor to evacuate the citizens of their city secretary and gradually, as the Dragons were about to attack in approximately seven days.“Are you serious? There are around four hundred thousand citizens living here. And the time frame you gave is too short,” Mayor Volt said with a frowning face.“If you don’t do th

Caroline was already in the living room, walking back and forth, when Jake arrived at the mansion. Sebastian, meanwhile, was just in the kitchen looking at the repairs made there. Mr. White welcomed Jake and asked if he liked anything, but Jake smiled and thanked the old butler for being thoughtful. Then he went directly to the living room, where he asked her sister to wait for him. “Big brother, finally, you’re here,” Caroline said before running and hugging him tight. “Is it true that you’ll send me abroad?”Jake sighed before nodding. Then he let his sister sit on the couch first. “The situation here is getting worse. And it could be dangerous as well,” Jake said. “I know you don’t want to leave, but I need to protect you.”“But how about you? Aren’t you going with me? You said it's dangerous here.”“Someone needs to be here to take care of our business,” he replied while smiling at Caroline. “I can’t leave.”Caroline’s lips pouted, and she glared at Jake. “Then I’ll just stay h

Jake took his sister to the border of the city, and again they said goodbye to each other. He sent Gary, the former bodyguard of their father, and four more men to protect his beloved sister. He made that as brief as possible. He didn’t want it to be emotional. After making sure that Caroline passed the border safely, Jake and Sebastian headed to their main office, where Archris was already waiting for them. He also told him about his encounter with Ms. Green.“Did you call the mayor to come tonight?” he asked Sebastian. The man nodded his head. “He said he’d come.”“Good.”Jake called Ms. Hanson and told her to prepare an announcement for the postponement of work for at least five days starting tomorrow. He also asked the secretary to include in the announcement that all of their employees must follow instructions from the city government. And he ordered her to send it through emails and text messages to all of their employees.“Are you sure about this? I mean, how can you just tru

Chapter 57
Karlow was sitting on top of a building with closed eyes and was breathing slowly when an evil presence suddenly made him squirm. It was so bad that he remembered Tharanos, the evil entity that ruled over Eldramoria. He opened his eyes and looked in the direction where he felt the presence. He followed it, which led him to the empty city park.He casually walked around, still looking for the source of the magic presence he could feel. But he didn’t find anything. However, when he stepped in there, he felt a lot of different faint magic energy, which made him shake his head. “Where are these magic energy presences coming from?” he asked himself while looking around. He was about to walk away when he felt a familiar magic energy. He could not pinpoint whose energy it was, but he was sure it was from a shapeshifter, and it was the next strong presence next to the evil one he felt first. And that the two magic energies are just in the same spot.“Lyca… Could it be hers?”He kept looking

Karlow stood up. His shoulders were shaking, and there was a scary grin on his face. He spread his arms, and the bastard swords in his hands turned into rapiers. He then cast a spell while locking his eyes on Dragon and his swords and arms were gradually surrounded by swirling flames. His eyes turned orange, and they gleamed like stars. And the lion tattoo on his back roared.“I won’t make this too long, Dragon,” he said while smirking. “I don’t like wasting any time.”“Be my guest,” Dragon replied with a smile.Karlow vanished, and he appeared on the right side of Dragon. Dragon put up a defensive stand, but Karlow vanished in front of him and attacked him from the left. He was able to raise his guard in time, but the burning rapier grazed his left cheek and ear, causing that side of his face to bleed.Dragon stepped back, but a smile could still be seen in his face. That made Karlow’s face darken, and he sent a barrage of attacks in front of Dragon using his two rapiers. Those attac

Two years ago in the heavily populated city of Mardaque. The sun was shining bright and its heat was radiating outwards into a bright day. People were under their umbrellas, and even a small movement could make anyone sweat. But despite the hot summer weather, people were still on the streets, doing their best to feed themselves and their families. And in a dark and secluded alley, a young man suddenly woke up. He squinted his eyes and grunted loudly as he pulled himself to sit up. He looked around and he grimaced when he noticed where he was, in a filthy place where garbage were thrown.“Where the hell am I?” he asked while looking around, his eyes were still squinting and all he could hear was people shouting and blaring horns of cars. “I was killed. Is this hell?”“I also wished I woke up there,” said the female voice. He jerked back and looked to his left side, where he heard the voice, and saw a young woman with tanned skin and long straight black hair eating a fried chicken le

“I really hate that form of yours, Lyca. It ruins your beautiful face,” Dragon said while slowly approaching his former friend. He had this evil grin on his face. “I hate it, because I suddenly remembered the time we first met two years ago.”Then he kicked Karlow, who was already not moving and was just breathing heavily, in the head, causing the man to collapse on the floor completely. “I could’ve ended this man's agony if you just didn’t butt in,” he said, then stepped on the knight’s head. “But now, I just changed my mind. I’ll watch him die, and I’ll enjoy it.”“Draco, please." Lyca slowly returned to being a normal woman. “Stop this madness already.”“It’s Dragon… not Draco!” the man shouted. “I told you already, the Draco you know has been dead for a long time! And you know what I hate more about you? Huh?”Lyca didn’t answer. She just looked at Dragon with watery eyes.“Answer me!” the man shouted while stomping harder on Karlow’s head. Karlow groaned in pain. He didn’t even
