CHAPTER EIGHTY-TWO
At Raine’s mansion, all of Adam’s family were gathered in the living room area of the house, and Adam couldn't help but be thankful, looking at each of them, only one person was missing in the mix and she would complete them soon. Over the last few months, his adopted family had grown close to his grandfather and Raul, and Adam was grateful to Marcus for embracing them and leaving his doors open to them. Hector, his father, was seated beside his grandfather deeply engrossed in a conversation, the glass of whiskey they held in their hands hadn't been downed for a while. He couldn't help the smile that escaped his lips as he watched Hector, he had sure come a long way from the badly beaten up and head-wrapped man he had come back home to meet. Seated in front of him was a robust man who was full of life, and now had a twinkle in his eyes, Hector’s worries had greatly reduced, the load off his shoulders, therefore he had begun to look way younger than his years. CHAPTER EIGHTY-THREE
With his phone on his lap, Adam used his free hand to continuously rub through his face and hair. Getting to his feet, he began pacing the ground, they were so close but he didn't want to mess this up, one wrong move and it could all blow up into flames, the thought alone had his heart racing, he couldn't afford any mistakes. “Adam? Are you there? I'll send you the address shortly, but I'm still hanging around the area. I gotta be careful here too, we are dealing with ruthless and terrible people. We can't afford to fail” Adam’s silence over the phone had Anderson a little worried, yet he kept up with the conversation. "I have an intel that says it best to do this soon. I think you should involve the force in this, and inform the police as well. Handling them alone isn't ideal" With his eyes closed, Adam pinched his nose bridge not saying anything, his head and mind racing with different thoughts. Even if he could single-handedly handle a whole army, he still needed to tread with

CHAPTER EIGHTY-FOUR
Over fifty men hovered around Adam, brandishing different weapons including guns such as rifles, shotguns and other weapons like clubs, machetes etc. Adrien, Miles and the other guys who had come with them were battling a separate set of armed men right outside. The overwhelming number of armed men they had met was quite alarming, it was as though they had been expecting them and had gotten reinforcement. One thing was for sure, Adam wasn't going to move an inch until he had recovered his child, “Just to let you all idiots know, I am not leaving here without my child. If you all have to die, then so be it” he declared loudly, with his legs spread apart and his hands folded behind him. The men stared at him in disbelief, before they all broke into laughter, guffawing and cackling loudly, “You are quite the joker, you and everybody else will leave here in a body bag, or better still we, maybe well make sure there's no trace left and burn your sorry bodies!” One of them who looked

But as the leader prepared to pull the trigger, Adam made his move. He lunged at the leader, knocking the gun out of his hands with a swift kick, and in a flash stumped on the gun with his other foot, attempting to render the weapon useless. The leader was aghast, this man was definitely something else, He started breaking out into cold sweat, but it was too early to do so, as Adam had just begun with him and his men, by the time he had dealt his lethal blows and punches to him and his men, he would break into what was worse off than sweat. Adam bent and retrieved the gun from underneath his foot. Picking it up, he aimed it at the man and clicked his tongue, “You were saying?” Without waiting for a reply, Adam grabbed the leader by his shoulder and used the gun butt to crack his shoulder blades, the breaking of bones noise ringing clear in the air, “Ahhhh” The man cried out in pain, with tears stinging his eyes, he sucked on his teeth to stop from crying out loud due to the pai

Eyes unblinking, Adam looked at the man with intense eyes, tilting his head to the corner he raised his eyebrows before finally opening his mouth to speak, “Are there any other men waiting to ambush me when I finally get there?” He asked as he grinned at the man, his eyes not leaving him, the man whose face was ashen, with blood still dripping from his face promptly shook his head, and with his lips and chin trembling as he replied, “No Master, there's no one there and I'm the only one with the code.” Adam nodded his head, raising his eyebrows once more, he questioned the man, “Any other thing I need to know before I proceed, say like a timed bomb or any trick” The leader firmly shook his head “None at all Master. We didn't think we would need such as we were sure you wouldn't be able to get there” once again Adam nodded his head and turned his gaze away from the still trembling leader and, turning to walk towards the exit, As though he forgot something, Adam turned back a

“Hey Adam, how's your daughter? Any difference now?” Over the phone, his friend and ally who had joined in the raid was asking Adam, sitting by the end of her bed with his hand on his face, Adam let out a deep breath before shaking his head slowly, “Not yet, not for now” “I'm sorry to hear that man, we all here hoping she gets better, do let me know if there's anything I can do.” Tearing up, Adam removed his hands from his face and placed them on his chest, before solemnly nodding, “Thank you, Miles, I appreciate” “Anytime brother” was Miles’s reply, before the line went dead. Sighing, Adam adjusted himself at the foot of her bed as he looked upon his child, lying on the bed in the room he had specially curated for her with the help of one of the best interior decorators in town. He couldn't take his eyes off her as he stared at her, His daughter had not opened her eyes since they had rescued her, her skin was still completely pale and her body unmoving, the only indication tha

CHAPTER EIGHTY-EIGHT
Mr Nasty as Adrien had referred to him, was a man named Curtis Hills, the president of Hills Group, and an arrogant and mean man. It was said that his family were tied to the mafia world, and so Curtis saw himself as untouchable, and one who could get away with anything. He was currently seated in one of the high restaurants in their province, berating one of their staff, “How inept can you be you fool? Do you not know how to properly serve someone?! Take this miserable thing off my sight this minute” while the waiter trembled beside him, he swept off everything from the table and splashed the glass of wine in his hand onto the waiter, causing the waiter to cower further, tears mixing with the wine that dripped down his face. Bending down, the trembling waiter tried gathering all he could before scurrying away, while he ran, Curtis yelled at the top of his lungs “I want you fired! I'm going to ensure that you no longer work here and your job is stripped off you, you inept fool”

“Sir, I think you should ignore these two men and continue eating your meal, I'm certain the security will handle them” Leaning forward to Curtis, while smiling widely at him, Cecilia gave her unsolicited input. Curtis only gave her a ghost of a smile before continuing to glare at Adam and his companion. Both Adam and Adrien shared a glance between themselves as Cecilia began speaking after entering the midst, subtly raising their eyebrows at each other before taking their eyes away and scoffing lightly, with a smirk remaining on Adam’s lips. Keeping his hands out of his pockets, while also ignoring Cecilia and her unwanted presence, Adam faced the man he had come in search of and spoke in a relaxed and calm way, “Mr Curtis, I've been informed that you're the only one in possession of that herb. I'd like to know how much you'd want to charge to let me have it, you would be saving a life that is of utmost importance to me” While he had been speaking, Cecilia sniggered at the bac

CHAPTER NINTY
Everybody's eyes went wide as soon as they saw Curtis bowing, including Cecilia whose eyes were as round as saucers as she watched the extreme change in the attitude of Curtis. Was this fellow blinded, into not seeing the filth that stood in front of him, ‘One minute he was supposed to have Adam thrown out like the filthy thrash that he was, and the very next he's bowing to him?!’ Cecilia wondered to herself, as she struggled to make sense of the scenario before her, At that moment, she felt she needed to say something to help Curtis from his misplaced respect, with her brows creased together, she exclaimed in a loud voice, “Sir, are you sure you're not mistaken by bowing that to this man and calling him Master? I ask you to please take a good look at him, you are too noble to reduce yourself into bowing to him” Curtis, whose ears were already filled with Cecilia and her unrequested inputs, began to seethe inwards, but kept his mouth shut, only clenching his fist tightly. Although Louisa and her mother had been kicked out of the restaurant, both women hadn't left the premises. Despite the embarrassment and humiliation Cecilia had faced, she had been adamant towards Louisa, wanting to find out the outcome of Curtis' outburst and his ignorant display of respect towards the unworthy Adam, hence both women hid themselves in the car to Louisa's chagrin. Back in the restaurant, after Louisa and Cecilia had been sent out, Curtis's head and mind began reeling, he could hardly believe he was before someone like Adam, who wore the ring that he knew to be of great power, no ordinary person could be in possession of the ring, but looking at Adam he looked as ordinary as the next door guy, looking over at Adam and his demeanour, he was beginning to have his doubt. He found it quite absurd that Adam was the bearer of the ring, such an ordinary man couldn't be wearing the Maracuda Ornate so casually, Whoever wore the ring knew the power it possessed and would not l
