Chapter 231
Slade drove towards the shabby building. He pulled over right in front of the building. There was an unusual atmosphere that greeted him. It wasn't of hostility, but he wasn't entirely comfortable with it. When he walked into the building, he saw a couple of elderly women surrounding the man on the bed. They all made a circle around the man. The man on the bed was sitting. He seemed to be having a conversation with the women. The faces of the women were solemn and moody. Whatever the man was telling them must be something either scary or sad. Slade remained at the door, staring directly at the old man, Ihara. Some of the words of the men started flowing in his direction. "The head of the axe then flew away. Right in that same moment, the beast was charging. It was coming with full speed, but there I stood, helpless, as I watched death racing in my direction. There was no way I could have escaped the beast. Its speed was beyond what I have ever experienced. When I realised the weig
Chapter 232
Slade walked into the hut. Everyone was on their faces as he walked in. Even Slade himself didn't understand how he had come to exude so much light energy from his body. He had never been able to achieve something like this before. In fact, he didn't know that he was capable of something like it. It was one of those many skills and abilities that just sprouted by the order of events. Slade wasn't entirely amused either. There has been a lot of situations when he was discovered to have done things that mouth cannot express. For example, the fact that he fought the other lady in his dream whereas the lady swore to have fought him in her right mind. He stopped when he got to the old man, Ihara. He leaned forward and touched the man's shoulder. Without any word said, the man got up on his feet and followed Slade. Slade led the way to a very secluded area. When he found out that it was only a matter of time before the rest of the people got up and came looking for them, he came to the
Chapter 233
Slade jumped on his feet when he heard this. He couldn't believe his ears. He didn't care that he was supposed to act cool as an immortal mage who had seen it all. He allowed the shock wave to hit every corner of his brain. "The Sceptre?" Slade asked, his eyes almost popping out of his face. "Do you know him?" Ihara was equally surprised by the way Slade had reacted after hearing the name. "You look very surprised."Slade had to hold back the shock wave for a moment. He couldn't compromise the most important thing he had been searching for all along. Finally, he had gotten a solid lead that could potentially take him to the Spectre, he couldn't be patient anymore. Although, he knew that patience was the best bet for this situation. "Where is he?" Slade hit the nail on its head.Ihara, who still not understanding how serious the situation had become, was staring at Slade as though Slade had something unusual on his face. "I can't tell you precisely where he is." Ihara confessed.
Chapter 234
Darkness encircled him, but he wasn't scared. He remained standing where he was for a moment. His ears were peeled and his entire body was active, aware of the slightest movement around him. For this period of time, everything was still and silent. Even though he was silent, keeping track of every noise detail and other random attractions, there was nothing of concern happening. He took a step forward. When he took a step forward, he stopped all of a sudden. He felt as though as soon as he took the step, something moved, too. Slade didn't really know how to explain this. Perhaps it was the fact that he had moved. Giving that this place was silent and overly quiet, it would make a lot of sense that the noise he thought he heard was from his own movement. He took another step. This time, he didn't feel anything. He sighed at last. Perhaps he was just hyperactive, worrying about getting ambushed. Ihara had told him that if he took the mantle, he would find himself where the Spectre
Chapter 235
The light that came on made Slade aware of where he was. Opposed to how this place seemed earlier, it was actually a well furnished modern living room of a fully detached duplex. Not only was the building beautiful, but its interior was just perfect.Slade began to wonder how so much darkness had been registered earlier that he found himself here. It didn't take him too much time to come to an obvious conclusion. It was just mainly because the man must have shielded the entire space in deep darkness to his own advantage. "You?" The old man's shocked voice snapped Slade out of the thoughts. Slade's gaze was restored on the man's face. There was a big wave of shock flowing from one corner of the man's face to the other. "But I just killed you." The man argued. "That's right." Slade nodded, walking towards the man, "You just killed me. But that was my clone." "A clone?" The old man's jaws dropped when he heard this. It's been several years since he heard that word. It didn't always
Chapter 236
There was a sequence of wild wave of breeze that flowed through a path of the Heaven Coast Forest. There was a random fluctuation in the flow, but the pattern was recurring over and over again. This continued for another couple of moments as the dried leaves littered along the path were manipulated to assume a dancing pose that they never wanted to be a part of.The branches of sturdy trees were also swaying to this rhythmic pattern of the unusual force. The tone and tune of this breeze came chill but the omen that it introduced was quite beyond words. The birds that were lurking in the trees suddenly took flight. This definitely wasn't the time for any of them to get funny ideas. If they tarried any longer, the breeze would freeze them into numbness. There was something particularly odd about the breeze. Although it was soft and gentle, yet there was this hostility that was evident in its dances. It dances to squash into a pulp. Ivana stood in the middle of the path up ahead as th
Chapter 237
The creatures started walking towards her. As they walked towards her, she moved to the back. The closer they walked, the cautious Ivana was. When Ivana had thought about having an opponent, she had thought of having someone worthy. But she didn't think that a nuclear bomb could be presented at a gun's fight. Bagyls were types of Satyrs. Satyrs were creatures that were half human and half goat. They mostly have the bodies of humans. From their head to the waist is the body of a man, while down the waist to the legs were that of a goat. Ivana had thought naturally that these creatures were mere Satyrs. But coming to discover that they were more than this took her by surprise. In her life, she had fought a lot of creatures and had defeated them, Satyrs included. But Bagyls? She had never even seen them let alone fight them! This was why she was being very cautious around these creatures. She didn't know what these creatures were capable of. If she knew she would have been preparing
Chapter 238
A confused grunt escaped the lungs of the Bagyls. Ivana had sent them off so easily. Of course there might be something shady about all of this, yet they had been driven to go retrieve the IGMA. Without retrieving it, they wouldn't find peace. The Bagyls turned away from her and started walking away. Their paces were timed and sequential, although once in a while there was a subtle change in their body movements. This part was something that she couldn't really explain. Ivana watched as they walked away. There was no point in holding them back. If she was to fight them, then she would just be wasting her time. This wasn't that type of fight that she wanted to be a part of. The IGMA was no longer on the island. There was no reason to hold the Bagyls back from going to the island. If they go there and can't find the IGMA, there were the possibilities of two things happening:One, the Bagyls would come back looking for her. And when they find her eventually, it would be quite a deadly
Chapter 239
Araguta stood at the front of the blazing fire. The body of Slade was burning at his feet. His eyes were keen on the body as though he was expecting anything unusual to happen out of the blue. He didn't have to set the clone on fire because the clone had dissolved not long after he had attacked the main body. Also, not long after he attacked the main body, he had dragged the body out of his house to the garden at the back. There, he had taken a cup of fuel and bathed the corpse in it. After which he lit blue flames from his fingertip and threw it at the body. Although the body had taken a long time to burn into ashes, proving that the man that he had just killed was not just a mere human! If it was a mere human, he would have felt bad. In fact, when he started out burning the corpse of Slade, if the flame burned a part of the body, then the body would renew its flesh and look even more beautiful and clear. Araguta had been scared witless by this. Even though he wss blind in both
Chapter 240
"How can this be?" Araguta was swarmed by utter confusion. This was beyond any logic of human. "I burnt you to ashes. How come you're..." He trailed off for a moment. He wouldn't have been this shocked and surprised if a little boy hadn't appeared to him while he was fortifying his duplex. If he hadn't seen the little boy and had gone to sleep, he would have thought that perhaps Slade's spirit has come to haunt him in his sleep. Right at this moment, Araguta didn't know how to make meaning of what was happening right now. He was trying to use all his logic yet nothing seemed to prove useful. "This cannot be. Is this some sort of magic? Dark magic?" He moved away from the familiar face staring at him. When he looked around, the entire place was large and endless. It was a stretch of large field whose end could not be seen. Even if he were to make a run for it, there was no guarantee that he would find a place to hide. "You haven't noticed it yet, have you?" Slade asked, taking a
