Varrick sat by himself with a good book, Darwin sharpened his daggers and Sydney knitted sweaters in a chair as they waited for dinner. Cold sweat soaked both the pillow and silk beddings. Anaya's breathing moved fast while her heartbeat threatened to break her heart free from her chest. Everything appeared misty while the room continued spinning. Her panic caused yet another hyperventilation episode. But before she could descend into a further state of panic, soft warm hands took hold of her body, which were contrary to her own clammy, rough and pale hands. A gentle voice asked "Are you okay?"
