Chapter 2

Ace furrowed his brows, feeling puzzled. "What system? Where does this wealth come from?" he asked in bewilderment.

Ace shook his head and chuckled, finding it amusing. "Is it really true that I suddenly have a wealth system?" he couldn't believe it.

[INTRODUCING, I AM THE WEALTH SYSTEM]

[A WEALTH OF 100 MILLION DOLLARS WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO YOUR ACCOUNT]

[BUT, YOU MUST OBEY THE FIRST COMMAND]

Ace trembled slightly; 100 million dollars was a significant amount.

"Who are you? Where did you get this money?" Ace wondered, looking around as if searching for the source of the echoing voice in his ears and mind.

[THE FIRST COMMAND IS TO SPEND THE MONEY]

Ace smiled. Spending that much money?

Ace looked for a secluded place, not wanting anyone else to hear the voice of his wealth system.

"Wow! Now I can pay my rent. And I'll buy a new house," Ace exclaimed with joy. He was ecstatic about receiving 100 million dollars, especially when he was in dire financial straits.

[SORRY, YOU CANNOT SPEND THIS MONEY FOR PERSONAL USE]

Ace's smile faded. "What's your problem? Why can't I spend it as I please? It's my money," he grumbled in frustration.

[IF YOU SPEND THE MONEY FOR PERSONAL EXPENSES, WE WILL DEDUCT IT TO 50 DOLLARS]

Ace was taken aback. "Why such a massive deduction? Are you trying to play with me?" He had felt like he was soaring high in the sky, but now he was being brought back to Earth.

Of course, Ace didn't want his balance to be wiped out, leaving only 50 dollars.

Ace took out his phone from his pocket. He couldn't wait to check his bank account, hoping the 100 million dollars had been transferred.

Click!

Ace sighed in frustration. "My balance is still zero. When are you going to transfer it?" He felt like he was being toyed with by this strange wealth system. His hand had been ready to spend money, especially on his unfulfilled personal needs.

[400,000 DOLLARS SUCCESSFULLY TRANSFERRED TO YOUR BANK]

What? 400,000 dollars?

"Why is the amount so little?" Ace's mouth gaped open. He panicked and felt bewildered. He rubbed his eyes, hoping his vision wasn't blurry when looking at the new bank account notification.

[YOU MUST SPEND 400,000 DOLLARS TODAY]

[YOU HAVE ONLY 2 HOURS FROM NOW]

[IF YOU DON'T SPEND IT ALL IMMEDIATELY, YOU WILL FACE CONSEQUENCES]

Ace was puzzled. "What should I spend it on?" He thought for a moment, unsure of what to purchase with such a large sum of money.

Ace's eyes caught sight of a bustling, luxurious mall.

"I'll just shop in the mall; I don't know what could be so expensive," Ace said as he walked towards the mall. It was his first time entering a mall, and he was amazed by the cool air and the elegant displays of luxury items.

Ace approached a watch showcase.

Coincidentally, Agatha and Nathan had just entered the mall. They headed to a nearby handbag showcase. Agatha's eyes lit up when she saw a shiny pink handbag displayed at the front.

Agatha exclaimed, "Darling! I want this bag. Can you buy it for me?" Her eyes were fixed on the elegant, sparkling pink bag. She had to have it, and Nathan was expected to buy it for her.

Nathan reluctantly stopped in his tracks because Agatha was interested and facing the glass display of handbags.

"You already have many bags, and it's the same color, pink, white, and navy blue," Nathan said lazily and glanced at the hefty price tag attached to the bag.

Agatha pouted. "But this is different, darling! Can't you see? It's a limited edition," Agatha pointed to it. She wanted to show off the bag to her friends.

"I don't want to be perceived as wasteful by my mother-in-law by spending money recklessly. You understand, dear," Nathan pressed each word. It seemed Agatha's original nature was extravagance.

"Darling, I want the bag!" Agatha stamped her feet and sulked.

"Let's just have a meal. Didn't you have a meeting with Lily?" Nathan gently held Agatha's hand and led her away.

"Agatha!" Lily exclaimed, patting her shoulder.

"Lily?" Agatha immediately hugged Lily, clearly missing him.

Lily glanced at a well-dressed man in a black suit. "Who's he?" She pointed at Nathan, whom he hadn't seen before.

"Introduce yourself, he's my boyfriend, Nathan. My own boss from the car company. Impressive, isn't it?" Agatha boasted, elevating Nathan's name over Ace's.

Ace heard Agatha's voice and turned to face them. "More impressive than a cheap woman who willingly let her lips be kissed by another man without her boyfriend's knowledge," he muttered angrily. His fist clenched tightly.

"Sorry, but isn't Ace your boyfriend? I remember you were in love with Ace, not Nathan," Lily whispered suspiciously.

"Ace who ended it, actually. I have no right to end it," Agatha lied. She twisted the facts to avoid being cornered.

"If you become the girlfriend of a boss, your social status should rise. At least you're on par with him. And make a good impression on your future mother-in-law," Lily pointed to the pink bag that had caught Agatha's eye. She smiled slyly as Agatha looked helplessly at the unaffordable item.

Lily looked around and locked eyes with Ace. "Hey! Ace!" She called out and approached him. Fate had brought them together.

Ace smiled, trying to stay calm. "Hi, Lily," he greeted softly.

"Do you like the bag?" Ace asked, moving closer to Lily.

Ace wanted to see Agatha's reaction.

"I like it, but I already have that pink bag. I want a different limited edition," Lily begged.

Agatha was holding back her breath when she saw Ace in the mall.

"Miss!" Ace called to the female shop assistant guarding the bag showcase.

"Yes, sir?" She responded, smiling warmly.

"Give me the limited edition bag. I'd like to buy it," Ace casually ordered. His eyes were on Agatha, who was sulking and sighing repeatedly. His ex-girlfriend was clearly jealous.

The saleswoman handed the silver bag to Ace. "This is the first limited edition bag. We don't display it because it's usually purchased by female celebrities," she explained.

"I'll buy this one," Ace nodded, feeling sure.

"It costs $380,000, sir. Please pay now, and we can provide you with the new silver edition as soon as you make the purchase."

Ace closed his eyes. 'I'll pay for this. Wealth system, I've completed my first task,' his thoughts said, and the timer showed one more hour remaining.

[BALANCE OF $380,000 HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED TO YOUR ACCOUNT. PLEASE VERIFY.]

Ace grinned mischievously. He handed his bank card to the shop assistant.

"Sir, are you really going to pay for it?" The shop assistant exclaimed doubtfully. Her voice rose loudly, drawing the attention of passersby.

Agatha shook her head in disbelief. "Ace! What are you doing here?" She asked, her eyes wide. She knew Ace was poor and couldn't possibly pay $380,000 for a limited edition silver bag.

"Ace, was it really you who ended it?" Nathan asked, feeling puzzled. He didn't like Agatha being seen as Ace's girlfriend.

Agatha's eyes welled with tears. "Ace is a liar! He broke up with me! He's the one who cheated, darling," not wanting to be backed into a corner, Agatha tried to defend herself.

"You're twisting the facts, Agatha. Whether you accuse me of cheating on you or whatever, I don't care. I just bought the bag for Lily," Ace retorted, not wanting to be defeated by false facts.

"And you, Lily," Nathan pointed at Lily, "You came all the way to Germany just to buy a bag?" Nathan looked at Lily cynically.

"Miss!" Ace called the female store clerk who was guarding the bag display.

"Yes, sir?" She responded and smiled politely.

"Give me the limited edition bag. I want to buy it," Ace instructed nonchalantly. His eyes were on Agatha, who was sulking and sighing repeatedly. His ex-girlfriend was clearly envious.

Then, the same shop assistant handed the silver bag to Ace. "This is the first limited edition. We don't display it because it's usually bought by female celebrities," she explained.

"I'll take this one," Ace nodded confidently.

"It's priced at $380,000, sir. Please pay now, and we can provide you with the new silver edition as soon as you make the purchase."

Ace closed his eyes. 'I'll pay for this. Wealth system, I've completed my first task,' his thoughts said, and the timer showed one more hour remaining.

Ace grinned provocatively. He handed his bank card to the shop assistant.

"Sir, are you really going to pay for it?" The shop assistant exclaimed skeptically. Her voice grew louder and drew the attention of passersby.

Agatha shook her head in disbelief. "Ace! What are you doing here?" She asked, her eyes wide. She knew Ace was poor and couldn't possibly pay $380,000 for a limited edition silver bag.
