CHAPTER 003

Louis hastily pulled down her skirt, and pulled up her panties, as she sighed loudly, her eyes fixed at Kendrick for some minutes.

"What the f*CK!!, Who the hell is this, babe?"

The tall man who happened to be a rich fellow, an heir to Da Thrones Nation of Millionaires yelled at Louis, as he fumed bitterly trying to buckle his belts.

"He is… it's no one babe, … I can explain…"

Louis stammered as she was caught red-handed, clinging to Alexander Bones who wanted to storm out of the room angrily.

"Explain what? I want to hear your explanations!! What do you have to say?"

Kendrick yelled as he breathed heavily. His world felt empty that very moment. His eyes thickened with urgency as he stared at her, but then Louis shocked him the more.

"Shut your traps and never say another word, How many times have I asked you to sign the fucking divorce papers and yet you refuse?"

She screamed at him, her words landed on Kendrick's heart, shattering it into many pieces.

His face usually composed and gentle contorted in a mixture of shock and agony, his eyes widened. Pupils dilating as the reality of the scene seared itself into his mind.

"Y... you don't seem to feel remorse for what you did, Louis' ' Kendrick forced words out of his mouth again, his eyes clouded with tears but he held it.

He felt a visceral chill run down his spine, a shock so profound that left him momentarily paralyzed. His mouth opened slightly but no other word emerged; the weight of the humiliation had ruined his day, now his wife's betrayal had stolen his voice.

In a minute, Katherine Rogers along with Peace Churchill, Louis' mother rushed to the scene after a maid had informed them that Kendrick had left the kitchen into the main building.

The atmosphere in the room was suffocating, the air thick with the scent of infidelity.

"What the hell is happening here?"

Katherine Rogers asked, and Kendrick turned to her immediately, by now the lovers lost in their deciet were fully dressed while Louis kept raining abuses on Kendrick.

"Kendrick, how the hell did you manage to leave the kitchen? I told never to leave the kitchen until the end of the party, today, didn't I? Katherine screamed at him, not saying a word to Alexander who sat on the chair, his head bent to the ground.

" But Grandmother-in-law… What do you mean? Did you say I shouldn't leave the kitchen so I wouldn't see this?" Kendrick replied coldly but his words fell on deaf ears.

"And now that you've seen it, what are you gonna do? What do you think happened here?" Peace Churchill replied back forcibly.

"You thought I could allow my daughter to remain with a poor and battered thing like you for the rest of her life, did you?Oh… no, that's too far from reality. No woman in her rightful senses would allow that, you man"

Kendrick turned again to Louis who sat on the couch without remorse, she was panting, her face looking sullen and different as she leaned on Alexander's shoulders .

" Louis, how could you do this to me?, I trusted you with my life, I mean, I loved you beyond measure." Kendrick sobbed a bit as he spoke.

"Oh, for goodness sake, spare her with the love trash talk, she never loved you and that's final, and no one would allow her beautiful and curvy daughter to settle with a shameful man like you" Peace replied and turned to Louis who winked at her with a smile.

"Now that you've found this, I would allow her burst your bubbles and calm your nerves a bit" Katherine interrupted as she tapped Louis to speak up.

"Spill the beans my daughter, spill it to this peasant" Katherine said.

Louis smiled again, then turned to Kendrick who was staring at her in anticipation. Her eyes rolled as she spoke.

"I'm pregnant and it's for Alexander!!"

Kendrick's eyes flared up instantly, his heart sinking into a tempest of emotions - rage, sorrow, panic, disbelief churning within him, he could feel the weight of the betrayal pressing on his shoulders. His hands trembled, fingers twitching as if reaching for something to anchor him in his nightmare.

He glanced at Louis one last time as he stormed out of the house, banging the door behind him.

************

Outside the Rogers mansion, his phone chimbed. He fumed without looking at it, but then it rang the second time, he reached for his pocket and brought it out, checked the screen and the ID showed an unrecognised number. He picked the call and placed it on speaker.

"Hello my boy"

A bold and heavy male voice filled with poised sounded from the other side, he listened again before replying, he could recognize it, it was his father's voice.

"Congratulations son, now you're a man, you've just passed the test you were given. Mention your location so I send my drivers to pick you up".

Kendrick felt a surge of release wash over him as he heard the congratulatory response from his father, he had not expected that anytime soon.

And now, he would face the world in another dimension, not as a maid but as a royalty. His face radiated like the morning sun, he smiled till his lips curved, rounding his cheeks.

"Yess!!"

He screamed, folding his fists and punching the air, the calm evening breeze blew over his face making his hair dangle.

"Have you heard, son?" His father responded again and he chuckled.

"Okay, dad"

He managed to utter a reply, his voice sounding light and pleasing, disbelief washed over him.

Must he be kidding? When did he travel down here?"

He muttered to himself gently, conveying the depths of his curiosity.

"When should I expect you, dad?

He asked hurriedly but then his father lingered for some minutes before responding.

"For passing this test, I can say you're a man now and $20,000,000,000 has been paid into your accounts now".

Kendrick's heart raced as he processed his father's words. His mind struggled to comprehend the enormity of the sum—$20,000,000,000. It was a figure beyond his wildest dreams, a sum that promised unimaginable possibilities.

"Thank you, Dad! This is... I don't know what to say!"

The screen loaded slowly, each second stretching into an eternity. When the numbers finally appeared, Kendrick's eyes widened, and his breath caught in his throat. There it was, a string of zeros that seemed almost surreal.

His knees felt weak, and he sank onto the porch steps, the reality of his newfound fortune washing over him in waves.

"Are you still there, son?" His father's voice crackled through the phone.
