007 -

An hour later, the girl returns with two friends, while Jimmy himself has been yawning so many times in boredom. He sees one of them prepares the motorbike and then takes it outside for a test drive.

The other one comes to Jimmy giving two boxes, one containing a helmet, and the other one containing a set of touring outfits; shoes, one jacket, and a pair of gloves.

Soon, the guy who went for a test drive comes back with Jimmy’s new bike, while Jimmy has been holding his excitement.

At last, he will experience how it feels to be a rich guy, buying his own motorbike with his own money. No one will call him a freeloader anymore.

“Here, the changes,” Amy gives Jimmy some dollars and coins along with purchase receipt, Jimmy’s ID card, and also the document of the ownership of the new motorbike.

“So, you really got into an accident, huh? I bet you haven’t had a shower for a while. Don't you want to stay here for a night at least? You can take a shower at my place if you want.”

The way this sales girl treating Jimmy has significantly changed, and of course there’s something she is expecting by offering a place to stay.

But Jimmy doesn't say a word. He is busy counting the changes, while Amy is still waiting with so much enthusiasm, expecting for Jimmy’s response.

After counting the money, Jimmy finds the amount is just right as what was printed in the receipt. However…

“It is $100 short!” says Jimmy.

Amy looks confused. She snatches the purchase receipt back from Jimmy to check the numbers, but…

“No! It’s that $100 I gave you before,” says Jimmy.

“You mean the money you gave for the plastic bag? You are asking that money back?” the girl looks confused.

“Don’t take that I would buy a plastic bag for $100. It was just a guarantee that I would come back. It’s only collateral. And I did come back. You can keep that plastic bag, and give me back my money!”

The girl’s confused face slowly turns sour. She takes out that $100 and then gives it back to Jimmy by glaring her eyes at him.

“You stingy!”

Jimmy keeps his face flat without showing any emotion. In fact, he is holding the urge to laugh. But then, he lets out his chuckle, and then walks away by shaking his head.

He gets outside, where his new bike is waiting for him. He looks so ready to have a long journey to get back to Summerfield.

He can’t stop imagining what the people at home will say to him after finding him come home with a new luxurious touring bike.

“No, they must be confused instead of surprised. I need to come up with some story to explain it to them.”

Meanwhile, the sales girl just stares at Jimmy’s back with whatever thought she has in her mind, at least until a friend of hers, a sales girl named Lily, comes stealing her attention.

“Hey, Amy! You know that guy?” Lily asks.

“Nope! He’s just a high school teenager from Summerfield,” replies Amy before she walks away. “He said he got into an accident recently, and wants to go back to Summerfield with that bike.”

“Eh? An accident? And a high school teenager from Summerfield? Wait!”

That one sales girl named Lily rushes back to the office to check Jimmy's information again.

“Lily! What’s this all about?” asks Amy, coming to Lily with her curiosity.

“Jimmy Hendrix?” mumbles Lily as she reads Jimmy’s data in her personal computer. “Just as I thought! It must be him!”

“What?” Amy asks with a clueless face, expecting something interesting.

“Haven’t you heard about the bus accident at Boslow Hill two days ago?” replies Lily.

Amy just shakes her head lightly with a confused face.

“It claimed 11 lives, and one student was reported missing and has not been found to date,” Lilly continues.

“Don’t tell me!” Amy mumbles.

“Yeah! The missing student’s name is Jimmy Hendrix,” Lilly affirms. “You know what? There’s a reward on his missing poster. They offer $500,000 for any information leading to his whereabouts.”

“That much?” Amy looks so stupid to hear those numbers. “He only went missing for two days, and they already offered that much money as reward?”

“Maybe that number isn’t that much for them. Who knows?” Lily raises her shoulders a little.

There Amy starts to believe that Jimmy might really come from a rich family. She bits her lower lip, regretting that she has missed a golden opportunity to hook up a guy from a rich family.

Not to mention that the last impression Jimmy left makes her believe that Jimmy had an interest in her. If only she treated Jimmy better, the chances of her getting Jimmy would be greater, she believes.

But then, without thinking much, she immediately makes a call. “I'm going to call the police! We'll claim that reward and split the money!”

However...

“Claiming the reward?” Lilly scrunches her face. “What are you going to tell the police? The guy himself is not here. He is already on his way back home.”

Amy shuts silent while holding the phone, ignoring the operator who is currently responding to her emergency call.

Lily shakes her head with a silly smile, leaving Amy with her blank face. Soon, Amy rushes to check on Jimmy’s data once more in Lily’s personal computer, looking for Jimmy’s phone number.

Sadly, Jimmy doesn’t have a phone at all. But he did leave his aunt’s home phone number behind, and Amy saves it in her contact list.

Meanwhile, Jimmy is enjoying the smoothness of his new motorbike. He doesn’t seem to be in any rush to get to Summerfield, instead taking the time to wander around for a while at a leisurely pace along the beach.

He takes the time to buy new clothes, not too fancy but at least not as bad as his slightly torn T-shirt. And then he takes a shower in a public bath on the beach.

“It said I could also collect more gold coins by hunting rheas and zombies. It’s dangerous, but with enough preparation, it’s not that hard to raise money from completing the quest. I better take shooting lessons at least before summer vacation.”

The money he just earned did not necessarily make him the richest person in Iodrana. But he likes the potential.
