It hits Jimmy so hard that he is flung two meters away and falls into a deeper part of the river. The snake isn’t letting that chance slip, and immediately slithers toward him.

Jimmy clearly sees the snake’s head underwater, while the gun is no longer in his hand. And there’s no way to issue any command now.

Just as the snake opens its mouth to eat Jimmy, it suddenly behaves strangely. It’s thrashing around like it's in so much pain.
