Chapter 5: The System from Narukha's Head

Narukha's head was spinning.

As his eyes slowly opened, he began to catch a faint light. It was so dazzling that it made him blink repeatedly to adjust his vision to the room's light.

Narukha groaned. The more his eyes opened, the more dazzling light in this room felt stabbing his eyes. But he still forced himself to open his eyes, watching the white ceiling of the room.

'Argh... what is this?' muttered Narukha.

Slowly his eyes scanned the room. Narukha was confused why almost everything was white. Only the lines on the four sides of the ceiling are gray.

Narukha tried to get up. But he realized that his hands were stretched out locked handcuffs. He repeatedly jerked his hands away, but he realized again that his legs were locked in handcuffs as well.

Narukha's consciousness suddenly returned to its fullest. When he lifted his face, he saw his body sitting half on his back. In the center of its abdomen, there was something like a coiled handcuff.

Wait. Where is he now?

Narukha remembered that when his family was still wealthy, a chairs like this were used as a chairs for executing human experiments by laboratories.

With full strength, Narukha jerked both hands and feet. But his stomach just felt cramped because it was held back by the thick coiled iron.

[WELCOME TO OUR WHITE ENJOY ROOM!]

A voice appeared suddenly.

Narukha was surprised. His movement stops. He looked up, looked around, but there was no one.

[PLEASE SIT DOWN PROPERLY WHILE WAITING US FOR IDENTIFY YOUR IDENTIFICATION!]

"WHO ARE YOU?!" Narukha suddenly shouted.

The next second there was a long 'thiiiit' sound like a sound system error. Narukha's voice was deafening.

[IDENTIFY DONE. WE ANNOUNCE YOU ONE MORE TO SIT DOWN PROPERLY. NOW WE NEED TO MATCH YOUR PERSONAL DATA, LISTEN PEACEFULLY....]

A blue screen suddenly appeared stretching across Narukha's face. Narukha flinched and widened his eyes.

What was even more surprising was that Narukha saw the blue screen showing an empty box. Then a photo of a person appears in the upper left corner of the box, before finally writing after writing appears to fill in the blanks in the box on the blue screen.

After paying close attention, Narukha realized that the person's photo was her.

Narukha was taken aback, stunned for a few seconds. His tongue is numb. How could a blue screen suddenly appear in front of his face?!

What's more, suddenly writing appeared on the blue screen box, moving quickly horizontally. To form a description of Narukha's biodata. It looks like a computer screen when someone is typing a task or whatever.

"What is this?!" his grunts do not accept as well as confused.

It is clear that the name listed on the bio is Narukha. Short and concise.

Who else if not him?

[MATCH ON PROGRESS. ALLOW US TO READ YOUR PERSONAL DATA FOR THIS MATCH PROGRESS....]

Narukha didn't answer. Before he could opened his mouth, the sound of the system was heard again.

[NARUKHA, TWENTY FOUR YEARS OLD, BORN IN CITY OF LONDON ON SEVENTEEN AUGUST TWO THOUSAND TWENTY NINE ....]

"Arghh! Who are you really?! Why do you keep talking?!" Narukha sounded frustrated.

The problem was that Narukha couldn't find the source of the sound. The blue screen in front of his face now made him dizzy. It felt as if these blue screen lights were coming from both eyes.

Narukha could only grin as he shook his head. Had closed his eyes, but the blue screen still appeared when his eyes opened.

"ARGH! CAN'T YOU EXPLAIN WHO YOU ARE?! WHO TRADED ME HERE?!"

But the sound of the system still continued regardless of Narukha's annoyance. The more the sound of the system sounded, the more Narukha couldn't hold back his annoyance.

"Can you stop?!" Narukha once again protested.

[... YOUR PERSONAL DATA HAS BEEN MATCHED. WE NEED TO IDENTIFY YOUR FACE.]

Then suddenly from the blue screen a light appeared like a scan machine that shone on Narukha's face. Move slowly up and down repeatedly.

Narukha squinted, almost closing his eyes at times, because the light scan didn't stop moving.

[THE IDENTIFICATION IS SUCCESS. YOU HAVE BEEN REGISTERED YOURSELF TO OUR SYSTEM DATA. NOW YOU CAN USE THIS SYSTEM DATA FOR ALL YOUR NEEDS.]

[DO YOU WANT TO GO BACK TO HOME PAGE? PLEASE TAP THE OPTIONS ON YOUR SCREEN: YES OR NO?]

Narukha confused. He didn't choose right away because he had thinking what all this meant. His face still radiated anxiety, but on the other side, he was so curious.

Then Narukha reached out and touched 'Yes' choice. The display of his biodata has disappeared to be replaced by the appearance of the logo of three buildings with a moon-like circle as the background.

There is an inscription in a very clear font: Portal Dimensity.

Then on top of the logo there is an inscription: WELCOME TO.

When Narukha was paying attention to the view that was called the homepage, the view changed again. Incoming phone call.

[MR. CARL IS CALLING, NARUKHA. DO YOU MIND TO PICK UP THE CALL?]

Narukha confused again. On that phone call, there was a photo showing someone's face. His appearance was so formal that Narukha could immediately judge that he was someone important.

"Yes," Narukha spoke spontaneously.

Then the blue screen display changed to someone's face. Narukha jumped in surprise because he didn't expect it'll be a video call.

"Welcome, Mr. Narukha!" An adult man in the video call greeted Narukha.

Narukha's breath was pumping fast as long as the shock was still felt.

"Hey, you surprised?" Someone named Carl chuckled.

After the shock subsided, Narukha took a deep breath.

"Why isn't anything clear here?" asked Narukha in a grumbling tone.

Carl raised his eyebrows, interested in hearing Narukha's question.

"What do you mean by saying that? You should be grateful for sneaking into the Dimensional Portal like a thief."

Narukha laughed sarcastically. "I take nothing like you all. Thief of life."

"Life stealer?" Carl was again provoked to feel interested in that term. "But we're not killers, Kid—"

"Stop calling me kid. Haven't you gotten any information about me, including my age?" Narukha sarcastically interrupted Carl's words.

Then Narukha looked away nonchalantly.

"You have a system that looks great and seems to come out of my two eyes. Why don't you know my age?"

Carl was silent for a moment. But the twinkle of interest still radiated from both eyes.

The figure of Narukha who didn't want to be influenced made him feel attracted.

"You really attrack my interest, Narukha."

Narukha looked at Carl confused. "Because of what?"

Carl thought for a moment. His forehead creased with a mysterious smile.

"You're someone from a poor, but you were able to have a strategy of sneaking into the Dimensional Portal. You even escaped all of our officers' strict guard..."

"Except what's happening right now," Narukha interjected. He jerked his arms, legs, and stomach. "Shit! Why do you have to handcuff me all over?"

"In your mind, there's only me as the handcuff?"

With a straight face, Narukha replied, "You're a boss, right? At least if you plan to dodge it, change your clothes to looks like a poor people."

Carl tilted his head slightly. The more he paid attention to Narukha, the more Carl didn't expect someone as brave as Narukha. Yet so far Carl is respected by many people.

"Come to think of it, you have a bright brain. You have tried to determined people like you have the sign of a great plan."

"A great plan?" Narukha asked.

"What is your goal to come up with a strategy to sneak into the Dimensional Portal?"

"Because people are dying before my eyes every day," said Narukha. "I thought you guys were working hard to find a way to not have that many deaths.

"It turns out that you guys are just having fun with the sophistication of technology here without thinking about the people out there having to face their deaths."

"Really? That's your excuse?" Carl looks like he's holding back a laugh.

"Why?"

"Very weird," replied Carl. "The people who come here think only of enjoying themselves. No one comes with the excuse that other people's lives are dying before their eyes."

"Because you are a bunch of creatures without a brain and conscience," Narukha replied flatly.

Carl didn't seem surprised to hear Narukha's words. When Carl just looked at Narukha with an expression full of disbelief, Narukha cleared her throat.

"Just say it to the point. Who are you? What system is in front of my face right now? Why are you suddenly making a video call with me?"

"Woah, woah, you have so many questions. Can't you just take things slowly and one by one?"

Narukha shook his head. "No way. Tell me all the answers, now."

"Besides, you can't do anything if I don't want to explain everything to you. The only thing I can say is..."

Narukha waited for Carl who was seen opening something. Carl's eyes looked down staring at whatever—Narukha can't guess it right.

"You, Narukha, because of my personal attraction to you—not in a romantic context, I mean, do you want me to give you a way to save the people in the evacuation?"

Narukha didn't answer right away. He was actually surprised. Carl's way of speaking sounded unconvincing.

"You just let them die. Do you have a way in your mind to save the people in the evacuation?" Narukha quipped for the umpteenth time.

"Why can't you talk casually with me?"

"The faces of people like you make me sick," Narukha replied curtly.

"I mean it," Carl paused, "you said your goal was to save them, that's why you came here."

"Yeah, before I realized that you guys are having fun over the lives of the dead. If you really want to kill me now, then do it. This chair is an execution chair for human experiments, right?"

Instead of giving up, Carl stared at the screen more intensely.

"Narukha, this attitude of yours can irritate me after a while. I'm giving you a chance, do you want to save the people in the evacuation or not?"

Carl's tone that changed to sound serious made Narukha silent. Their eyes cast serious glances at each other through the system screen.

"I have only one way if you want to change everything. The choice is yours, Narukha. It's up to you to believe me or not."

Over time, suddenly Narukha's heart was filled with doubt. In his heart, there was curiosity as well as a feeling of wanting to refuse.

"What?" Narukha asked, finally.

Carl immediately smiled full of twinkle. After straightening his body position again, Carl let out a slow breath.

"I will give you a chance to become a System Warrior Troop. But you have to go through training after practice and pass level after level like a game."

Narukha was stunned. Did he hear right? He got an offer to become a System Warrior Troop?!
