First battle

We spent three days walking in the open, enduring the heat during the day and the cold at night. They were perhaps the worst moments of my life. The food was a bit disgusting, very tasteless and simple. They gave us a somewhat dry and poorly preserved bread, because of the temperature in which we had to walk. It was prepared simply for us to eat and that was it. They didn't care if we liked the food or not, and they didn't handle the food well, so several soldiers got sick and walked with difficulty for a good part of the trip.

I tried to eat that, and avoid thinking about what I was ingesting. I felt dizzy many times, but there was nothing to eat, so I had to get used to it.
