“First off” Bianca began, “Alex loves his coffee”

“Yeah I know that” he answered, “I hate coffee but I will have to adapt to that lifestyle because of him” he almost rolled his eyes.

“Good and Alex is color blind”

“What?” He almost shut out of bed, “they didn’t mention it on the blogs”

Bianca had to laugh at his nativity, “because only two persons know and that is me and Clarrisa. Alex was involved in an accident when he was fifteen, he lost his parents and due to the over flow of blood that day, his brain used that as a defense mechanism for him and up till now he can’t identify color aside white and black” Bianca paused for a while and continued again, “he wears contact lenses though that helps him with that, i mean have you checked everything connected to him? It doesn’t have any other color aside black and white”

Then it dawned on him, shs was right. Everything in his room was either black or white and even the decors of the house down to his offices and cars. Wow!!!

“See, first thing to be Alexander chase is for you to be observant Jayden”

“Sure” he scribbled it down in his diary, “what else do I need to know?”

“Alex is a sharp shooter”

“Fuck, i don’t even know how to do that”

Bianca rolled her eyes, “i will teach you that, don’t worry”

“Okay, what else?”

“Well for now let’s stick with all these, Rome wasn’t built in a day you see”

They were still talking when the door pushed open and Esmeralda entered, behind her was a maid pushing a trolley of food and immediately her eyes came in contact with the man’s upper bare body, she blushed.

“I see you guys are busy so I brought breakfast”

“Thank you, meralda” Bianca said sincerely but alex didn’t say a word while looking at the trolley, he wasn’t particularly impressed with the food.

“It seems the young master is not impressed with the food?”

“I don’t eat meat, Esmeralda” he said more in an unconscious tone until Bianca prodded him and he jolted, “what I meant to say was I am just in need of soup right now, not all this”

“Very well sir, I will have a bowl of soup sent to your room”

After talking, the old lady glanced at him for a moment before stepping out of the room while Bianca furrowed her brows.

“Alex loves his meat”

“But technically I am not him”

“You are him and you will do as he does”

“Seafood makes me sick,” he whined.

“Are you a nerd, Jayden?”

He gulped and shrugged, “you could say that”

“To be Alex, you need to break that chain okay?” She held onto his shoulders, “because I want you gone and my best friend back”

“Sure” Alex nodded, not like anyone would give a damn about a fifteen year old boy.

Bianca who noticed his countenance suddenly felt bad for saying what she said so she began to talk again,

“I understand how you feel Jayden and that’s how I feel too, I also want my friend back just like you want justice for the death of your family okay?”

“Hmmmm” he nodded and turned his attention to the note he was holding.

“Anyways have breakfast kiddo, lessons start in an hour”

“What about your daughter though? You said something about her the last time”

“She is okay” Bianca answered with a smile, he didn’t press further. It looked like he didn’t wanna talk.

After breakfast, they both went to his personal shooting area and everything was already arranged and truthfully Alex was impressed by the real Alex’s performance. He got the bull’s eye all the time.

“That’s how talented you are” Bianca’s voice filters into his ears.

“Does Clarrisa or her father know that I do this?”

“Of course” the lady rolled her eyes, “you guys met at a shooting competition. It was organized by your company actually and she participated, well she didn’t get the bullseye but she was the best so that’s how you became acquaintances”

“I see”Alex was truly amazed, he sure did have a lot to learn.

“I have already spoken with Aiden, he will come over later with the contact lense” Bianca continued talking while filling the gun with bullets, “i know you are not color blind but you still need them to create a perfect alibi”

“Thank you so much”

“You are welcome, kiddo. Now let’s get back to shooting”

With each passing minute, Alex was finding it difficult to get the bullseye. He wanted to become Alexander chase at all cost but what he was forgetting was that a journey of a thousand miles starts with a step.

“Easy Alex, don’t force it” Bianca advised and he nodded.

The two were engrossed in what they were doing and they didn’t see Clarrisa coming, it was until she touched Alex’s shoulder did he stop and frown.

“Oh, your bitch is here” Bianca snickered and rolled her eyes.

“You didn’t tell me you were coming”

Clarrisa rolled her eyes too, “if you actually picked up your phone then you would have known that I was coming but here you are, spending time with your so-called best friend again” she hissed angrily.

The two women didn’t like each other and they didn’t pretend about it especially Bianca who couldn’t hide her loathing for the gir after finding out what her father did.

“Hey Alex, I will have a word with Esmeralda about your diet”

“Now you will also invade his diet?” Clarrisa felt wronged, how the hell did she have so much leverage over Alex’s life but she was even struggling to be his fiancée.

“Can we not do this right now?” Alex whispered to her.

“Oh hell we are doing it” Clarrisa half yelled, “why are you so free with her but not with me? She is married and we are getting married Alex, all your attention should be on me and not her”

At that moment, he felt like giving her a right slap across the face. How dare she talk to him like that? Was she tired of living? He may not be the real Alexander chase but he was also Alexander chase and Alex was a no nonsense man.

“Toodles” Bianca waved at them before leaving while Clarrisa went to stand directly in front of him.

Alex ignored her and continued to load his gun which made her more furious than she was.

Out of anger, she grabbed the gun from his hand and smashed it on the ground, an action she immediately regretted.

“What the hell?” The man bellowed.

Clarrisa gulped, “I am sorry Alex, I…..” her voice trailed off. Now in her moment of anger, she succeeded in getting him angry and Alex’s anger was too bad.

“I was just frustrated….”

He interrupted her with a wave of his hand, “why are you here?” Alex was already getting irritated with her presence. Everything about her spoke about Gerald and he hated it, he hated the whole lot of them.

“I came to see you, I mean we haven’t spoken since I gave you the account book”

He picked up another gun and began to load it, his whole attention was on the gun. Clarrisa didn’t know wether to laugh or cry, this man was ignoring her whole existence at the moment.

“As you can see, I am fine” Alex answered after a while before aiming, “you can leave now” he added and let go of the trigger.

Clarrisa was visibly frustrated, she felt like giving him a slap across the face then he could see how much he was hurting her.

“Did I do something wrong?” She had to ask and he scoffed.

“Did you?

“What the hell?” Clarrisa threw her hands in the air.

“Don’t you want to get married again?”

Part of him wanted to scream yes and get everything

over with but he couldn’t. She was a big part of his plan and he couldn’t mess up even if he wanted to.

Alex finally dropped his gun and faced her, his hands crossed over his chest.

“Look Clarissa, a lot has been going on lately and I can’t seem to be able to comprehend anything. I just need you to be a little more understanding okay? I got engaged to you right? So I will get married to you, just don’t stress me about it”

The lady sighed and lowered herself on one of the cane chairs around, Alex had never spoken to her in such a calm tone before and now he was doing it. Maybe it was a good sign.

“I am sorry for flaring up like that”

“I will just head in to take a shower”

Without waiting for her response, he made his way into the house leaving Clarrisa all by herself.

“I can’t even get mad at him” she muttered to herself while watching his retreating figure.

The moment Alex entered his room, he dropped on his bed in anger. He wanted to hold her by the neck and squeeze the life out of her body, he hated her just like how he hated Gerald.

“Patience Alex” Bianca’s voice filtered into his ears and he had to close his eyes to steady himself.
