A Bump and A Call

“It’s you, isn’t it? Lilian’s friend?” Adonis was so excited to see her, how the universe just brought her back into his life was so satisfying.

Now he was glad he decided to heed Riley’s invitation, if he hadn’t he wouldn’t have bumped into the woman he had plans for. He’d been thinking how he’d get her number from Lilian without her being suspicious but here she is, served on a platter.

Laurel was still scurrying around picking up the papers that had fallen when she bumped into Adonis when she heard the voice, she wasn’t looking where she was going either so she had no idea who she bumped into, but now she did. It was Adonis, Lilian’s fiancée. Even though she had only heard that voice once, she recognized it.

What the heck was he doing here? She asked herself in her mind.

“Yeah, it’s me. I’m really sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going,” she apologised, arranging the papers on her arms and then tucking her hair behind her ear.
