Chapter sixteen

Kain's P.O.V

I got to school on the bus, I wore a sullen look. I greeted the teachers with a frown, and even forgot to say hi to my girlfriend.

"Are you okay?" Sally was my best friend and my girlfriend. And she was the only one who dared to get close to me on days when I wasn't in the mood to talk.

"I'm fine." Before I looked up, I was encompassed by the beautiful smell of rose perfume she had smeared on her clothing. She was dressed in the orange dress I got her for valentine, and she still had the necklace I put around her neck.

"No, you are not! Baby, I want to know what is going on, Kain." She sat next to me and held my hands with hers. "What is going on?" Her eyes were getting watery, and her voice shook. I knew I had to speak or compound my problems. If I dared not to open up to Sally about anything, she would be moody for days, if not weeks.
