Stacey brought a mixture of milk and honey, slowly pouring it into Philip’s mouth. He struggled, choking on the sweet liquid, but they forced him to swallow it. His stomach churned with the mixture, and soon it dripped from his mouth, coating his body in a sticky mess.

The honey attracted flies, beetles, and other insects from the forest, which began to crawl across his skin. They clustered at his mouth, eyes, and nose, eager for the sugary coating on his body.

---

Hours passed, and the real torment began.

Philip groaned, his body bloated from the milk and honey mixture, his bowels betraying him. He was left to lie in his own filth, unable to move. The stench of excrement mixed with the honey, attracting even more insects. Flies and maggots burrowed into his flesh, feeding on his decaying skin.

As the hours stretched into days, the insects began to crawl into his eyes, nostrils, and ears. Philip screamed in agony, but no one came to help. His cries only served to attract more scavenge

Bruce let out a long sigh when he heard that Adam had won the bid for the Divine Code. His expression was complicated—part regret, part helplessness—but the deal was already done. No matter what he thought, there was nothing more to say. After a brief silence, Adam spoke, his tone calm but respectful.“Mr. Sanders, I need to refine some pills. May I borrow your secret cultivation room?”Bruce looked at him in mild surprise before nodding without hesitation. “Of course. Use it as you see fit.”Leah and Harvey exchanged looks of disbelief. That secret room was Bruce’s private sanctuary, a place even his own children were rarely allowed to enter. Yet Adam had been granted access without a second thought.“Thank you, Mr. Sanders,” Adam said sincerely. Not long after, Adam returned to the hotel and gathered a large bundle of medicinal herbs. Each stalk, root, and leaf had been carefully selected—high-grade materials meant only for serious pill refinement. The century-old dragon root was th

  • Chapter 611

After years of painstaking study, not a single person on Cosmic Island had managed to decipher the Divine Code. Generation after generation of experts—grandmasters, scholars, alchemists, and even reclusive geniuses—had exhausted every method they could think of. In the end, all they gained was frustration.Slowly, doubt began to creep in.Was the rumor exaggerated?Did the Divine Code truly contain any secret at all? Some even dared to speculate that the so-called “supreme treasure” was nothing more than an ancient relic wrapped in layers of myth. That doubt was precisely why the Four Great Immortal Sects ultimately agreed to auction it. To them, an undecipherable script was no longer a treasure—just a burden.Unfortunately for Leah, Adam had just spent more than ten billion dollars on that burden. The moment the auction ended, whispers filled the hall.“So that’s Leah Sanders’ fiancé? He’s rich, sure, but clearly not very bright.”“Ten billion for a useless script? What a fool.”“Mon

Dante instantly broke out in a cold sweat.“Mr. Manchester, you can’t counterbid anymore,” he whispered urgently, his voice trembling. “I’m almost certain the bidder in Lounge No. 1 is from the Sultan family. If you offend them, the consequences will be unimaginable.”Ese nodded anxiously, his face pale. “Dad is right. You may have the Sanders family backing you, but the Sultan family is on nearly equal footing with them. Cosmo Island has always been isolated from the outside world—unless you plan to stay here forever, it’s best not to provoke the Sultans.”Adam heard every word clearly. He understood the risks better than anyone. The Sultan family was a colossal force, standing just beneath the Four Great Immortal Sects. Even the Supreme Nexus he had founded was insignificant compared to such a behemoth. But this wasn’t about pride or impulse. The Divine Code was something he needed. Not wanted—needed.Without it, his cultivation path would stall completely. With it, he might break t

  • Chapter 609

Dante and Ese could only stare at Adam in disbelief.Neither of them had expected him to step into the bidding war so abruptly—much less challenge Lounge No. 1 head-on. The calm, composed man they knew suddenly looked like someone ready to burn entire fortunes without hesitation.Whispers erupted around them almost instantly.“That guy… he’s insanely rich.”“No wonder the Sanders family chose him as their son-in-law.”“Still, what a waste. The Divine Code is useless if you can’t decode it,” someone sneered bitterly. “Spending billions on a dead script? That’s the behavior of a reckless spendthrift.”Others nodded, though the jealousy in their eyes was impossible to hide. After all, it was easy to criticize when they couldn’t afford to participate. Before Leah could even announce Adam’s bid properly, a cold voice rang out from Lounge No. 1.“Seven billion dollars.”The counter came sharp and decisive, crushing any illusion that Adam’s challenge would go unanswered.Without the slightes

  • Chapter 608

The moment Leah announced the starting price, a wave of stunned silence washed over the auction hall. One billion dollars. It wasn’t just a number—it was a wall.A wall so high it instantly crushed the hopes of nearly ninety-five percent of the attendees. Faces stiffened. Some people laughed bitterly. Others sank back into their seats, knowing this battlefield was never meant for them.Only a handful remained upright in spirit. And they wasted no time.“One point one billion dollars!”“One point five billion!”“One point eight billion!”The bids came fast and merciless, each one slamming into the room like a hammer. Gasps rippled through the crowd. To most people present, these figures were incomprehensible—lifetimes stacked atop lifetimes, fortunes that could buy nations tossed out in seconds.Yet the bidders spoke as if they were discussing pocket change.Just as the momentum seemed ready to spiral further—“Five billion dollars.”The voice wasn’t loud. It didn’t need to be.It carr

  • Chapter 607

“What?!”“Is it really the Divine Code?!”“That’s impossible!”The moment those words rang out, the auction hall exploded into chaos. Shock rippled through the crowd like a violent tide, voices crashing over one another as disbelief turned rapidly into naked greed. Eyes widened. Breathing quickened. Even seasoned tycoons who had seen countless treasures felt their throats go dry.Almost everyone had heard rumors of the Divine Code. Those who hadn’t were immediately dragged into whispered explanations—urgent, excited, half-mad descriptions spilling from mouth to ear. They said the Divine Code contained power beyond comprehension. Some legends claimed it held the origin of cultivation itself. Others went even further, insisting that whoever truly mastered it could rewrite the laws of the world and stand above all living beings.True or not, one thing was universally agreed upon—The Divine Code was the most valuable treasure in existence.Greed burned openly now.“Ms. Sanders, are you s
