Chapter Twenty-Five

As they faced each other, Mr. Alcantara flashed a smile while the waitress served them delicious delicacies and costly wines. The purpose of the outdoor meeting and the reason for treating him to a good meal was still unclear to him. He had yet to receive any hint from Mr. Alcantara.

“I will be straight to the point.” Mr. Alcantara broke the nerve-breaking silence.

“As always.” He smirked.

“Melanie told me everything.” Mr. Alcantara spilled bluntly. One thing Jamal admired about his boss was his straightforwardness, honesty, and boldness. He swallowed hard, already thinking about how to reason to him that wouldn’t hurt him because he didn’t think it was right to love Melanie.

“How she confessed to you and you denied access.” Mr. Alcantara teased him, using the engineering terms and he smirked.

“I’m sorry if I offended you, sir.” He said.

“It’s alright, boy. I really like you for how smart and talented you are. Of course, you are a big gain to me, so I don’t joke with you.” Mr. Alcanta
