Brad was a bit shocked. He didn't remember seeing the man before and wondered what could have happened.
The man in the suit moved aside with a curt bow and gestured towards the luxurious car.
"Who is he? And why is he speaking with Brad?"
"Does he know him? But how?"
"How can a poor guy like Brad know this rich and handsome man?"
Comments came flying from around Brad. Even his friends were shocked to their bone marrow.
Brad followed the man to the car, with eyes still staring right behind them.
"Who are you?"
"I'm sorry, boss, for not giving you the respect that you deserve," he apologised with a short bow.
Brad didn't miss the fact that the man had referred to him as 'Boss'. So, he was definitely someone that knew him very well.
"You are still yet to answer my question. Who are you?"
"I'm Pete and I'm taking you to meet your assistant. She's already waiting for you in the restaurant," he explained.
Soon enough, the car pulled into one of the popular restaurants in town.
Arctic Circle Restaurant was just like the outback steakhouse in terms that it was only rich people that patronised it. That aside, it was strictly by booking.
Pete got out of the car quickly and opened the door for Brad.
Brad hesitated, still a bit confused. He has an assistant?
Nevertheless, he got out of the car and followed Pete inside the Restaurant.
A man stopped them at the entrance but Pete stretched out something to him and he let them enter.
They walked towards a table where a slender, yet attractive woman was. She had long black hair and she was dressed in very expensive clothes.
When Brad was near enough, she stood up and made a short bow.
And Brad saw that she was very curvy.
"Nice to meet you in person, Mr. Harrier," she said with a smile and looked at Pete. "Get Mr Harrier something to chew on."
Pete made a short bow and walked away.
She turned to look at Brad again. "I'm Ava, your assistant," she introduced.
Brad raised skeptical brows at her. "What assistant?"
Ava saw the confusion that mirrored his face. "Please, sit sir and I will explain everything to you," she assured.
Brad nodded once and sat.
Ava sat as well. She dipped her hand into her bag and pulled out a sheet of paper. She stretched it out to Brad.
"Here's the company that I have been managing on your behalf, Mr Harrier."
Brad took the sheet and perused it.
"StreamRoll?" Brad muttered aloud.
StreamRoll was a live-streaming platform that has recently become popular among students in Brad's school as well as other universities.
Ava nodded once, with a smile. "You own StreamRoll, Mr Harrier," she affirmed
Brad couldn't believe his ears. Then, realisation dawned on him. "Wait? Have you been crediting my account?
Ava nodded once. "Yes, boss. We have been crediting your account for three years now. Though, StreamRoll isn't the only thing you own. The necessary information is on that sheet," she explained.
Brad looked down at the sheet again, and this time, he assessed it fully.
He has two companies which include StreamRoll and Fast-tech which initially belonged to his father.
Brad released an exasperated sigh and looked up at Ava. "Does this mean that my father is giving me full control of Fast-tech?"
Ava nodded once. "Yes, boss. This means that Fast-tech and StreamRoll are now yours," she affirmed.
This was the reason why he had so much money and assets to his name.
"Your father, Mr Harrier has made you the heir and so, everything is now yours. Also, some well-known people in the city would like to meet you. Everyone wants to know who the heir of Fast-tech is. So, a welcome party will be hosted," she explained.
Brad released a sigh. Everything was moving so fast.
At this time, Pete returned with the waiter carrying a lot of side dishes.
Pete bowed slightly. "I'm unable to decide which wine you would like, sir."
"Just give us one of your most expensive wines?" Ava said before Brad would say anything.
The waiter bowed slightly before he walked away while Pete adjusted and stood right behind Brad.
"If there is anything you want me to do, sir, I will gladly do it. I'm yours to control."
Brad looked at Ava for a moment. A beautiful lady was his assistant.
"So, you've been operating StreamRoll alone?"
"Yes boss but it's time for you to take over. Oh, lest I forget," she smiled and delved into her bag again. She brought out a necklace. "I got this David Webb for you at Miller May yesterday. It looks like the last of its kind. It's my first gift to you, sir."
Brad stared down at the chain that he desperately worked for several days back so he could afford it for his girlfriend's birthday.
Though Brad doesn't feel it's useful anymore, he decides to accept it because of Ava's pure intention.
"Thank you, Ava."
Ava smiled, showing a set of white teeth. "We should discuss the welcome party instead."
Brad nodded once. "I will get back to you later concerning it. How about that?"
Ava nodded once. "You should have your lunch so I can drive you back to school."
Brad shook his head briefly. "Don't you worry? I will find my way out," he muttered and dived into the food.
The meal tasted nice and Brad could have sworn that he had never tasted something so delicious since his seven years as a poor guy.
"Also, I got this for you," Ava said suddenly, cutting into Brad's thoughts. She pulled out the latest iPhone and placed it beside Brad. "My contact is there In case you need to call me. Besides, we also need to meet again to discuss the welcome party. This phone should be your official one," she explained.
When Brad left the restaurant, it was getting very late. He was full already, so he went straight to his dorm.
"Brad!" Kevin yelled suddenly, just as he stepped inside. He hurried to him. "Where have you been?"
"We thought something bad had happened to you. We've been trying your number but it wasn't available," David complained.
Brad released a sigh. "My phone has a flat battery. I'm sorry for disturbing you."
David nodded once. "But what happened? Why did that man come to get you? How did you know him?"
Brad hesitated, he didn't want to tell them the truth just yet, even though they had been good friends to him since his freshman year.
Well, he had yet to process how he wanted everything to be. When he was done, he would decide how to do everything.
"I won the lottery," he announced, with a smile.
"Seriously?" Kevin's eyes widened in surprise.
Brad nodded with a smile.
The men jubilated!
"Really! I'm so happy for you! Who would have thought? So, that was why the man came to get you in such a luxurious car?"
Brad nodded briefly. "Have you had dinner? We could go grab something for you to eat, even though I've eaten."
Kevin and Daniel smiled, feeling satisfied.
"Yes, let's do that!"
"Brad! Get the fuck out here!" A voice yelled suddenly, in anger.
They all turned towards the door.
Who could that be?
Kevin released a sigh. "The students have been waiting for you. They all thought you ran away."
"Yes, they want you to go to the outback steakhouse because of what Mick said. What will you do?"
The three friends stepped out of their room. Indeed, there were a large number of students waiting for them. "You know that you can't really force him to go to the Outback Steakhouse," David muttered. "Shut up!" One of the female students, Bertha, shushed him. "It's not like you can treat all of us to dinner! Mick made it clear that he can only buy dinner for us if you come to Steakhouse. Why are you so stubborn, Brad?" Kevin moved close to Brad, in fear. "I think you should follow them. They will make life unbearable for us if we decide to stay." Well, Brad had nothing to lose. He nodded once. "Alright, I will come with you." "Better!" Bertha said arrogantly and turned to the rest of the students. "Brad has agreed to follow us. So, we should all meet at the outback steakhouse." "Yes!" The students jubilated, excited at the meal they were going to have at Steakhouse. They turned away and left one after the other except for Bertha. Kevin regarded her for a moment with surprise
“What did you just do?” Mick asked, half yelling. He couldn’t believe what had happened. He stared with eyes gone gobsmacked, at the shattered David Webb.David Webb is a necklace made of diamond stone. As a result, dropping the necklace wouldn’t make it shatter. Diamonds can only break when excess pressure is being applied."See, it's fake or why else would it break? A real diamond doesn’t shatter like that."Hot anger surged through Mick. "What do you think you just do?" Linda asked in terror. Even though, she couldn’t help but find it weird that David Webb would break so easily. But she was still going to take Mick’s side.Truly, it was fake but Mick was astonished at the fact that Brad could figure it out. When he got to Miller May, there was a buyer for David Webb already. The manager, after so much thought, concluded to sell the necklace to any buyer who could pay the highest amount for it.The buyer was no other than Ava, a representative of StreamRoll, a very popular streaming
“I said it! There was no way!” Mercury laughed. “He must have stolen the card. He’s not worth all these waits.”“Yes, he’s obviously just in pain. There’s no way he can afford such an amount of money. His salary at the hotel is just 2000 dollars. How then can he afford 50,000 dollars,” Linda snickered.Brad was shocked. He turned to the waiter. “How is that possible? You have to try it again! Or maybe your machine is broken.”At least, he got the card earlier that day. Why would it be invalid? The waiter pulled out the card and inserted it again. He stretched it out to Brad again. Yet again, the card beeped and the waiter looked up at Brad. “It’s invalid,” He announced again.“Brad was bragging. Do you seriously think he can afford it?” Bertha mocked.“Then he needs to apologise to Mick. He’s not his mate!” Mercury muttered.“I support that. In fact, it has to apologise to every student present here,” Linda added. Bertha nodded once. “And call me godmother.”“No, I can’t accept that
Mick stepped out of Outback Steakhouse a few minutes after Brad and his friends left. He had no zeal to continue the party anymore. "Mick!" Linda hurried after him.Even Though Brad spent 50k dollars, Linda still couldn't accept the fact that he was richer. After all, it was Mick that got her the latest iPhone. He had never felt so embarrassed in his entire life and even though he had promised to make Brad pay, he was yet to decide what to do with him. That aside, he knew that he still had to secure his position as the richest guy on campus because of what Brad had done."Are you alright?" Linda asked. The students scurried out of Outback Steakhouse just as Mick opened his mouth to reply to Linda.“You have to do something!” a deep voice yelled, suddenly diverting attention to him. “Do you even know the worth of money in that Supreme card? You know what? I demand to see the manager this instant,” the man fumed. The waiter bowed slightly. “I will do that sir,” he muttered and hurried
Brad was shocked. Just like that?"You will be attended to now, boss," Ava assured and the phone went off.Brad went back to Kevin and David. "Brad, he's unconscious. Is he going to die?" He whimpered.Brad shook his head briefly. "He won't, I promise.""Then why is no one attending to him!" He half-yelled, frustrated. The receptionist moved towards them. She had a cold expression on. "You are disturbing the peace of the patients in the hospital. If you can't keep mute, you should leave.""We can't leave!" David fired back. "It's your duty to attend to him!"The receptionist got even more annoyed. "Leave this instant or I call the security guards to drive you out," she threatened."We are not leaving and that's it! You have to attend to my friend! Nothing must happen to him!" David yelled out.The receptionist scoffed. "Seriously? Then we will see who owns the power," she boasted."And what the heck is going on here?" A deep baritone voice yelled suddenly. They all whirled around to
"What? What are you talking about?" Brad was shocked and confused. The fact that his father headed a mob group wasn't enough but it was his turn to take over.Jude cleared his throat meaningfully. "I will excuse you to talk more," he muttered and didn't wait for a reply before he walked out of the room.Ava looked at Jude until he was out of the room before she turned to look at Brad again. "When your friend was shot, did you notice anything? The car or the people?"Brad nodded once, remembering what he saw. "The number plate had 'Ghost' on it."Ava's eyes went wide with shock. "Shit! I knew it!" She cursed softly.Brad stared at her blindly."We received a piece of news that you were dead. That you were killed by the Ghost," she explained.Brad hesitated as he took the information in. He regarded Ava for another moment as if he couldn't believe it. "What you mean to say is that I was supposed to die? That bullet was meant for me?"Ava nodded slowly."Fuck!" Brad turned away. His min
Mick enjoyed the rest of the night because he knew that his plan to disgrace Brad was instant. The man gave him his business card and Mick was supposed to call him early in the morning so he could take his guardians to Brad's dorm. Mick didn't know who the man really was but he guessed that he was definitely a foreigner with money and power. And he wasn't even worried about who Brad could be. That's it! Brad wouldn't get off so easily. Brad had called early that morning and in fact, gave them some guidelines for getting to the male dormitory. But he had to hurry and make sure the whole thing happened in his presence so that he could gloat about it. That aside, he planned to take some videos and spread them on students' apps, especially the StreamRoll app which is popular among students. When he got to Brad’s dormitory, the men were standing outside already as well as a few of the students that wondered what the whole thing was all about. One of the men, that looked and acted as
Several men advanced towards Brad very fast and they ripped the hands of the men holding onto him off.Brad stared, shocked. He had no idea what was happening. It looked like everyone recognized him wherever he went."Maxwell," Sam muttered with fear.Maxwell turned to one of the men dressed in a tuxedo. The man brought out five bundles of notes and Maxwell threw it over at his men. They perched at it.Maxwell turned to Sam and slapped him hard on his face. "What the fuck are you doing? Harassing students? Are these boys not supposed to be in school?" He yelled. With the vein visible in his neck, one would be certain that he was angry."I_," Sam started but the words became stuck in his throat. Maxwell had never been so angry at him and it bothered him.Besides, who was Brad that he was protecting? As far as he was concerned, Maxwell didn't bother himself with Sam's matter. He had never done it.Maxwell took the supreme card from Sam and moved towards Brad and David. He hesitated brie
