Chapter 12

There was a sense of awkwardness as Eddie replaced his phone in his pocket and shifted his gaze to Sophia.

The anger that had flooded through his blood earlier met with a sudden calm.

"So you were saying something?" Eddie said.

Sophia moved closer towards him, but before she could get to say anything, his ears picked up a really strange vibration.

He waved his hands, pushing her to a forced stop as he listened closer.

The sense of the vibration oozed through his legs and the beeping sound seemed to increase.

"Can you hear that?" He inquired. But no matter how much Sophia listened, she could not pick out any sound and she shook her head.

Eddie drew a really deep sigh. "How worthless for me to have asked in the first place." He thought.

Eddie decided to trace the direction of this strange sound and it drew him closer and closer towards the car.

His face lit up at the discovery of what it was. A ticking time bomb had been placed on her car.
