The rich girl doesn’t even want to get involved now and proceeds to gazed at Antonio despite the sudden behavior of her father. Olivia had her common sense now; her father who’s about to slap her but it didn't happen since they wanted to get away from the hall and leave as if nothing happened. No one even wondered that the rich girl's father would do that to her daughter. Antonio doesnt gawk even further since he knows that Olivia will follow her father’s command.
They will feel sorry, Antonio thought.
Everyone is looking since they knew, yes even the personal assistant of the rich girl’s father knows who I am and they would pretend I am just a normal university kid who is supposed to be kicked out.
Suddenly, the rich girl interrupted the conversation of his father and one of Antonio’s personal assistants. They are outside of the university premises and they vouch not to cause another scene. The rich girl’s father didn’t even see how her daughter tried to make amends to Antonio.
“I ardently laid my pride on these amends, and I hope you will not make it to the grave,” the rich girl apologetically said to Antonio when she have the chance
“I didn’t mean to dishonor you but are you making an apology?” Antonio sincerely asked the rich girl “to me?”
“You can’t make it to the class today, Mr. Antonio. The principal told Mr. Fanelli about their sudden schedule and they want you to excuse yourself in the class. No worries since the professor is being told,” One of the assistants stated and abruptly left since he noticed that Antonio and Olivia were talking.
“After this, I can’t make rumors about you on campus. You can leave your life, peacefully,” Olivia insisted her words and half-assed apology
“You expect the people in the campus would forget about this fiasco? Of course, they wouldn’t,” Antonio sneered at Olivia and tried to knock out some reality onto her. That is not easily forgotten, rumors will always be rumors.
“You were just a mere student, why would it bother you?” the rich girl asked but still continue to keep her mouth open “Please let’s make things clear,”
“Oh, you still believe that I’m a poor student in our university? Should I feel sorry about it?” Antonio said, looking at Olivia, as if her words are funny.
On the other hand, Antonio doesn’t want to talk to the rich girl since one of the personal assistants of Mr. Fanelli talked to him, advising that he wouldn’t make it to class today since they are still on the verge of talking so as not to make it serious. The situation doesn’t need to blow up, but the capriciousness of the rich kids in the university made it happened; giving an inconvenience to those people who weren’t involved.
“Did I tell you to feel sorry about your situation where you can’t control? It’s your problem not mine,” Olivia continued, “Perhaps, I need to make myself clear since my father wanted me to do this. Please, let’s end this fiasco!”
“You need to shut your mouth first,” Antonio said. The last piece of Antonio.s patience is almost at the thin line. “Attention seeker,” he whispered.
“Shut up!” Olivia sneered, “You need to shut up first,”
After Olivia yelled, a loud smack was heard.
Olivia’s shoulders shivered, maybe because she didn’t even see that coming. Her brain is making wonders about how his father almost slapped him. Maybe, just a mere consideration, that she might cause trouble to Antonio, who seems like an important person to his father.
Olivia even thinks that he wouldn’t be rude to any of his father’s business partners. But she didn’t even know who Antonio's social background is.
For the last time, Olivia walked out and didn’t even look at his father out of embarrassment.
Antonio wanted to put it down, actually. The rich girl’s father confronted him about what he needed to do. Supposedly, Antonio doesn’t want to make it public but the people around him make it more noticeable.
“But you need to tell them who you are, kid!” the rich girl’s father said when his daughter was out of their sight.
“I don’t want to make it grandiose. I wanted to make it simple since being De Isqueirda is not that relevant,” Antonio said, as if he didn’t know that being in an elite circle is a privilege.
“Oh no, kid. It is relevant. You make a low comment about your social background, don’t you notice?” the rich girl’s father said, amused about how Antonio doesn’t want to make it big; a total difference from the rich kids he ever met.
All the rich kids wanted to be seen with their money and how they could have it the easiest and happiest way of things.
“Are you ashamed?”
“On what?”
“You; being the grandson of the old man?’ Mr. Fanelli questions Antonio.
“Oh, you must be mistaken. I’m not ashamed. I’m just being careful to inform people that I am in high status. In fact, I value the secrecy of my company and I want to make it that way,” Antonio replied to Mr. Fanelli.
“I might hear the biggest news, am I right?” Mr. Fanelli said while lighting up his cigarettes. But one of his personal assistants stopped him since it's forbidden to smoke in the premises.
“You should prepare your coffee when it comes,” Antonio said, suppressing his smirk. The rich girl’s father tapped his shoulders acknowledging his principles and values.
“I hope this situation won't change your mind,” Mr. Fanelli said, looking apologetically at Antonio. “I will be talking to one of my assistants about investing to the new project,”
Antonio just nodded since Mr. Fanelli suggested that he will bring money to the new project, which is Antonio's first project in the company as a CEO. Antonio thought about the project, it is just a plan, hiding in his computer as folders. But, Antonio wouldn’t take the bait after all. The rich girl is still meters away from him; gawking as if he’s the prey. Antonio just gazed at him emotionless.
“My daughter might apologize to you, Mr. Antonio,” he said, “I hope you will forgive her,”
“I don’t want to since she looks at me flirtatiously now she might already know I’m rich,” Antonio said, slightly scared about the sudden realization that Olivia might have changed her attitude. One of the reasons he wanted to make it lowkey since everyone might throw themselves at him is because he has plenty of money. Antonio doesn’t even splurge money, yet.
Mr. Fanelli roared in laughter. Antonio looked confused.
“Why? Don’t you find my daughter attractive?” Mr. Fanelli said, anticipating Antonio’s answers, as if he wanted to clarify an intuition.
“I don’t know. I didn’t look enough,” Antonio answered while shrugging his shoulders. As if Antonio wanted to drop the conversation since he doesn't want to talk about it. In fact, he doesn’t like Olivia.
Mr. Fanelli suppressed his smile and intently looked at Antonio and slightly looked at her daughter who’s talking to Dale Smith. Mr. Fanelli stride his way to Mister Vondale, the principal of the school.
“You should halt the meeting and the removal of Mr. Antonio,” Mr, Fanneli declared.
“We will talk about it later, Mr. Fanelli. The higher education is having a meeting tomorrow about the said issue. We will decide if the removal is approved or not,” The principal confidently answered Mr. Fanneli and the principal gazed sincerely at Antonio.
“I wouldn't be there for the meeting. I don’t want another phone call about this tomorrow. I want to make it done today.” Mr. Fanelli said, with a hint of annoyance.
“There were no removal? What do you mean, Mr. Fanelli?” Mr. Smith asked, dumbfounded with the sudden statements.
“You should stop this hatred, Mr. Smith. It isn’t about our ego to remove someone because he’s poor and ‘violent’” Mr. Fanelli said, emphasizing the word violent because the truth is it wasn’t true.
“We should, Mr. Fanelli,” Mr. Smith said and the principal was standing behind them; listening.
“We wouldn’t because Antonio needed to finish college. Their family is where I can get the funding,” Mr. Fanelli declared, stripping himself of the truth, not minding the impact of his words.
All of the people didn't believe him not until Mr. Smith asked since he was confused.
“What?”
“I am the one who funds for his college tuition so it is my discretion to make her educated and I want to make sure his into the best college,” Mr. Fanelli said, remembering that he shouldn’t spill more. “I want to leave now, since I have a lot of things to finished,”
After that, they settle with Mister Vondale stating that it might be halted since the two parties are having difficulties to come up with better claims. They will contact them if it is reasonable enough to remove Antonio in the school. Antonio went into the parking lot where he left his rented bicycle. Antonio saw Mr. Fanelli’s luxurious car leaves the school premises. Antonio sighed and he cycled his way to where his actual vehicle is, 10 minutes away from the school.
Mr. Fanelli left Antonio in the school’s premises. Without even formally bid him goodbye, their talk is enough for him and next week will be different. Olivia, on the other hand, is still following his father’s request; expecting to be grounded and left without cards on her wallet.
“You should treat Antonio as an elite. He isn’t not just a common boy, Olivia. It’s such a shame you already accused him of something he wasn’t,” Mr. Fanelli reminded Olivia, trying hard enough not to sneer at her only daughter.
“Really? Who is he, by the way, aside from the fact his name is Antonio,” Olivia said, rolling her eyes.
“Olivia, what are we in the social circle?” Mr Fanelli seriously asked his daughter about their social status.
“Rich,” Olivia plainly answered.
“What do you think Antonio is?”
“I don’t know, Father. You tell me,” Olivia said, while handing his hand to his father waiting for him to explain Antonio's background. If he won't, Olivia will jump into this moving vehicle.
“A mogul. A developer, way more richer than us, Olivia,” Mr. Fanelli said. “He’s the grandson of the great Mr. De Isqueirda,”
“The oldman?” Olivia even asked. Just to clarify that she isn’t deaf. But the loud silence confirmed a hidden yes. Olivia seems cautious about how she could make it up to his father and to Antonio.
Antonio already has its path of independence. Right after the chaos in his university, he decided to book a fancy restaurant away from the downtown; the dark nights twinkling with the light of hope and opportunity of getting drunk with life-- must be the truth he always wanted to have. The manager of the said pub guided him to the reserved table, prepared a rum and glasses of expensive finger bites. Antonio seated, crossed legs and gazing at the manager who seems anxious and waiting for his orders. Antonio thinks that the other employees in the said pub seem curious of sudden changes of their manager's personality. The manager spoke to him in a calm tone which Antonio seemed shocked. Antonio noticed that it sounded so scripted and he wanted to put an end to his blabbering mouth, but he can't because he don;t want to have a reputation of being rude to the manager, even to employees who are eyeing him with death glare, as if he can buy them. I mean, he can but he won't. “How does a d
Antonio doesn't need to know more about the drinking session he had last night. He woke up feeling thirsty and still on his clothes. No one in the house dared to touch him or even change his clothes to make him comfortable. Everyone thinks he's some sort of an individual who's off limits. He doesn't have a severe hang-over and he decided to strip off his clothes. He walks naked in his modern room, filled with black and white motifs. He even walked to his glass window near his toilet. Antonio examined himself there, standing and staring to his biceps, to his stomach and down to his center. For a minute, he stood there, reminiscing the conversation he had from that particular female staff member. Antonio thought about the female staff's name. But a part of him knew her name but he forgot. He showered all his thoughts, doubts and worries. Everyday is a constant battle of knowing what to do of his new lifestyle. One of his personal assistant rush in, and ask Antonio what he wanted to d
It's Saturday afternoon. Mostly during these hours, the pub will be empty, no one is ordering their fave cocktails in the bar, or mostly flirting with their female staff members. It's an unusual sight, the manager said. All of the people are circling a certain table, far away from the entrance. It’s near the jukebox and the comfort room door. They are standing, hands on their chin, whispering and gawking at two people sitting at the table with a chess board and a clock. The female staff wears glasses with her hair down, wearing his female staff outfit. Her opponent is a stranger, who seems like a pub reviewer from the local government unit where they can revoke your license to operate. They instantly played chess as if they bet their life on it. One of the onlookers explained the game to his children, who didn't even know the rules of the game. ‘I want to play like her, dad,’ the children excitedly told her father. The father nodded and said, ‘In a right time, darling,’ The childre
Antonio thought his mother married a dead man. But, it had a different meaning. His mother tried to hide her relationship to a black sheep, a man who's son of a multi-billionaire and tried to leave a life penniless. Antonio knew the story by now because his relatives went to his house a couple of hours ago. Antonio doesn't have the mood to entertain visitors; his own relatives which he didn't even meet. They even tell all the most absurd stories and gossip they ever have, even the personal assistants of Antonio seem uncomfortable with the situation. When the time comes for the fitting of his suit, they bid farewell. Antonio politely guided them in the exit doors. "See you, tomorrow." "The universe will guide you with wisdom and grace, Tonio," one of his relatives who wears a boho hat prayed to him over. "Thank you, Mrs. Oberian," Antonio said. They give him kisses on the cheeks and bid him farewell. They already established a good reputation on socialization in which Antonio is h
The take over, meeting and introduction went smoothly, everyone in the company clapped their hands, whispered and thought about the future endeavors of the newly appointed CEO and his team. Everyone flashes smiles, giving their congratulatory messages and doubtful gazes to Antonio. On the other hand, Antonio is still calm, collected and down-to-earth. He shakes everyone’s arms, brushes all the doubtful and arrogant gazes of other committees and employees, but he avoided being rude since he wanted their permission to let him do his own thing. It’s appropriate to actually pretend that he has all the things in life but the permission and the likeness of the committee is all he has minus the money and power. Antonio has a conversation with one of the company owners in The Tower. “What’s your plan? I heard from your grandfather that you’ll have it listed,” an old man with wrinkled face and tailored suit, with a respected aura said. “I tend to keep it that way, since publicizing the lis
All the designated staff in the company placed a 10-page file in the table. They even distributed a piece of banana, orange slices and cranberry juice to satisfy their well-being. Elyse ate the banana since she's hungry and nervous. The silence in the room is palpable and she senses a hierarchy in the people who are on the table. Normally, the meeting room will be lively and packed but today it's a private session of the new organization team chosen by Antonio and his grandfather. Needless to say, only three people over ten are already in the room. Suddenly, the door swung and it showed two mid-30's. Elyse, is the only person standing and greeted them. The other two politely nodded and gazing at Antonio. Elyse noticed that the other two people in front of her didn't even care. The woman extended her arm to Elyse, introducing herself. "Hello, I'm Bennet Houseffer," she said, and she spoke to her companion. "This is Carlyle Jones," Elyse both shakes their hands. Carlyle examined Ely
Antonio haven’t heard any single farewell from Elyse, Elizabeth and Mr. Sanrino. When he quickly went into the exit doors, he saw them talking in the hallway, as if halting Elyse to go home. They just stand there as if they are long time friends. The old man and his personal assistant went into the meeting hall and Antonio tore off his gaze to those three people he called them triumvirate. The old man, who’s everyone called him like that instead of De Isqueirda Senior. “I didn't have any opinion about the media’s incessant question about the newest CEO,” The old man said without even sitting on his seat. “For sure, you’ll do it later, grandpa,” Antonio said, confidently gazing at his grandfather who built this empire with his trusted executives. “As I promise I wouldn’t put your face on the tabloid,” his grandfather assured. Antonio nodded, agreeing to his father’s behavior. “The files aren’t retrieved, yet.” One of the production managers said. He intently looked at Antonio befo
Elyse has time to think about her decisions, and now when they encounter an ambush interview with the journalists is not on her bingo card. She is even scared of her life now; being involved in a largest group organization in La Paz. De Isqueirda is one of the prominent families and everyone is kissing their feet for success. But, she needed to shrug this off. Maybe, having a full meal at RGO Restaurant is the best way to ease her anxiety. Elizabeth hummed a song, the taxi driver blasted a Cliffs by Rosenfeld. Mr. Sanrino is typing on his phone. “It’s on the news,” Mr. Sanrino suddenly said when they were outside the RGO Center. Elyse paid the taxi driver and thanked him. “I’ll tell the executives about this.”“Let's just eat and I don’t want to talk about this!” Elizabeth said, dismissing the scenario they had earlier. Elyse already walked and guided them to the restaurant. Even Elyse noticed Elizabeth’s sour mood. Elyse also quit and didn’t want to talk about the incident. That’s
