Bayo yelped for joy!
In the few weeks he had lived in this world or this Orun, he had come to understand the thing that was about companionship and friendship. The thing was just that, friends and true family never left you.
And if by any chance they did, Fate often had a way of bringing you both together. It was the percept that had governed his life at the pack. The reason why he had loved the dogs so dearly.
Seeing Jaspar now was no different.
"Hey, unlucky special creature, I've missed you." Jaspar beamed, looking closely all over Bayo's form.
Bayo smiled internally. Usually, he'd have being so excited but then again, he had to remind himself that this Jaspar was a pervert so he had to be really really careful before Jaspar had his butt for business.
'I'd better move away.' Bayo said mentally as he snuggled away from Jaspar's observatory hug
Looking at Jaspar now, he felt safe. Aside from the looming fear that Jaspar m
The huge trees of Drago Capital Forest stood tall with huge trees spotting lusciously thick boughs and multicolored leaves as well as multicolored wild fruits, beautifying the horizon of the dusk sky and the thick scent of dew wet vegetation. The forest was the mine field of the Drakons as well as the field territory of the CFR with their pretext of reserving wild life whereas they were only concerned about the scanty dragon population that they kept watch on.In a pathway, spanning from the Forest Pillars, two lean, abnormally long figures at height of 7 feet, strolled into view. Upon closer observation, one could notice the obviously sharp tip of exposed fangs that curved out a little on their lower lips while their skin was a pale ghastly color of light brown, each of them wearing a sort of featureless dark robes that however highlighted their shapes. They were Adzes, commonly referred to as Vampires of light and Dusk was their activity time.
The Latent Stealth Dog raced wildly through the thick vegetation, ducking to avoid a large root and twisting to go around tree trunks. In short time, it clambered up the cliffs, racing to its cave with a furiously panting heart.'Yasmin, I still don't understand it. Who are those people? And what can I do to remove the mark imprint on me?' Earlier on, he had felt a tremendous wash of fear and darkness when he entered the forest. Just after when Yasmin informed him he had a fugitive mark in his soul, an imprint of an asterisk etched in his soul space, beside his soul.Just then, footsteps rapped closer on the rocky plains outside the cave. Panicking he thrust his frame outside in a flight of fight response.Bayo froze, seeing the lean figures in black gowns staring coldly at him with fang tips protruding from their upper lips. 'W-what?' Bayo stuttered mentally, eyes wide open as he groaned. Not that it was surprising but he hadn't expected the bite to take as much as 50 points of energy from him. His energy had dropped now from 745 to 695.And as it did, the Law of Gluttony rushed in to fill the spot, fueling the Principle of Affection to absorb energy. But unlike before, the energy trickled in units of 5, 7, 3...But it was enough.Little drops of water make a mighty ocean after all.Smiling inwardly, he infused energy into the Tailed heat conducting metal ball of spikes, drilling in 300energy points. It was half of his energy but heAscenders: Rising From Zero Battle To Survive Capture
'I do not recommend that! The Law of Love filled your soul to its current capability that your form can handle. Gluttony stretched it further. Using Gluttony once more at this time will only force your soul into expiration. Soul decline!' Yasmin warned.Just then, a heavy weight buckled into his side sending him spinning away. His energy dropped to 20 at the impact."I said, don't kill it. Deola call your wolf back." Tobia ordered as the wolf strolled leisurely to the smacked out body of Bayo that was lying haphazardly against the circular rock."He's knocked out!" The wolf rasped as the Deola moved closer.'Tske... eh... damn l.. you... I'm not.... knocked out yet...' Bayo strained within his mind. His soul had being bulging for the time past now, on the verge Of exploding. Using Gluttony once more would make sure the job was complete but again, his soul was already down t
Terilius And Mackrys, the beastkin investigators stood some few feet away from the Adzes. Terilius with his long mane of hair at his neck and his signature long black coat nodded to his partner, the bear-like humanoid in his signature loose leathery gown.In front of them was the cave, the vampires and their catch, the Latent Stealth Dog whimpering in severe pain, unconsciously.Earlier on, they had followed a lead provided by a certain Vela, on the permission of Lady Grant, who happened to be a wealthy merchant powerhouse in the Coalition. They had questioned it. Infact, his partner had doubly questioned it.What was this Vela's motive? How did she know? What did she really want?A thousand and one questions had being put to him by all who heard of the information provided. Even Lord Bello has asked and ended up seeking a meeting with the Serpentine lady. However, their search was productive. They
"Orb of Occurence?" Terilius gasped."That too, a high grade one at that?" Mackrys questioned as their eyes widened. Quickly, Terilius feet pounded across the land as he raced to Deola with thoughts of disarming them."Stay still... damn you." Deola groaned, Essence bleeding out from her lips. The Orb Of Occurence we're artifacts created by high classes Fate Experts That allowed the user tweak fate to some degree. However, the perk was that Fate rejected any changes to it. To over ride this, one would need induce so much Agbara to combat the resistance of Fate for the changes to be made. Also, if one needed to use Fate to reject a recent Occurence by rewinding time, everything needed to be still around the area of impact. If the slightest thing moved, it made it even difficult and tougher to focus on what needed to be rewound as time passed with each motion. The movement of Terilius was not helping the case."Tas..."
The sky was warm blue with scanty white clouds drifting here and there as they graced the heavens above the Playing Field. The field was mostly empty except for a gardener with his lawnmower trimming the grasses and a big and girl seating on a swing chair that was suspended by a rusty iron rod which in turn was supported by two even rustier vertical iron rods. Behind them was the concrete pavilion that stretched for over a hundred meters sporting visibly damaged books, shirts, pen cases and even shoes which obviously had been dropped by the students in the course of their activities. The boy on the swing had a crew cut on with white vest and Ash colored knickers while the girl wore a plait that was commonly referred to as 'All Back' in the locality. Her gown was a brown slick attire with flare at the end which was complimented by a black fluffy slippers and a black sling bag."Hey, Shade." The boy beamed sheepishly as he held her left hand cupped in his. "I actua
"You see Bayo, there's something you do not quite understand." Yasmin said, moving closer to the mental screen as he studied the stats displayed. The atmosphere hummed lowly of imminent explosion if care was not taken."Damn... you..." Bayo groaned straining under the weight of the restricting cords. He had always known that such a day would come but he didn't think it was soon. After all, his plan from the first day was get strong, strong enough and then, eject the ticking time bomb that was Yasmin. The idea of his soul becoming fuel to half a soul didn't make the cut for him.Alas, he was too late.Or was he?"Hmm... this combinations might be good enough buts still lacking. There are still bloodlines that can be infused into the Wolf." Yasmin said thoughtfully as he stroked his chin."What is it? What is it that I don't understand? How did you even do it? I thought you said you'd be able to take over when my will
Here, you saw the title, right? Of course, yes, they would return. You certainly have not seen the last of it. So, like what was done at the start of this volume, we had an author boss note where we discussed the charcters and whatnot. Remember i mentioned that I was nto goign to make bayo the entire focus of it? Well, he kind of became focus of it being that the whole novel is geared to his wellbeing. Lol. At the ending, we can see that he is paying the price in full for the warnings Yasmin issued to him. Dont ignore soul adaptation but what does Bayo know? And i certainly cannot blame him. He has a lot of pressure on him, forcing him to amke the most drastic measures to ensure he is not lagging behind. But reclal that Bayo did not tart life as the toher Ascenders. All the Ascenders started their Life at the soul class of Elite. Elite is from 1000pts and above. BUt Bayo began from Basic Class, with less than 20pt which wa
And Pain.. “AAAAAGAGHHHHHH!” The huntress yelled out as the chunk of earth ripped through her back, spearing its way through her entire body, all the way from the back to the front of her. “Now, you can burn!” Ronke said and then, with a smile, she stomped her feet on the deck of the ship, willing back all of the flames that she had been keeping at bay. All of it, towards the screaming form of the huntress even as the ship began to break and scatter into bits of matter down the mountain ranges below. “Now, now." Ronke said, smiling as she willed up a gust of wind to take her off the deck as the deck finally succumbed to the head and the destruction of the flames even after it provided a dying frame for the figure of the huntress earlier. And then, the hull of something already so familiar appeared, rising above the form of Ronke. It lowered itself, a figure, which was Hana standing at the foredeck with her hand extended waiting to take the hands of
A large spike of Earth tore through the front deck of the ship, ripping through the spot that Slyka had stood in only seconds away now. The moment it ripped through,a gigantic explosion of flames burst out in the lower deck now, the entire mass of the licked up in instant flames and heat, turning out to be a massive firework in the sky. Now.... Ronke panicked. The level of destruction that she had caused with her earth spike stalling was catastrophic. She had to keep a wall of oxygen deprived air about her to keep the flames from gathering around her or ve scathing her own skin. She was not insusceptible to fire, after all, despite being able to control fire though. She was worried. But then, the worry about the CFR was the least of her concerns. After all, in the battle scene, who had to worry about what happened to the enemy. The person who did do that was the one who was willing to get himself or herself at the losing end of the whole thing. But for h
The Hunter is a killing machine which is specifically designed for such missions of severity, they do not show emotions and have no need for that because for the missions which they are assigned for, they have to be through and effectively. Their blows need to count and so the hunters are given new identities and introduced to the quality demanding system of the CFR. WHich would mean that even their souls are inculcated and taught about the values of the Cfr. In Other Words, they live for the CFR. However, this option of being a Hunter or Huntress is always so optional and never is forced on those within or without the CFR organization. It is only for those who truly seek to unlock the next level that the Cfr holds the key to. Lest we digress, the hunter is a single entity of overwhelming force. Unless the Hunters are all occupied at the moment or the CFR wishes not to involve them, then the army of
In life, we often do not have the option of choice. I mean, there is always the matter of choice but most times we have to choose between a great evil, and a far greater evil. In times like that, our sense of being is completely eroded, vanished from sight as we try to make the best of what we have to do. Sure enough, there might be a choice, lurking somewhere down the alley but for the matter of time being, we are blinded to it. And thus, the inevitable is what we eventually have to come for. Our choices are forced by the circumstance of the present situation. Which in hindsight does not look like a choice rather. In thesis is life and his priorities to keep. So, then, knowing about the instability of battle, the question is put out to all of you here. When faced with the tightest of situations, what would you do to ensure you live? To ensure that your values are not completely wiped out. In this situation, we have a matter of doing what is b
‘Yeoowww’ Bayo could only scream out in his mind, mentally as his whole body went through a wreath of red hot flames. Still in the gust of the momentum of the jump from earlier, his body went on, traversing space as he crossed the distance which was between the two ships. His body was roasting and he flew tall of the what, all of his insides feeling like marshmallows now. And oh, how hot the fumes were. The mere scent of the smoke that was about was roasting his nose, smelting down all of his internal organs that dealt with smell and breathing. His body hairs kept on shrinking as they blazed, the entire mass of the Lightning Fist Chimp now reduced to a literal burning mass of meat. Panic surged through his body now as Bayo crashed down to the decking of the larger CFR ship. While he wanted to re
The feeling had been instantouse for Bayo. For him to switch into the form of an Adze all in a bit and then revert back to the form of a Familiar Prime had been all so super fast. It was something which he did not think he would have been able to achieve, without Yasmin with him. Yes, of course, he could just as easily switch his body form ,without Yasmin being involved but also, he had to consider the event of the last time. He had spoked Ronke and the rest up when he had suddenly switched into the form of a growing Familiar Prime, as a youngling. He would not want something of such to repeat itself again, especially since it was bound to be a really rough ride in a bit, being that the CFR pursuing ship had arrived. It would be best not to unsettle anyone so that they could focus on what was really necessary and pivotal to their staying in the air for longer.
Beside a thorough negotiation skill as one of the prerequisites for a good CFR agent, another thing is to be considered in the midst of the yet many factors about a CFR agent. While the others may be so desiring, we would stress here once again, that lethal force is not always so desired in the CFR. If there is need forreal lethal force, there is the outer Consort of the Drakonian Confederacy or even the Inner Consort of the Drakonian Confederacy Army. If need be for thorough lethal force, then the army would be duly notified. An in such case this is often out of the hand of the CFR, However, be it known that it does not undermine the quality of the Cfr. While there is this option, the CFR does have its availability of lethal force. The Guardian and her aides are entities that are capabal of hta, so unless situation has escalated more than the numerous well trained CFR agents, then, Leth
Earlier… GBA MMM! A loud bang exploded now and the ship suddenly rocked to the left violently. Bayo could only growl silently in pain as his head, in reaction to the sudan movement, bounced against the wooden bar just before his head, towards the left hand side of the bed. “What happened?” ROnke and Hana shouted almost immediately as they jolted out of the cabin, looks of questioning on their face towards the one at the cockpit. Shin. ‘Well…” Shin cried out to them, his head tilted upwards, looking at something which was beyond them. “We have company and they have real mood swings.” He said, tilting to the right with the steering wheel as he attempted to stabilise the ship now. ****
