Fifty Five

Aidan rambled on and on about his achievements and how much power he has. His classmates sang his praises to no small measure and that pleased him too. Jake on his own kept quiet and waited for Aidan to do as he has promised.

The days passed by uneventful and the D-day came for the opening of the boutique. Jake dressed smartly although his outfit worth only a few dollars. He had his driver take him to the venue. When they were a few metres away, Jake made sure the coast was clear before he alighted from the Lamborghini that brought him to the place. As he got to the place, he saw that most of his classmates were already seated and those who came in came in style. They wore rich clothes as no one wanted to be looked down on. Jake could swear that some of them had even gone to borrow money and cars just to look up to standard. He smiled at their stupidity.
