"Where... are you taking me?"

"Did you really think we would fucking beat you up next to the police station!?"

"..Right"

Kyle was now inside a car, with Bob in the driver's seat while two of his friends accompanied Kyle at the back. He initially thought they were just going to drag him into a dark alley like they usually do, but no.

They took him to a parking lot and pushed him inside a car. They have been driving around the city for almost an hour now-were they trying to find a spot to finally get rid of him?

He wanted to test his abilities so he willingly let himself be dragged away.. but could he actually be dying here? Kyle then subtly turned to look at the thugs on each of his sides; the two of them, gripping his wrist and pinning him to the seat. If Kyle contracted the muscles on his arms right now, will webs shoot out of his fingers?

And if it does, won't Bob and the others panic-ceasing them to crash and die? Kyle was fully aware of their strength as they have been beat

  • Chapter 260: Kill Them All!

The city lights blurred into meaningless streaks of colour through the tinted windows, as the car moved with unnerving smoothness. Natalie's head throbbed, a dull counterpoint to the sharp, residual agony in her jaw and the sickening knowledge that her nose was definitely broken. The metallic taste of blood filled her mouth. She was wedged tightly between two of the suits in the back seat, their bulky shoulders pressing against hers, their silence as oppressive as their physical presence. Her wrists were bound tightly behind her back with some kind of thin, flexible cord that dug painfully into her skin whenever she shifted. She kept her eyes squeezed shut, partly against the throbbing pain, partly to block out the impassive faces of her captors. Fear was a cold knot in her stomach, tightening with every smooth mile the car devoured.Association headquarters. Cecile. Kyle. They’d taken her to get to him. What would they do to her? What would Kyle do when he found out? The thought of

  • Chapter 259: Kidnapped

Natalie hummed softly, tapping her chin as she compared two ridiculously oversized novelty mugs in the brightly lit gift shop. Kyle's birthday was just around the corner, and finding the perfect gag gift was crucial. He needed cheering up, especially after that whole dungeon mess and his weird recovery. Maybe the one shaped like a grumpy cat? Yeah, that was about it.She paid for the mug, tucked the brightly wrapped box under her arm, and pushed open the shop door, stepping out onto the busy afternoon sidewalk. The city hummed around her, a familiar symphony of traffic, chatter, and distant sirens.Time to head home, maybe try cooking something that wouldn’t set off the smoke alarm tonight. As she turned towards her usual bus stop, a flicker of movement caught her eye. Across the street, two men in dark, impeccably tailored suits stood watching the shop entrance. Their stillness amidst the surrounding bustle felt... wrong.Natalie frowned, her steps faltering. Probably just waiting fo

  • Chapter 235: Arachne IV

Kyle couldn't help but just stare at her. The person who just stumbled towards him, wasn’t the spider-assassin he remembered. Pale skin, yes. Dark hair, yes. But the eyes were normal, large and dark, holding only two pupils. The extra limbs were gone. The chitinous armor replaced by simple dark clothing that looked vaguely familiar. She looked... human. Disturbingly so. "What the hell?" he asked, the words escaping before his cold logic could process fully. She stopped a few feet away, tilting her head, a flicker of confusion in her now-human eyes. "My Lord? Is something wrong?" "You," he stated flatly, gesturing vaguely at her. "You look... different." She glanced down at herself, running a hand over her arm. "Oh. Yes. The domain... it changed when you claimed it." She looked around the altered throne room – the softer lines, the warmer light, the tapestries. "It reflects the owner now. Your influence." "My influence?" he repeated skeptically. "This place looks like Natalie's

  • Chapter 257: The Association II

The moment Kyle's aura flared, the heavy door behind him hissed open. The S-rank guard moved. Not walking, just... appearing inside the room, a blur of black armor moving with impossible speed. A fist wreathed in crackling black energy lashed out, aimed straight at Kyle's head. Kyle dodged purely on instinct, leaning back, the blow whistling past inches from his face. The air crackled where the fist passed, raw destructive power radiating from the missed strike. His senses screamed. This wasn’t the brute force of the beastmen; this was refined, lethal energy. He skidded back across the floor, landing lightly in a low crouch, the green light in his eyes burning brighter. The initial shock faded, replaced by something else. A cold, sharp thrill. A real fight. Killing intent, raw and potent, poured off him, a tangible pressure joining his already overwhelming aura. He felt the corners of his mouth twitch upwards. The S-rank guard remained unfazed by the killing intent. He drew his

  • Chapter 256: Or else!

Kyle scanned the room again. The S-rank guard outside. The overwhelming presence of the man in the chair. Cecile, watchful, dangerous in her own right. This wasn’t a negotiation. It was an interrogation chamber disguised as a luxury office."Have a seat, Hunter Anders," the man invited, gesturing towards a sleek chair opposite him. His voice was calm, but the power beneath it resonated, making the air feel thick.Kyle walked over and sat. The chair was surprisingly comfortable. Too comfortable.Cecile glided over to a discreet side cabinet, retrieving a crystal decanter filled with deep red liquid and a single elegant glass. She poured a measure and offered it to Kyle.He hesitated. He never drank. But refusing felt... unwise. He took the glass. The liquid smelled heavy, unfamiliar. The man watched him, that faint, knowing smile still playing on his lips. Like a scientist observing a particularly interesting specimen. He took a small sip. His face immediately scrunched up. He stuck hi

  • Chapter 255: Derek II

Derek didn’t speak as they got back into the car. He kept glancing sideways at Kyle, then quickly away. The suspicion was still there, but now it was mixed with something else. Unease. Maybe even a sliver of fear. The spoon incident seemed to have recalibrated his assessment.Kyle watched the roadside diner shrink in the rearview mirror. Bandits. Desperate men pushed to violence by circumstance.Just like the ones who’d jumped him in that alley. Just like he could have become. His life felt like a different planet compared to just a few months ago. It seemed almost quaint now. Queens, Creators, Mana Cells, pocket dimensions... it was absurd. He thought about the world outside the city walls. The world that had suffered since monsters started appearing three years ago. People left to starve, to fight over scraps, while cities like Necrus, and apparently Velerius, thrived behind reinforced barriers. It wasn’t right. But what could he do? Lecture a Creator? Overthrow the Guilds?’Not now
