Kyle was completely dazed. His mind, fleeting in and out of consciousness as he tried to keep himself on his feet- he was used to this feeling, after all.

For years, without stop, all he had known was pain. And throughout the years, he realized that he wasn't in pain because he was weak; he wasn't in pain because of his face; he wasn't in pain because he was a Commoner.

He was in pain because there are people out there who like inflicting it on other people, it just made it easier to hurt him because he was weak.

Rex, as well as the three in front of him right now were some of those people.

When Kyle was completely traumatized by the murder of his mother, he instinctively chose to just stick to himself from then on. Even as the gowernment threw him into Necrus High, he remained completely stoic; his entire person, hidden from the world.. literally.

But then, one time, Rex saw his face.

And that was it. That was the entire reason why he has been bullied for 6 straight year

  • Chapter 232: Till Death Do Us Part

Luke wasn’t the only one reeling. Gray gripped his hammer so tightly his knuckles were white. Jake looked ready to bolt, only frozen in place by sheer terror. May’s usual calm had fractured, replaced by grim acceptance.Christy whipped her head around, glare fixed squarely on Jenna who stood stoically near the back, her expression unchanged."Jenna!" Christy’s voice was sharp, cutting through the thick silence. "Rank 6? Are you kidding me? Look at this!" She gestured wildly at the assembled spider army, the impossibly powerful Queen on her throne. "This isn’t Rank 6! This is suicide!""She’s right," Gray added, his voice low and rough. "What did command tell you? What the hell did they send us into?"Jenna met their accusing stares coolly. "My orders were to investigate the anomaly and retrieve lost Guild assets. The Rank 6 designation was based on initial readings before the dungeon shifted." It was a half-truth, carefully worded."Bullshit!" Christy spat. "That thing on the throne

  • Chapter 231: Your Call

Jenna walked near the back, her pace steady, eyes scanning everything. Her mind, however, was focused elsewhere. Not on the unnerving murals or the silence, but on the small tracker concealed in her palm. It vibrated faintly, a steady pulse confirming its target was close. Her mission here wasn’t just about clearing this dungeon or mapping the anomaly. Valen City hadn’t sent an A-rank team leader solely for reconnaissance. They lost something here. A weapon artifact retrieved from another high-rank dungeon, irreplaceable, potent. The last team assigned to test it vanished in this very sector. The directive was clear: retrieve the weapon. No matter the cost. The team, the dungeon clear—secondary. Her tracker had remained silent until they passed through Arachne’s portal. Now, it pointed directly toward the heart of this castle. Toward the Queen. Toward whatever lay beyond the doors they were inevitably approaching.Kyle was a complication. His power was undeniable, perhaps even necessa

  • Chapter 230: Arachne V

The forest didn’t change even as they kept walking. There were no monsters or sounds beyond the rustle of leaves and the occasional birdcall, which somehow made everything worse.Everything was just too quiet. Too... prepared. Like they were being watched. Like the Queen already knew they were coming and wanted them to arrive.Kyle noticed it first—the tension shifting. It wasn’t about the monsters anymore. It was him.Arachne walked beside him in silence, her posture hunched and unsteady. But her silence was not submission. She wasn’t afraid of the woods.Just the people behind them."They’re going to kill you," she said suddenly.Kyle didn’t look at her. "Shut up.""I mean it." Her voice stayed low, steady. "They’re planning it. I’ve seen it before. Dozens of times. Humans turning on the strong one when they’re no longer in control.""You don’t know anything about them.""I’ve been in this dungeon longer than you’ve been alive," she muttered. "I’ve seen how humans act when power sca

  • Chapter 229: The Gateway

The walk was suffocatingly quiet.Arachne walked stiffly ahead, her weakness obvious but her hatred palpable. Kyle followed close behind, the connection between them a silent leash. The rest of the team trailed further back, a tight knot of distrust and exhaustion.Gray kept glancing between Kyle and Arachne, his hand never far from his hammer. Christy nursed her wounded arm, her face grim. Jake and Luke stuck close together, whispering occasionally. May walked silently, but her gaze missed nothing.Jenna remained detached, watchful, her earlier outburst replaced by a chilling calm.Kyle could practically taste their unease, thick and sour in the air. He didn’t care. Let them doubt. He had the power, and he had the way out. They reached the waterfall maybe twenty minutes later. Water cascaded down a sheer rock face into a churning pool below, the sound echoing slightly in the cavernous space. Hidden behind the curtain of water was a dark cave entrance."In there," Arachne muttered, po

  • Chapter 228: Arachne IV

Christy cursed, ducking under a scything claw that sheared through the air where her head had been moments before. The mutated mantis-scorpion, whatever, shrieked, its segmented tail whipping around, dripping viscous green fluid."This thing’s hide is too damn thick!" she yelled, her blades flashing as she parried another blow, the impact jarring her bruised arm. Sweat plastered strands of hair to her face."Focus fire on the joints!" Gray shouted, loosing a crossbow bolt that ricocheted harmlessly off the creature’s main carapace.Christy gritted her teeth, danced back from a spray of acid, and lunged forward again. She saw an opening – a momentary gap where the leg met the thorax. She drove her right blade in, feeling resistance give way slightly. The monster shrieked again, not just in pain but rage. Ignoring May’s flanking attack, it spun with unnatural speed, its heavier scorpion tail blurring toward Christy faster than she could react. Her eyes widened. She tried to twist away,
