“He can't afford it?” A mocking tone pierced the air. The voice was crisp and haughty.

Everyone's head turned as if yanked by an invisible thread. Well, everyone except Sabito.

The rude female attendant, who Sabito hadn't even thought of knowing her name—because he agreed she wasn't worth it—straightened instantly.

Her entire demeanor changed, her spine locked and her lips curled upward in a delighted smile. The handful of other customers, who had paused mid-browse, now craned their necks, eyes wide and glinting.

The man who had spoken is Kelvin Skye. He stood with his hands casually tucked into the pockets of his expensive designer coat, the dark fabric hugging his tail frame like it was sewn on him.

His neatly cropped hair glistened beneath the boutique’s chandeliers. His jawline was sharp, the skin pale and pampered. He smirked with the confidence of someone who'd never been told no.

But Sabito was going to teach him that a “no” is part of one's life journey. After all, everything has a first right?

Kevin's father was a deputy in the government sector, and the crowd murmured his name in hushed excitement. Several customers recognized him instantly.

Whispers floated in the air. The way he dresses, the elegance in his shoes, his luxury wristwatch—which Sabito didn't have—all screamed…wealth.

His eyes slowly rakes over Sabito, who still hadn't moved. Sabito's clothes were plain. Simple trousers and a long-sleeved, faded shirt, nothing with a logo. His hair was messy in a careless way, but his jaws was strong, his cheekbones high and refined.

Kelvin knew Sabi was handsome, but his pride wouldn't allow him to see it, only what he wanted to see.

“If you're going to spoil the marchandise, at least, have the decency to pay for it,” Kelvin said lazily, like tossing crumbs to the pigeons.

“And who says I ain't paying?” Sabito replied, calm and collected, still not looking at him. He reached out and gently removed the jacket from the mannequin.

The rude female attendant gasped. “You just wrinkled it! Now who's going to pay for that?!” Her voice rose to a loud pitch, drawing more attention than it was already. was.

Turning around, she swiftly pulled out her phone. “I'm calling the manger, right now!”

Everyone expected Sabito to start freting, but he didn't even blink, giving off the feeling of nonchalance.

A younger female attendant stepped forward. Her eyes were softer, and she wore her uniform with a quiet grace. Sabito eyes trails down to her collerbone.

He wanted to check out who she was. Her name tag read Maya.

“He didn't do anything wrong, Zelda,” Maya said, stepping closer. “After all, aren't customers not allowed to try clothes?”

‘So the rude girl was Zelda, huh…’ Sabito thought. “Don't defend a peasant!” Zelda sapt. “You think he needs your pity? If you so much loves him, then you can pay for the dress, or step back and shut the hell up!”

At her threats, Maya flinched, her heart skipping a beat. She doesn't like the way this customer was being treated, but still, she couldn't afford to take the blame and pay for the dress.

Her entire monthly wage wasn't even up to the amount on the tag, so she inadvertently stepped back.

Sabito, aware of everything, turned to her and nodded with a faintest smile. “It's alright. Thank you.”

Maya's cheeks colored a little. When Sabito gave her that smile, he looked like model that walked right from a magazine.

He looked striking despite being on ragged clothes.

Maya couldn't help but think that if he wore designer clothes, he would surpass most people that called themselves handsome.

It was just a pity that he was poor and couldn't afford such luxury clothes. She hesitated before walking off to hang the jacket, trying to calm the situation.

Maya's heart skipped a beat for Sabito when, a moment later, the boutique's glass doors swung open.

A short man in a shiny blue shirt and heavy cologne entered, stomping through like a lazy, fat rhino. His greased hair glistened.

“What's going on here?!” he barked, his gray eyes sweeping across the mini crowd that had formed. That was when he saw Kelvin and his eyes sparkled. “Ah! Mr Skye! Such an honor! What a surprise to have you here today.”

As if used to it, Kelvin gave a smile. He pointed lazily. “That man tried to ruin your clothes.”

“And even after I warned him, he just had to ruin it still!” Zelda complained, pointing at Sabito. “Manager Kim, you have to do something about it!”

“Oh God, this young man is now in trouble!

“As an efficient manager, I can bet a fortune that he will be blacklisted from entering into this Mall.

Kim turned to Sabito with a sneer. “You again? Always one of you sneaking around. Do you know how expensive the fuck that jacket is?”

Sabito raised a brow, merely shrugging. “I did nothing wrong. I was only trying it on.”

“So how did trying turned into ruining the jacket?”

“It wasn't ruined!” Sabito yelled! “You didn't even check to know that it wasn't!”

“Whatever, boy. You either pay now, or I call security.” Mr Kim Sally deadpan.

Before Sabito could respond, the double doors opened again. As if on cue, five security guards strode in, surrounding him.

A collective rumble of gasps echoed in the boutique.

Kelvin chuckled, playing the benevolent prince. “I suppose I could pay for him. No need to cause a scene.”

"Wow!! Such a nice young man!" People clapped lightly. A few customers murmured how gracious Kelvin was, while Zelda beamed.

Seeing this, Maya rushed over and whispered with an urgent laden voice. “Please, hurry and thank him. I'll be over.”

Sabito looked at her, eyes deep and quiet. “Hey, just relax, okay? I'll sort this out.”

He turned to the guards, after Maya nodded hesitantly.. “How much is the jacket?”

Manager Kim rolled her eyes. “fifty thousand…”

Sabito swiftly pulled out his phone. “Then how can I pay if I don't have the mall's account number?”

His words were like a calm over a raging storm as a hush descended over the room.
