CHAPTER 23

Leon stood at the edge of the gala hall, his eyes scanning the now-empty venue that had been a battleground just moments ago. The tables were still set with half-finished drinks and the remnants of a night that was meant to be glamorous but turned into chaos. The guests had all been safely evacuated, and the attackers taken into custody. David Harper was on his way to a federal holding cell.

Marcus walked over, his face a mix of exhaustion and triumph. "We did it, Leon. We exposed Harper right in the middle of his own plan."

Leon gave a small nod. "This is just the beginning, Marcus. He’s not done yet. We need to be prepared for whatever his next move is."

Marcus frowned. "What do you mean? We have him, and the FBI has all the evidence to put him away for a long time."

Leon’s eyes narrowed. "David Harper isn’t just any criminal. He’s a man with connections, resources, and a mind that never stops plotting. He’s not the kind of enemy that stays down easily."
