"I will explain it." Matilda adjusts herself on her seat. "Ashley is only coming around because she is sure that Angus is single. If Angus and I pretend to be together and get the court to give us a certificate, we can get her off our back."

"And what next?" Joanna asks. "You guys are going to be married forever?"

"No." Matilda snorts. "We can file for divorce in maybe three months, Ashley would have moved on by then."
