Eighty six

Sophia trailed Travis as he arrived at a bar surprisingly early, watching as he ordered a beer and lost himself in deep contemplation at the bar table. She was keenly aware that their scheme had taken a toll on him. He must be seething with anger.

She dialed Edwin to provide an update. “Hello, Ed.”

“Hey, babe,” Edwin responded casually.

Sophia’s mouth twitched in annoyance at the word ‘babe’ and continued, “Well, Travis is drinking at a bar, Edwin, which means he’s furious. He certainly got the pictures about what his wife did to him.”

“Oh. Is that so? Just imagine him discovering that I’m the mastermind behind it all. Travis is a real bastard when angry, he must have done something to his wife or maybe do something to her as payback,” Edwin mused over the phone.

“Hmm, perhaps the best course of action for Travis is to divorce her and find someone else good enough for him,” she commented, her gaze fixed on Travis from her seat with a seductive, dreamy expression.

“What?” Edwin blurted
