Chapter 4

"Why? You know him?" asked one of the thugs while frowning.

Jason just nodded weakly. He was racking his brain to get the right reasons for the thugs. Because he couldn't possibly admit that the person was his father-in-law, of course the thugs wouldn't believe it.

Jason walked closer to the side of the road.

"Who's he?" asked the others to Jason. They were also surprised that the new kid working in this market even knew someone rich with a luxury car.

"He was my former employer before I worked in this market; he is a good person. Please don't disturb him; I'm sorry he's seriously ill right now," said Jason.

Damien looked wide-eyed when he heard what Jason said; his trash son-in-law even said he was sick. Though he was in good condition. Damien was very emotional hearing this, but he also felt that his current condition was being threatened. Damien understood what Jason meant when he saw some of the thugs starting to look into his valuables and also into his car.

One of them asked for identification to make sure the name mentioned by Jason was correct. Damien seemed to shake his hand a little as he showed his identity.

He felt that Jason's being here was of no use.

"Trash is still trash; under these circumstances, he won't even be able to help; he won't be able to fight people with such burly muscles," Damien grumbled in his heart.

According to him, someone like Jason would not be able to fight the thugs. Damien didn't know that life like that, mixed with various kinds of human characters, had already formed Jason's mentality. He could even blend into any group of people.

When making sure the name Jason said was the same as Damien's identity, The guys nodded and slowly left Damien there alone in a confused state because his car's tire was still blown and he didn't understand how to change a tire.

Damien looked a bit taken aback as the men all left except for Jason, who was still wearing his sweet smile.

Jason, while working in the market, is a good person. Until the thugs gave Damien the opportunity to immediately leave the location,

Damien didn't think that his son-in-law could drive away the thugs so easily, but he was again annoyed by the incident. According to him, Jason is not great because, at this time, his car tires are still bursting due to the behavior of the thugs.

"This place really suits you; I think leaving the Damien family home you can do better. It turned out to be a coolie in this slum and dirty market. But I forgot that this place is perfect for you. And don't forget that Esme will soon be filing for divorce from a useless husband like you. You trash!" whispered Damien in Jason's ear, which made Jason only able to hold back his emotions. Because if he showed that he was emotional for Damien and was seen by a bunch of people earlier, then Damien's history would be over.

Damien walked to his car and immediately left the market with a flat tire. He hoped that when he arrived at the repair shop, everything was still fine.

In his heart, Damien grumbled in annoyance, because how could he be saved today by his trash son-in-law, who had just been kicked out of his house a few days ago?

"Is there no one else in this world besides Jason? I might meet again with the person who destroyed my future business!" Damien shouted from inside his car.

Meanwhile, Jason watched his father-in-law's car until it completely disappeared from his sight. Damien's words were able to disturb his concentration while working. Damien said that Esme was going to file for divorce from him soon.

"Is it really like that? So that Esme can never be contacted?" muttered Jason in his heart while still busy thinking about it.

Jason tried to convince his heart that Esme would continue to wait for him faithfully until he could take Esme out of Damien's luxurious house and build a luxurious house for Esme. He knows his wife is the only child of a rich man. There was no way Esme would want to live in a shabby and dirty house.

Jason immediately went back to work, lifting the dozens of sacks, so his shoulders felt very numb. Jason can indeed do other grunt work, but this time there are so many things to lift.

Just as Jason was a little closer to completing his task and all the sacks had almost moved from the store to the containers, he got a phone call.

Cring! Cring! Cring!

"Whoever just bothers you, you'll get angry again," Jason muttered and glanced at his cell phone, which turned out to be from an unknown number.

Jason turned off the call because he never wanted to answer calls from people he didn't know, even though the number had called him many times.

"If it's important, he'll message you," Jason muttered, because Jason thought the person should have messaged him first.

Ting!

A message came to his cellphone from the number that called him earlier, which seemed to understand what was on Jason's mind.

"Jason Mairer, you are expected to come to Dalton Corp. on Thursday the following day. Dalton is in need of an immediate lead!
